  • The fibula goes on the outside of the tibia. Everything else was on point though. You might want to correct that.

  • @Rahlistic and adductor magnus's insertion is a longer area on linea aspera ^^ (didnt notice the fibula until u said it lol)

  • Damn I took an an anatomy test on friday and failed hard. Wish I saw this video earlier ):

  • Amazing, could you please do a whole section of anatomy, front , side, back or angle ??? These are awesome, and some of the best tuts i seen for it. oh and just tip maybe add the actual leg next to the muscle versian for comparison ?

  • No knee?

  • Isn't it so that fibula comes outer side??????????? there is a mistake in the drawing.

  • great vid. Yet the fib is on the wrong side. Correct it and you hit it head on. BOOM!!

  • This is really helpful, Thanks a lot Sycra ur the best. Can you plz make more tutorials like this for the muscles :D

  • thanks for making the muscles dif' colours, it helps.

  • Great muscle knowledge.

Isn't the fibula supposed to be on the other side of the tibia?

  • @bornebius Yes dear ..

Great video , thank you for sharing ..

You mixed Tibia with Fibula ..

So its Tibia on the inner side of the lower leg, and Fibula on the outer side :)

  • fantastic video! but where is "vastus intermedius"?

  • Please continue this series Sycra!! I'm in a figure drawing class right now and these are really helping out lol

  • Nice vid =)

  • What does the Sartorius do? It doesn't look useful...

  • @cornflash (The pink one)

  • @cornflash It helps lift the whole leg up without that muscle you would not be able to kick or pretty much anything. It also plays a roll in the turning of the leg.

  • What I like about Sycra is that he doesn't just make everything flat. He draws everything from the beginning, and moves outwards. Very inspirational, and it kinda feels like the finished faces are staring at me.

  • its nice to see you're back on youtube, your work is an inspiration :)

  • This is really cool

One of the things about anatomy images that always messes with me is trying to tell the muscles apart and which ones overlap, etc.

    This is pretty helpful.

  • aare you a guy or a girl?!?!?

  • U must use layers in Photoshop, dontcha? I would too.

  • no wonder my thighs are so big! thats a lot of muscles.. lol

  • I wish my muscles were bright rainbow colours...:(

  • I didnt know our legs were so colorful! :D

  • MY GOD. Legs have WAY more muscles that I ever thought they did. I hope you continue to show more of the leg, and maybe a full one soon :)

  • thanks for teachin

  • now that you draw it it all makes sense

you are the answer to to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything

  • @TimeBreaker1987 hes 42

  • have you ever considered drawing for science text books!?! :D

  • Fantastic as always.

  • yay for mis-colored muscles

  • omg O.O u should be a doctor :P lol

  • @MangaFTW96 i hope your doctor knows more than drawing the anatomy of a leg >_>

  • man that was sick! thanks for sharing, makes me want to break out my Bridgmans drawing from life book. good stuff keep e'm coming. :)

  • Thx this really does help the normal teenager about anatomy ;D

  • Nice stuff!!! Can you show us how you draw the hair. Please reply :)

  • What are the brush settings you used? when ever i try to draw something like that it looks really boxy.

  • thats really helpful, you just made my project fly ! :D

  • dude your fantastyc,,,o god...you rock

  • very nice ;D

  • Jeebus, some awesome shit.

How did you go about learning this? Any books you can recommend?

  • @LDNLeon Ah, learning this stuff ain't easy... Especially trying to figure out where the muscles attach to. I use a lot of books and medical diagrams, but for this I used Burne Hogarth's 'Dynamic Anatomy', Sarah Simblet's 'Anatomy for the Artist' and some Bridgman 'Complete Guide to Drawing from Life' mainly.

  • @Sycra Oh cool, I was just going to ask that. Thanks again :D

  • @Sycra Thank you very much.

  • @LDNLeon "Classic Human Anatomy" by Valerie L. Winslow isn't too bad either...

  • @LDNLeon I just picked up a book by Frederic Delavier called 'Strength Training Anatomy'... It is awesome! Wish I had this book before I made this video. Definitely recommend it.

  • @Sycra I study in Ireland and the one suggestion i have is Stanley Monkhouse's clinical anatomy. Fantastic book, very simplified, lots of helpful and not meaningless drawings and finally it actually makes sense which is rare to find in a anatomy book.

  • wow that was rlly cool. its so complicated wow
