In this song, we have a girl who is growing up and is ready to leave the family. The song is not specific but most of the time it is about either a boy or occupation. The point is - the parents (not well off) fear she may fall into their own misfortunes. "Let her Cry" is about acceptance. I think it is fantastic because it spans generations.

my 5 year old loves this song. Her father used to sing it all the time. When I was pregnant he was sang at local venues and hootie songs were what people liked him to sing.
