Just because a government is communist, does not mean it's not democratic. Chavez is a Social Democrat, they still hold elections. Chavez was inspired by fidels revolution to free the people from a communist dictator ship which is what Venezuela was prior to Chavez. It's not easy to pull together a country after a dictatorship, Chavez still has a long way to go, but the people can still vote him out.
