  • @stormchaser9110, however, if you would like to go beyond to get on statewide or regional HF nets, I recommend @ least the general class, which is what I am. 73 de KJ4UPD

  • @stormchaser9110 A technician license will get you on vhf/uhf and that's all you need to relay to the NWS.

  • I'm a storm spotter w/ the Skywarn program. I relay weather reports. Which license would be best for me? Thanks.

  • Good video even though he does not say Morse Code right.

    But who cares.

    George Vreeland Hill

  • he actually DOES say "morris" code...four times. But who cares...everybody misstates something. He's a nice guy doin' a video. I need to become a ham so I can operate FPV equipment for radio controlled aircraft. Unless you can go all day without farting...leave this guy alone.

  • hoooooo boy!!! LOL

Anyone can become a ham now since the CW test was eliminated.

What the HECK is morris code!?!?!

    Its called MORSE CODE! Geezzz.

  • You can look it up on "The Google" LOL you old bastard.

  • @ajw159 In all fairness and in his defense (you called him an old bastard after all) he said:

"The other way, you can go to look it up on the Google website and look for exams."

If you had any sense you would stop making the YouTube community look so intelligent and do something productive to society.

  • The FCC regulations are just made to limit the usage of 2-way radio, to keep the telephone alive...

If there was no regulations, there would not be any wired and cellphones anymore.

  • I didn't "obtain " my ticket, I earned it!

    "Morse Code thing...." LOL!

    "Novice Tech" LOL

  • for first timer ham radio online study test would be technician or general or extra?

  • Nice videos! Great way to introduce our hobby.

  • Is the General test difficult? Which is the major difference between the technician license and the general?

  • Do you need a license for all Ham radios? If you do can you take the test online?

  • @TimelyMeerkat The tests online are practice tests, you have to go to an official testing session.

  • Someone might wanna check this guys basement for missing Hams.

  • What's with that "Morris Code"? Sam Morse is rolling in his grave!

  • hey i;m all for fucking up the ham band, echo box and roger beep time,oh and linear amp time!!!!!!

  • @reddy12131171 The FCC will come and get you and take all your equipment if you swear constantly on the radio like that and continue to operate illegally. I hope you don't have a license

  • HAM BONE!!!!

  • Here's how you "become a HAM radio operator":

    1. Purchase a HAM set.

    2. Purchase an antenna and some coax.

    3. Take it home, hook it all up...tune your antenna...and talk.

FUCK THE LICENSE!!!!!! Triangulate this FCC!!! hahahahahaha

  • I agree, the government is evil

  • spamme is correct, it is the FCC which governs this stuff.

  • The GOVERNING BODY FOR AMATEUR RADIO is NOT the ARRL. The GOVERNING body is the FCC you MORON!

The ONLY way to get your amateur radio license is to take a test.

Any NEW or perspective Amateur Radio Operators out there, please stay away from this BUFFOON. His videos show him violating FCC regulations, he has disjointed, and wrong information.

In short, this guy is known as a LID and he is an abomination to Amateur Radio. Stay away from him and the message he is putting out!!

  • I have been wanting to get into amateur radio for a while now. Do you know of anyone who has similar videos/info that happens to be correct?

  • Let me know what city and state are you in and I will find an ARRL representative for you in that area. They can then point you into the right direction.

  • want to thank you on the information you provided,i am surprised but releaved to hear that there is no more morse code as part of the test to become a ham operator but im sur it is still in used around the world so quess, i still need to study that, thank you again and hope to talk to you on the air

  • you mumble?

  • get a cellphone..they are a better communications tool as you can choose who you speak to instead of random communication.

  • what code was that???

  • I got my tech last year and now am studying for my general. I am self studying and I was wondering if you had any tips as how to memorize the frequency privlages for the general class and those frequencies requiring 200 watt PEP. thank you. KD0BFY
