"Cheese" is such a lame definition. There is only one rule in war: there are none. Sun Tzu would laugh if someone explained the term "cheese" for him.

There are two types of openings in Starcraft, just like in chess: traditional and untraditional openings. Starcraft players whine about untraditional openings (such as cheese) for the same reason chess players do: they hate them because they actually have to pay attention and can't follow their memorized openings where they feel safe.

can some imba player explain why pink in the beginning used his probes to destroy the gateways? I mean his zealot would come out a lot earlier anyway...

just to make sure to destroy the gateways, put him behind both in tech and money. You could do a) an economic analysis of the 4-5 probes not mining versus the money lost due to the attack or b) prevent the possibility of containment (though anyway he could have taken out the gateways + zs in due course)
