  • effects and the lengthy riffs on a theme in songs, such as The Fog or Between a man and a woman. Listening to the album, I feel like I am in a marsh looking at these things happening around me- the video of The Sensual World, the fields of 'Never be mine', an autumnal Halloween night watching witches and rockets. Like a fine wine, it is a both subtle and powerful marination of her earlier and later style up to that point and it always feels real, womanly, private and fresh.

  • Another magnificent song from a great lady. OBE Now!

  • Genius beyond words.

  • quelle est belle ,et brillante, quelle femme,,, douceur finesse musicalite a outrance, que du bonheur, merci que c est bon de reentendre ca en ce moment avec la bouse inondant les ondes ....ca fait du bien !

  • what a jam

  • By far one of Kate's greatest songs!

  • Strange - I loved Sensual World

  • just so .X

  • im not a big fan of the sensual world album with the exception of the incredible title track, never be mine, reaching out [and recently deeper understanding and the fog have grown on me],i think the album is terrible[sorry if i offend anyone].when i was 20yrs old back in the early 90s,i worked in a pub and when i couldnt get the punters out at closing time,i used to put on rockets tail on cassette player, and within seconds they were running for nearest exit! big kate fan,but this is torture, sorry

  • @fergusil you don't like This Woman's Work?

    #@!

  • @SpammerOvTheGods womans work, the song?....no. back in 1989,12yrs into her career and thats the best kate came up with-it just wasnt gd enough and i was in complete disbelief at the time that kate would dish out such shit to her hardcore following.i honestly believe the 1993 album red shoes was kates way of apologising and a peace offering to fans for the dire sensual world album.the b-side to this womans work7",im still waiting is the most amazing kate song ever.why it was a bside?i dont know

  • @fergusil This woman's work, a piano-led song (like the later Moments of pleasure) was not really typical in style to the rest of The Sensual World album (although it could be said to share a theme of relationships). I regard The Sensual World as my favourite Kate Bush album. Whereas Hounds of Love had lots of songs with imagery about the outdoors, even when The Sensual World does too if feels more 'inner'. There is a wonderful atmosphere to it created not just by the Trio but by the sound

  • Wow the best song. A Turkish man told me it sonded like a Turkish mouring song.

    It's very moving for sure.

  • this is still a chilling song...

  • Amazing... it may sound like a cliche but firework displays to this track are the best :-) Thanks Kate - looking fwd to your new tracks.

  • Why isn't there more artists like Kate! Although it would be impossible to even come close to this talented female.

  • 1:30....and i jizz in my pants

  • Bulgarian folklore????It sounds like bulgarian music.

  • Kate Bush is a f*cking miracle.

  • I love Kate so much and the Trio is truly amazing this song is very moving. David Gilmore's tone is shit though his contribution to this song is a negetive one.

  • I've always loved this song...thank you so much!

  • This is beautiful, one of my favourite Kate Bush songs, great upload.

  • this is more than music.....

what is the name of the song trio bulgarka singing?

  • This song really penetrates my heart... So sad and moving.

  • simply divine - thanks for posting

  • @neelix5555 You're welcome.

  • "Was it me telling you're crazy?!"

  • Comment removed

  • @Picnicl I like the way you think/write!

  • ...unique masterpiece ...

  • Brava e bella, bella bella!!!!

  • Kate Bush is musical originality personified

  • Wonderful of you to post this. It's my second favorite Kate Bush song. First is, of course, Wuthering Heights.

  • Thanks for sharing what you have. It's a tremendous gift.

  • MAGICAL

  • what a track|||| Superb

  • I wish I were as eloquent as other commentators, but I just want to say........yes, yes, yes. Truly, the flower of the mountain.....

  • @eibib.great track.love the explosion of sounds when dave gilmour joins in with his guitar.very pink floyd.kate, you re unique.

  • minge

  • The song is like a rollercoaster of sound and fireworks, all blended together magically by the one and only Kate Bush. This song actually made the hairs on my neck stand. Brilliant!!

  • One of the most truly unique artists of all time. This track is absolutely spellbinding on every level. Thank you for posting this. I will have to subscribe to your page.

  • You're welcome! I'm glad that you like it. I worked hard on this video.

  • mousef16 - wouldn't we all love to snuggle up with Kate. Understand completely.

  • Fantastic.

  • Ah! :D! I found it again! It's the intro that really gets me. The juxtaposition between the background vocals, to her own singing, like they were battling emotions with each other.

  • This is songwriter/singer who should have gotten much more attention and fame. She puts most of the female singers to shame. I can understand why David Gilmour wanted 2 be her producer.

  • DAMN!!!!!! Great effin song!!!!!! Kate bush, David Gilmour. Hell, words to describe are so useless, all you can do is feel. Don't be ashamed if it chokes you up a little bit. I'll admit the song after "This woman's work" gives me waterfalls.

  • There's only 1 thing I can think of that's wrong with this song...it's too darn short!!! Beautiful music like this should go on forever! Utterly fantastic! This...is what talent is!

  • I found myself listening to this song for about the hunderedth or somethingth time, and it struck me... it was short for a reason. Like the comet in the sky, like the mournful girl who saw only a stick on the fire, as they strike the surface... Gives me chills every time it ends, and there's no silence like it.

  • This has got to be my favorite Kate Bush song EVER! The majesty of the Trio Bulgarka's otherworldly harmonies, the tenderness of Kate's voice, the sheer POWER of the David Gilmour guitar solo...everything's just so...RIGHT!!!! Absolutely amazing! She is an unmatched musical visionary!

  • My name is Johnny and I love Kate, maybe Symphonyofflowers would give me a good run for my money, but I'm a 41 year old fisherman and love her stuff SO MUCH that I have even chosen "The Handsome Cabin Boy" and "Jig of Life" as my funeral songs......got a horrible feeling I'm gonna die before I get to snuggle up to Kate in front of a roaring fire with a glass of wine.......er,.......yeah.

  • ...you should be so lucky....

  • lucky lucky lucky! =0)

  • I'm 12 And like her too :)

    Great Song!

  • I named my WLAN 'Rocket' in honor of her late cat.

  • does anyone know the bulgarian lyrics for this song?

  • Oh my, best, most moving song ever. Would love to hear a live version. Thanks for posting with lyrics and all.

Now off to dress up as a rocket and fire myself directly into the sun.

  • You're welcome.

  • a really good song - i like kate bush, and bulgarian music, too :-) :-)

  • Me too! This song is a marveillous suprise for me!!!

  • I've loved Kate ever since I heard her first songs in 1979, but as a drummer this my absolute favorite Kate jam tune.. It'sr the only one where she really lets the percussion improvise and be out front. I'd give anything to have played this with her......this and Sensual World - masterpieces. I hope her music lives on in the hearts of romantics and poets forever.

  • This is not JUST one of my fave Kate Bush songs ever;it's one of my favorite SONGS ever! David Gilmour's guitar rocks beyond measure,& the Trio Bulgarka's harmonies are just otherwordly!!!

A triumph! I wish ALL music could be this good!

  • This song amazing beyond words! One of my all time favourites. Kate Bush is a true artist.

  • This is the first time I have heard this song and I am crying ... ???????

  • lol, Yeah it got me several times. = )

  • 1:30

It grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go.

  • Regards from Bulgaria.

  • ....this song is something so special .... balkan folklore is the most beautiful

  • Goddess

  • One of my favourite Kate songs. She is a national treasure. No one comes near her these days. Love her.

  • Beautiful voices, also I like the song Deeper understanding with the trio Bulgarka.

  • so you are all trio bulgarkafans...I?...love it!!

  • One of my all time favourite tracks of Kate's. Love the sound of the trio Bulgarka too. So special

  • hi

"Maro le hubava mome" that is

"Mara (bg name) - beautiful lass"

    I think :)

  • thank you very much!

  • what lyrics do the bulgarian voices sing at 3:17? I just can not understand that...

  • To be honest, when I first heard this song, I didn't like it at all. I love Kate Bush and I love her when she's at her craziest but I didn't like this song because of the Bulgarka intro, it just didn't seem to sound good. Now however, it's probably one of my favourite Kate Bush songs.

  • November 1989:

I'd got my copy of TSW the night before the official release date.

I got to this track and sat staring at the stars with tears pouring down my face. I played it 20 times that night.

For me it's as powerful and original as Wuthering Heights - should have been the first single

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Kate Bush is it !! Awesome song ....

  • Don't care what anyone says...I've always loved Kate Bush!~

  • The Trioa Bulgarka add something special to this song,

    great track

  • I don't post a lot but this? I an American who loves Kate Bush and has since 1989! Looks like America doesn't corner the market on ignorance and intolerance after all. Suck it humans!

  • well, no need to trash the americanos, but let's see, i;m from canada and i used to play this song every night before i went to bed back in 1989.....soo,, not all of us north americano's are ignoranto- anyway, who cares about that- this is another great kate song, and a really good one to do it to....i had a lovely french girlfriend at the time and we used to make love to this all the time- fond memories you know

  • touche love, this is wonderful.

  • Oops, you caught me at my musical snobbiest, blasting the Americans as usual... and I hope you realize after listening that this is Kate Bush, not Kate Nash. ;)

  • oops. did i say nash? hmm. love her too, actually. :)

  • and yeah.. i did indeed catch you trashing americans again. shame on you.

  • Way to paint 300 million people with same brush...I'm American and been a Kate Bush fan since the early 80s

  • You're missing the point devil people... if you love this song then you should be pissed just like me that you are just a handful of her fans in a country with 300 million people. Make a logical guess as to what venue Kate would play if she was in your town, and it would be very small.

  • The trouble with these statements is that I've known PLENTY of Brits who had NO idea who Kate Bush is and PLENTY more who trash her. Then there's my good old Detroit, Michigan, USA "mum" who use to exercise to Kate's "Wow!" You need to stop generalizing about a whole region of people, bigot.

  • Amazingly beautiful. Love the combination of Kate´s voice and the similarly divine Trio Bulgarka. Thank You!!

  • You're welcome!

  • trio bulgarka, they rock

  • Just magic, that's all I can say about Kate Bush's musicality, originality, intelligence, feel, poetic skills and taste. One of my great musical heroes. Just magic. And what a fabulous combination with this marvellous trio. "Just" magic as well.

  • Absolutely the best track from The Sensual World (not my favourite record of hers) but this song is amazing!!

  • It's difficult to imagine any other female artist coming up with something this spine-tinglingly original.

  • How dull the music the music scene would be without this amazing lady. A true Genius.

  • This song is very powerful...love how it picks up with the guitar... best track on the album.

  • I love the guitar and drums in this too.. not suprising really, I have heard the song 817 times on my ipod!!

  • Great song. My fave kate album. Love the Bulgarian ladies too. This rocks!!!

  • Yes, it definitely rocks! A perfect Kate Bush vision/vehicle ("with a rocket strapped to my back"), David Gilmour's guitar is the perfect rocket fuel driving it and the turbo charged rhythm section (BASS) is the best! The Bulgarian voices make your neck hairs stand on end!

  • The unique music and original spirit of Kate Bush is a true treasure! Every deeply inspired and lovingly crafted song from The Sensual World holds on strong as one of my all-time favorites from her impressive catalogue! There will never be another Kate!

  • is there a version with just the bulgarian singers?

  • No, not as far as I know.

  • trio Bulgarka are the best!

  • This is a fabulous track and one of my favourites off The Sensual World album. The fabulous Trio Bulgarka make a fabulous track into something extraordinary.

  • I agree, fantastic.

  • they put the bulgarian women too down; deserved more volume.. i dont know. HURRAH FOR THE BULGS!

  • What??? No love for David Gilmour's guitar work??

    #@!

  • I used this song on a running tape, to be played while in the last miles--it provides a rush of energy.

  • If you like the sound of the backing vocals on this song,...check Trio Bulgarka for more.

From a long time Kate Bush fan, they are worth searching out.

  • One of my favourite Kate bush songs. Absolutely stunning.

  • Genius. She's the epitomine of class and musical brilliance.

  • I didn't discover the 'Sensual World' album until late 2006, but it is strange because this song is truly THE stand out from it, and arguably her best song, yet it's not that well known.

  • I was just thinking the exact same thing. The entire song is so beautiful. It makes me feel like I'm flying through mountains.

  • Thank you for agreeing with me! I thought I was alone on that one! We have taste hehe!

  • I've got this album on cassette. Still wearing it out!

  • I don't know how many times I listened to this song and loved it. Finally, I listened to the words and was further blown away. Kate is great. If I had to choose someone to represent the human race to some intergalactic cultural council, I'd send Kate. She's the best in all of us.

  • thank you for your inspiring words ... you are absolutely right; INTERGALACTIC is the correct discription of Kate - best artist all times

  • I love this song, it reminds me of that kids story by Oscar Wilde about a rocket and a goose, or something.

    Anyway, it is beutiful.

  • wow! I didn't knew David Gilmour was playing the guitar here! I can understand the magic better now :))

  • There simply isn't a more powerful song created than this. Why isn't it well known?

  • I always wondered that myself Picnic 10

  • Tori Amos want's to lick Kate's bean and we all know it. (and I fuckin love Tori)

  • 'tis true

  • That;s most definitely no one other than Tori Amos at 4:02. I didn't think it was, but it really couldn't be anyone else.

  • Tori Amos? What kind of nonsense is this? That picture is of Kate Bush together with The Trio Bulgarka. That picture comes from Gaffaweb. I don't even have any pictures of Tori Amos on my computer.

  • Whoops. I didn't think it would've been a picture of Tori Amos but it really didn't look like any one else (I even compared the noses). I'm pretty sure that Tori and Kate haven't communicated extensively, so it didn't make sense to me, either.

  • OK. If you want to see the original picture, go to the "Wow" section on Gaffaweb. It's picture number 389 there. Then you can see for yourself that it is Kate Bush.

  • One of my faves of all time.

  • Pure and absolute GENIUS. REAL music by a REAL artist and someone with REAL talent.

  • Completely. It was this intro that got me obsessed with Bulgarian Choir and IMHO one of the most gut wrenching intros ever.. Pure magic.

  • truly mind blowing a sensual woman in a senual world

  • One of the best songs on the sensual world LP

fantastic! vocal range from kate in this majestic track!!!brilliant!!!!.

  • I love this song so much, ty for putting it on

  • Thanks for putting this on. This song takes my breath away- a great part of The Sensual World. It always make me think of both Halloween and Bonfire Night- witches on broomsticks and fiery rockets and, of course, Rocket is the name of a cat and witches traditionally have cats too.

  • your comments for Rockets' Tail by Kate Bush made me smile, thanks you.

  • greatttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt

  • Thanks for additional background info:)

It must be a lucky cat- to be a property of Kate herself!;)

  • Just for the record, that information is in the description of the video.

Anyway, Kate has had many cats. The first two were called Zoodle and Pyewacket. Zoodle died in 1987, and then she adopted a stray cat who had three kittens. She named them Rocket, Sparky and Torchy. This song was named after Rocket and dedicated to him, but otherwise the song has nothing to do with the cat.

  • Absolutely extraordinary song!

  • Best one yet, SoF, and it's great to see Rocket's Tail on Youtube.

  • Thank you! I'm glad that you like it. I'm working on videos for "Jig Of Life" and "Hello Earth", but it will take some time before they are finished.

  • Yes, awesome to see/hear this song on youtube! One of the all time favorites (though there is many!!!)

And absolutely agree with the comments on the video :)

  • Oh my god, your videos get more and more beautiful and lovable :D

All those pic are amazing!! And once again, you chose a wonder-, wonderful KT Bush's song.. So that the atmosphere here in your video is pure, romantic, delicate and vivid..

    "Raising hats !" ;))

  • Thank you very much, but I didn't choose the song myself. I made it at a request from Appy. But I'm glad that you like it anyway.

  • Awesome fine song of The Sensual World album just what You Tube needed top marks SOF and Thanks for posting.

  • brilliant

i love this song and video

    well done =]
