Hi lisa, I just bought lavera foundation in number 02. But is so rosy for me! I've got yellow undertone, more to olive skin. Any ideas to make suitable for my colouring? thanks.
finally!!! Someone who does organic make up! I was watching a lot of make up videos in here and they only use the make up with all the weired stuff including silicon in it...
I love makeup but started developing sensitivities or allergies to many foundations a few years ago. Since then I've only been able to wear mineral foundation. Would love a tutorial on this topic!
Lisa, I'd love it if you could do another organic video soon. It would be great if you could approach it as you would one of your other videos, using a highlighter and primer and everything. I know Vapour makes some great ones. 100% Pure has some lovely products as well.
I love Lisa, she is so beautiful and talented. For anyone who doubts that organic and/or natural cosmetics can compete with traditional brands I recommend checking out Spirit Beauty Lounge. A site/boutique started by a former model that is just amazing! They carry so many beautiful high end products/brands which perform incredibly. I, personally, have found the cosmetics carried by Whole Foods to be disappointing in terms of color selection, performance, and occasionally quality. Unfortunately
Lisa, when you said, "I'm going to do quite a soft smokey eye." I thought, well, you really don't have much of a choice because that eye shadow is horrible. I mean, the payoff is absolutely wretched!
Laughed my ass off at 5:50 when we all know you were thinking, "where the hell is the eyeshadow?" I was wondering that myself because even though you kept applying it, nothing was happening on the lid. Needless to say, organic makeup is wretched. Honestly, there is nothing wrong with silicone, it is not absorbed into the skin. As for parabens, I might become a believer after I have seen the research that proves it's harmful.
lisa, i accidentally purchased the korres quercetin & oak concealer (anti-aging/antiwrinkle) instead of the wild rose concealer brightening. Do you know if one or the other is better for sensitive skin?
when you said korres has a yellow base I was immediately attracted to it because my skin color is a dark tan and most darker foundations are too brown or too light as in beige. I'm more yellow toned. great tutorial
Just did a review on Julie Gabriel's book: The Green Beauty Guide. Hope you'll take a look. Beautiful tutorials, would love to see darker skin/black models in the future. ND
a lot of the products you recomend are very hard to get here in america. i know that you do talk about channel, sephora, mac, and so on. but its brands like vichy, la roche posay, rmk, and suqqu that id love to try but are not widely available to an american market. now i do love that all of these brands you just mentioned are something i can find! so i can at least try these.. but i think you should do reselling. especially on brands like suqqu. im sure everyone would agree to buying it off you
Firstly, congratulations for being bold and start building the whole makeup without anything on your face.Your video is the best i have seen inside youtube concerning make-up.I love the classy beauty you've got and the adorable, calm person you seem to be.Great make-up,great style, fantasic jewells and amazing analysis, you are what i was lookin' for.Could tell me if i can find the brand Lavera in Greece?I have almost everything from Korres.Thank you so much for the video.
I don't know how organic this brand is but they have TONS of different colors for eyeshadow, foundation, blush, etc. It's called Alima Pure and i definetly recommend it. (:
I just can't make Bio Detox work for me. even if I put it on 10 minutes after the moisturizer it literally peels of in chunks. no matter how little I use. Any advice?
Sorry i've found the answer in your site: Lavera - Natural Liquid Foundation - Porcelain #1 thank you, now I know what color take! We have very similar skin color :)
Could you recommend or demonstrate more organic make-up items? I think it's more suitable for daily use. I love Lavera liquid foundation which you recommended. ^^
your pigmentation on the skin looks much better, it's almost gone, are you using something new in your skincare or did you go for some laser procedures? i'm wondering what worked for you.
I think this would look better without the foundation, it makes the face look too fake. Your skin is really nice anyway. But nice eyes and lip colour and awesome vids :)
After seeing your videos, I decided to go and get the bio detox foundation from bourjois and it is one of the best foundations I ever used for my problematic skin (I have a very sensitive, oily and acne prone skin)! It is way better than the 100% natural pouder foundation from Yves Rocher.
I use a lot of alverde's products (skin and hair care and make-up) and they are pretty amazing (thei are great for sensitive skin).
hi! may i ask what skin type do you have... me, i am normal to combination oily skin and my problem now is pimples popping on my forehead and starting on my right cheek grrr.... and also dark pimple marks.... may i know your suggestions on healing them and preventing them as well... thank u so much
I know a lot about organic cosmetics and Lavera and dr Hauschka are genuine organic brands. The skincare is the best but don't get me started on the color selection of the make up. One word comes to mind: limited.
@lisaeldridgedotcom Agree, take note organic brands. There actually is a very viable market for these products, so please gives us more/better choice!
@suripopje Are you familiar with Vapour Organics? They make fabulous all natural products, and come in a variety of colors. I have some reviews on my channel :)
Yesterday I bought the Korres Lip butter in pomegranate and i LOVE it. The texture is so creamy and moisturizing and the color makes my lips look so healthy and naturally beautiful. THANK YOU lisa!
Thank you so much for posting his video. I have been curious about natural make up brands since I started to eat more organic and less processed foods. I watched it twice and took notes - you have given me many good places to start my natural make up collection. Thank you!
Hi! I've been thinking about the body shop's make up products but I don't know how organic they are and their quality. I would really like to know what you think about that brand and maybe about Yeves Rocher too. Thanks. Very interesting video.
I am from Germany and use Dr. Hauschka, too. and I just cut off half of the eyeliner brush... So I am really calmed now that it was not my inappropriated use of the brush, that made it impossible
.Thanks for all your videos! lovely to watch in the evening, planning my next-day-outfit!
Hiiii! I just found your page and am in love with this look! So much so that I've subscribed. On a sidenote though, I was wondering if you could let me know what brand of gold/stone rings you are wearing that color is just so lovely. I'd really like them x
Wow! I love this! You are always beautiful, but this look just enhances your beauty so much. Absolutely gorgeous! I think this is my favorite look I've seen from you!
thank you for this video! i use only organic product for make up and skin care and my skin looks really really better! silicones and paraffinum/petrolatum close my pores :( My favourite liquid foundation is "Vegan Liquid Foudation" by "The All Natural Face" i also love mineral powder foundation! "everyday minerals" and "neve make up" make a lovely eyeshadows and blush. You are gorgeous Lisa!
Being a pro makeup artist i know how important it is to have great cosmetics without the nasty chemicals and additives that go with a lot of cosmetics...
I have found it...I know use these great products on a daily basis ! in fact i have a business with this company now that's how fantastic they are !!
All Premium swiss formulated and botanical and VEGAN APPROVED !
Being a pro makeup artist i know how important it is to have great cosmetics. I have found a range that is not only premium swiss botanical formulations, they are all vegan approved !!!
AHH I know Lavera! Lol I'm excited 'cause I thought noone knew them. I'm not really satisfied in their probucts though. I have made a video on them actually.. It's cool to know you know them too lol
i had that blush by dr hauschka but the light color was gone way faster than the darker one... maybe the dark one is pressed harder...i don't know... that was kind of annoying
I've heard that the Clinique Anti-Blemish Solutions foundation is very good for breakouts and it comes in a decent range of shades. It is pricier that Rimmel, but if you have any problems with it I'm sure they would give you a refund :)
Hi Lisa, have you tried Une natural make up? They are owned by bourjois and some of the products are certified by ecosert, they are sold in superdrug so are easy to find. Do you think they are any good?
lisa, you always show products you love, which is great, maybe you could do a video showing us what you don't like! Anyways, you are my favourite mua and I am always looking forward to you next video xxxx :)
Hi Lisa, how do you like the Korres Wild Rose Brightening pressed powder? do you think it sets the foundation well? and how would it work for oily skin?
I think the majority of cosmetic companies don't have a great selection of foundation colours - I have a lot of problem finding a foundation shade that match my skin because I'm extremely pale. I live in Sweden and you would think that of all the placed in the world Scandinavia should be the one to go for pale foundation shades but most of the Swedish cosmetic companies have to dark foundations. One a side note - I can't wait until I go to England in December, it's going to be fab!
If you're into Organic & Natural beauty products then you're right, Dr Hauschka is very well known (and rightly so as they're fab) but I'm so glad you mention (& like) Lavera too..we at Amarya love it as well so it's nice to see it getting some good reviews.
Lisa!!! ive been watching all the videos that you have made and i remember the series about old make up. When u used ur ancient vintage make up on a model u said it wasnt safe! ive some old make up that ive been wanting to wear but now im not sure if its ok... could u tell me when the make up starts getting to old for ppl to wear it?
This is a great video but it would be nice to see a tutorial (I watch all of yours) for older women. I'm 46 with (thanks to a lifetime of SPF addition) unwrinkled pale skin but I am hopeless with eyeshadow and picking lipstick colour etc and just not great at applying makeup in general.
Great video Lisa. I only wanted to inform you that Korres does use silicons in their skincare, but they have a "complete" natural line called "materia herba" that is without all the bad ingredients.
do you recommend anything if i have such dry skin on my nose and eyelid area where im actually thinking it might be the beginnings of psoriasis? my foundation always stays on around my face and in my t zone and just looks red and dry
Lisa this is off-topic but I've been using retin-a for my skin and its peeling awfully :(. Do you have any moisturizer recommendations? My skin is being difficult and extra dry. Thank you love :)
Other than the fact that you are phenomenal and I adore your channel, I'd just like to ask if you could recreate the Emma Watson July 2011 VOGUE cover for viewers? She looks stunning and I'd love to see you work your magic and show how to achieve that look. Thank you :)
Sooo glad you did this video!! I am always interested in organic products but was always rather skeptical about the make-up products. I live in Germany and we have Lavera, Dr. Hauschka and Korres here....YAY!! Thanks to your video, I will certainly give them a try now when my present make-up items start to get empty. Have you tried the tinted moisturizer from Korres in the brown tube?
Thanks for introducing an ignorant german to her own countrie's organic make-up (the grass looks so much greener on the other side..) ;)
Of course I know Lavera but I did ignore their make-up totally! The eyeshadow and liner seem very nice...I will check that out!
As I have some broken capillaries on my cheeks, I was told to rather not use products with silicones as under those my skin would feel like under a plastic bag which isnt really good for someone with my skin condition.
I like that you give your opinion as you try the products and are honest about slip and color payoff, etc. It lets us know what to expect so we can learn to work with them.
Hi, I'm the viewer from Norway and even so I'm not make up expert and usuing very few of the coloured prodacts, I'm enjoyin watching your movies couse your voice. It's so calming and relaxing that even if I'm not concentrate it leaves nice feeleing after listening you. This type accent Nigela Lawson has also - you both has similar voices. Really nice. Kind regards.
@cbalation@lisa: RMS is available via justbeautydirect.co.uk
Would you recommend these products? I just stumbled across them when searching for my beloved 100% Pure products (fruit and vegetable pigments in all their make up and skincare line, vegan, mostly organic, I swear by their range) Lisa, have you happened to work with these products? If so, what was your opinion as a make up artist? xoxo and many thanks for the fantastique videos and advice!
Hey, I've got a question. Hope you'll read this. I am from Germany and we've got lavera skin care products here but I've never seen make up. So my question: where did you get this? xx
Hi Lisa! I'm a great fan of yours from Rome, Italy. Since I got interested into the make up world (although I graduated in law :-S) my mother has been asking me to take care of her make up. She's a 63 years old woman with a beautiful skin, but not that young anymore! So I was wondering if it could be possible for you to make a video about middle-age women beauty routine and make up, since also make up habits keep changing during the years! Thank you in advance! Martina.
REQUEST!! Could you do a bridal tutorial, but something more dramatic than the usual 'natural bride' look. I wear quite strong make-up, so feel I wouldn't look like myself if I did a natural look for my wedding day. Thanks
i know this is off topic from the video but is it true that animal testing is banned by the european union? does that mean i can assume that cosmetics that are made in france for england are cruelty-free?
@MagicMirrorOnTheWall yes its true. After years of talks, all testing of cosmetic products was banned in the EU in 2009. So no EU registered companies (that includes ones which have labs outside the EU) can test their products on animals. In addition to that, all the companies and labs that I work with have a rule whereby raw material suppliers can not have tested within a certain amount of years policy too. There are many new and more technically effective options for testing products now
I love your make up but I'm not so good. Please help me. I have slip-lider. they depend on how much I sleep. what can I do? I also have extreme problem skin on the cheeks. The skin can´t good cover .. Do you have a recommendation. can you give me a recommendation for good coverage powder or makeup. I live in Germany .. and it should not exceed the limit of 5 ....:) sorry for my english
HEYgirlies, silicone can be really harm (besides causing silly acne problems). It can cause Scleroderma...a terrifying disease. Think twice before purchasing a silicone based product...Especially if you have different allergies...
@xGleamy not serious ones no. There are brands which add various natural extracts to their formulations and therefore claim to have an all 'natural' brand but these same formulations have all the chemicals, silicones and parabens etc etc too. In the UK these ranges are more likely to be available in a health food store (like whole food market) than a drugstore. Anyone seriously looking for these types of brands tend to shop somewhere like that. That may change with time of course x
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
There is nothing wrong with petrochemicals, actually they are the most non-reactive and safe ingredients in skin care and makeup. Plant extract this and that...I'm sorry, but it is just rubbish that can cause severe allergic reactions.
@holdkaeftima I personally dont mind any preservatives, silicones, parabens etc in make-up...my kit is full of them and I'd be a hypocrite to pretend otherwise. However, if its important to someone for whatever reason, not to have these things in their cosmetics then that has to be respected and taken seriously. This video was specially requested by a large group of viewers for whom this is key. There is room for everyones views and opinions (pro and anti pertrochemicals etc) here x
@lisaeldridgedotcom It's not a matter of opinion, it is a fact that petrochemicals are the safest ingredients. But hey, if you don't wanna support the oil industry then I guess there's no way around it :D
@holdkaeftima Oh jesus christ....She never said IT WAS. She made this video for a group of viewers who requested a look with organic/ natural brands, and if those women choose to use natural products who are you to have a say in it?
Your videos always remind me that make-up doesn't have to be complex with 50 products in order to be beautiful. I love that you use liquid liner with no flick - I can't do flicks, and yet each time I get my liquid liner out I feel I should do a flick, but it always ends in disaster. Thanks for your simple but beautiful looks.
Hi, dear Lisa, I NEED HELP!! i was shopping at the dior stand, then lady in charge suggested to put mke up for me, just to try out new stuff..first i didnt have any wrinkles since im not that old.. however, she tried an eye cream for me called L'OR DE VIE, a very expensive product yet caused wrinkles around and beneath my eyes after 5 hrs of applying it, it was a magical product since dark circles disappeared directly once she applied it! but it damaged my eyes!! what to do? R.H.. London

thank you for this video! i use only organic product for make up and skin care and my skin looks really really better! silicones and paraffinum/petrolatum close my pores :( My favourite liquid foundation is "Vegan Liquid Foudation" by "The All Natural Face" i also love mineral powder foundation! "everyday minerals" and "neve make up" make a lovely eyeshadows and blush. You are gorgeous Lisa!

i had that blush by dr hauschka but the light color was gone way faster than the darker one... maybe the dark one is pressed harder...i don't know... that was kind of annoying

Very interesting as always. I think thats what I need, brands where the colours are subtle so I don’t end up using too much colour.
You’re the best!

Lisa, i keep breaking out with the foundations i use. I use rimmel foundations..
What can i use instead?
mekissingyou 8 months ago
@mekissingyou

Do you think they are any good?

linhduong0809 8 months ago
I think the majority of cosmetic companies don't have a great selection of foundation colours - I have a lot of problem finding a foundation shade that match my skin because I'm extremely pale. I live in Sweden and you would think that of all the placed in the world Scandinavia should be the one to go for pale foundation shades but most of the Swedish cosmetic companies have to dark foundations. One a side note - I can't wait until I go to England in December, it's going to be fab!
TwiggytheGirl 8 months ago

Hello Lisa,
Other than the fact that you are phenomenal and I adore your channel, I'd just like to ask if you could recreate the Emma Watson July 2011 VOGUE cover for viewers?

MagicMirrorOnTheWall 8 months ago 5
@MagicMirrorOnTheWall yes its true. After years of talks, all testing of cosmetic products was banned in the EU in 2009. So no EU registered companies (that includes ones which have labs outside the EU) can test their products on animals. In addition to that, all the companies and labs that I work with have a rule whereby raw material suppliers can not have tested within a certain amount of years policy too. There are many new and more technically effective options for testing products now

HEYgirlies, silicone can be really harm (besides causing silly acne problems). It can cause Scleroderma...a terrifying disease. Think twice before purchasing a silicone based product...Especially if you have different allergies...
webcountess 8 months ago
aren't there any drugstore organic brands in the UK? great video :)
xGleamy 8 months ago 3
@xGleamy not serious ones no. There are brands which add various natural extracts to their formulations and therefore claim to have an all 'natural' brand but these same formulations have all the chemicals, silicones and parabens etc etc too. In the UK these ranges are more likely to be available in a health food store (like whole food market) than a drugstore. Anyone seriously looking for these types of brands tend to shop somewhere like that. That may change with time of course x
lisaeldridgedotcom 8 months ago 3
This comment has received too many negative votes show
There is nothing wrong with petrochemicals, actually they are the most non-reactive and safe ingredients in skin care and makeup. Plant extract this and that...I'm sorry, but it is just rubbish that can cause severe allergic reactions.
holdkaeftima 8 months ago
@holdkaeftima I personally dont mind any preservatives, silicones, parabens etc in make-up...my kit is full of them and I'd be a hypocrite to pretend otherwise. However, if its important to someone for whatever reason, not to have these things in their cosmetics then that has to be respected and taken seriously. This video was specially requested by a large group of viewers for whom this is key. There is room for everyones views and opinions (pro and anti pertrochemicals etc) here x
lisaeldridgedotcom 8 months ago 73
@lisaeldridgedotcom It's not a matter of opinion, it is a fact that petrochemicals are the safest ingredients. But hey, if you don't wanna support the oil industry then I guess there's no way around it :D
holdkaeftima 8 months ago
@holdkaeftima Oh jesus christ....She never said IT WAS. She made this video for a group of viewers who requested a look with organic/ natural brands, and if those women choose to use natural products who are you to have a say in it?

Your videos always remind me that make-up doesn't have to be complex with 50 products in order to be beautiful. I love that you use liquid liner with no flick - I can't do flicks, and yet each time I get my liquid liner out I feel I should do a flick, but it always ends in disaster. Thanks for your simple but beautiful looks.

Hi, dear Lisa, I NEED HELP!! i was shopping at the dior stand, then lady in charge suggested to put mke up for me, just to try out new stuff..first i didnt have any wrinkles since im not that old.. however, she tried an eye cream for me called L'OR DE VIE, a very expensive product yet caused wrinkles around and beneath my eyes after 5 hrs of applying it, it was a magical product since dark circles disappeared directly once she applied it! but it damaged my eyes!! what to do?
