You can still find masonite siding at building supply companies however the number of manufacturers is quite a bit lower than 20 years ago. The problem will be finding a texture to match as there aren't as many choices, and some of the work we've done at My Handyman has been difficult as customers want an exact match when it's not feasible.

If you are trying to sell.....in California....you need to pull a pest report that will show any dry rot needing to be fixed. I would do the pest report first and replace EVERYTHING that is on the report. From my experience, there is going to be more repairs needed after that siding is removed.

Masonite siding is the devil. I'm a painting contractor in California and this product should be outlawed!  I had a client with rotten masomite siding and I told them to contact the manufacturer for a warranty claim. Weyerhouser paid 100% to replace and paint the siding. Everyone wants to blame the painter....but if you have masonite siding...you have a bad product that will need to be replaced.

@jjoraz ... hey how would u find the manufacturer for my composite siding? mine isw falling apart everywhere .. its bad!
