  • lol mine is weird. It doesn't get loose, it gets really stiff and hard to move.

  • If you still need the fix for it, reply, I might make a vid about it, give it a try ;)

  • @mask110, Yep, I still need a fix for it, but the whole analog stick is out of the controller LOL. Make the video if you want ;)

  • What did lollnternets1 say to fix the bad n64 stick suckage aka loose joystick?

  • same happend to me i got 3 n64 controlers and they dosent work

  • I actually uploaded a video about how to fixing this right now. It's a very primitive way but it worked for me at least. You have to disassemble the controller and the analog stick though. After the processing is done it will appear here:

    /watch?v=FkAv07lRdhM

  • lol i just used your method about 5 minutes ago i dont understand why this vid has 4 times the viewings of yours when yours actually solves the problem

  • What do you mean? :P

  • well you posted the cure to the problem he is on about and only 5oo ppl have watched it but 2000ppl have just watched this guy waving a controller around

  • Haha yeah true. Thanks, I'm happy you liked the fix.

  • what game are you playing?

  • I was playing Perfect Dark, It's a great game :))))

  • Comment removed

  • get a little better lighting mate

its hard to see what the problem is

    or maybe add some annotations

either way im still confused as to what the problem is and i might be able to help

  • I put epoxy over the bottom of the joystick. Feels like new.

  • that was nintendos plan to make more money. Make a controller analog that would break. over time god i hate nintendo

  • just use a differnt one. . . ha

  • basically whats wrong is theres a mechanisum in the stick bit and it is made from a week plastic and over time it eriodes so your gonna have to take it apart and replace the whole joy stick box with a new one. its so easy to do a blind person could do it.

  • i know how to fix it but you must open it and its a little bit hard but works almost like a NEW! :D

  • You can fix it, but you have to take it apart. I fixed mine, though it has become a little sticky it plays Mario just fine.

  • I'm guessing by the comments you can't fix it without just getting a new one?

Damn. I already tried taking it apart, it only worked for a day. :(

  • RIP controller,

they should re-sell all of the consoles from the past :( They would outsell next gen I bet

  • Yes! They probably would! =)

  • I totally agree. Let's start a petition at facebook! =D NOT

  • i sure know I'd buy them.

  • Sadly, the N64's joystick wasn't designed to last for the everyday gamer. Buying a new one would be the best option, I'm afraid.

  • You have a couple of options:

    1. Buy a new controller. (Will cost you 30 euro's)

    2. Buy new Analog stick and replace it (Will cost you 10 euro's)

    3. Open controller, clean it from the inside, also inside analog stick box. (This will only improve your analog stick for like 10%, its useless)

You said you dont want to spend money, well there is no other option im sorry. there is no fix.

dont forget that bad controllers like this make you turn bad @ speedrunning, making you slower! better fix it!

  • yeah, thx Cara, i just knew i had to spend money for this, oh well, my cousin ordered a new one for my birthday, now im waiting for it.

oh and yes, bad analog sticks makes me slower, that's why i can't get very good PRs.

  • get a replacement stick and fix it yourself. only cost ya 10 bucks :]

  • awful, both my controllers are like that. I know you said not to suggest buying BUT if you go garage sale hunting you can get lucky and buy them for 99 cents or an equally low amount.

  • Umm. Those ARE the only 3 ways to fix it. How else would it be possible?

    Magic?

P.S. It is not too hard to take apart and put back together plus if it is broken already and you break it more then there is little lost.

  • Too dark. I can't see a thing.

  • I have PD on N64 :D

  • (accidentally hit enter and it posted the comment)... My original controller that came with the system's analog stick feels quite heavy and I can move it a little and nothing happens in the game. I picked up a second controller at a store called GameStop (not sure if you have those in Holland) and they should have used N64 controller that work (they wouldn't sell them if they wouldn't). I have never taken anything apart nor have I bought anything similar online.

  • I'm not seeing what the problem is. If there is one please tell me. Hopefully you'll still be able to put up videos. If the controller is not plugged in obviously it won't work. You're controller may just be old. The original controller that came with my N64
