And your racket may pass the imaginary extension of the net, meaning you can follow through their side of the court if you don't touch the net.

Hi guys heres the correct ruling:

Normally players are not allowed to cross the net but if a ball bounces on their side and goes back over, that is the ONLY time they may cross the net, providing they dont touch the net. If it bounces back over,and hits the floor of the side it was hit from , the person who hit he shot wins the point. however if the returning player hits the ball before it hits its original side the point continues.

nope, I've looked it up in official USTA rules and you cannot. Your raquet can cross over the net if you hit the ball on your side and the follow through swing crosses the net after you already made contact. But once that ball is on the other side of the net, if it's not on that side at the result of the other player hitting it there with his/her raquet, then the first player wins the point.

I actually was in the right of claiming the point for myself because what actually happened was the ball spun back on my side and bounced twice. And he thought he won the point, but I told him he didn't because in order to win the point, he has to HIT the ball before it lands on my side, and that at the point the ball landed on my side, it was treated like any other ball bouncing twice in that it was dead and point over.
