You have got to put this on your next CD, along with Blue Moon of KY, and Cold cold Heart. I need a daily dose of you girls. It makes me feel more alive and gets my heart a jumping for joy!! Love you Quebe Sisters
Kittra, I knew a bassist named Bob Moore many years ago. He was a skinny curly haired kid, but I was a skinny wavy heaired kid back then...circa 1973, Boston, Freddie Taylor's places...Paul's Mall, Jazz Workshop...same guy?
These folks have resurrected my interest in cowboy jazz. The girls sign and play great, the bassist is superb, and the guitarist has the perfect instrument for what they're doing. The old Gibson (early 1950's L5?) has some punch.
Heck fire folks, when are you gonna play, Billy Bobs, Nokia Theatre or Bass Hall? Im gonna send this youtube session to the Rick Shaggs website. Yall are really talented.
I saw the Q Sisters and band at the DC Foklife Festival today, and they are GREAT! Beautiful three-party harmony and voice-over, they sound like a cross between Les Paul and Mary Ford and the Andrews Sisters. Plus a captivating, vivacious demeanour. Hope they get the recognition they deserve.
Agree. Saw them three time at the folk fest. Great talent here...wonderful musical tastes, like a time machine radio, The opened for Marty Stuart on Mon nite at the Birchmere. I spoke to the guitarist on Sun. There's some things happening for them. You saw them at the beginning.
WOW! wonderful! so refreshing compared to the hype and over production of most contemporary"country" acts. Bob Wills, Asleep at the Wheel and the Andrew Sisters. If there is any justice in the music world they are going to go far. Thanks for the video of my new favorites.
Hey Q Sisters, this is my new favorite song of yours! love to the Q's and Joey and Sherry and Drew, see you soon again I hope, please come back to Boston, rhymes with Austin!
C'mon Skybaby, the Dixie Chicks aren't even worthy of carrying these girls' fiddle cases. They are not even in the same universe...These girls are studied, talented artists.
This is just sooooo good. I'm surprised they don't list the Mills Brothers as influences, as they seem to be basing many of their vocal arrangements on them. No bad thing in my book!
This is great! The sisters' vocals are tight, their fiddling is flawless and they swing. To me though it is the guitar and bass that really drives the song (as they should). That guitar player is awesome.
I met the Quebe Sisters several years ago when they played at the Western Fiddlers' showcase in Belton TX. They were shy little girls and this I think was their 1st public performance. They could play back then and BOY look at and listen to them now.
there sure is a piano on the last chorus

@JOHNRWA
sorry there was some feedback on my headset, and sounded like a piano in the background.
tnreb1977 1 year ago
There's not supposed to be a piano but it sure sounds like one on the last chorus.

@tnreb1977 definitely a piano being played....it comes in and gets louder from around 3mins 23seconds and works a treat.

@oneinthemagicaltree In an interview the guitarist says his geetar is a L12 - basically the same as an L5, but less fancy in it`s decoration.

The original Dixie chicks did bluegrass. The MTV owned CMT pop-star made dixie chicks are not bluegrass or anything like it.
stopglobalswarming 3 years ago
Sorry, you're wrong. The original Dixie Chicks played western swing and toured with Asleep at the Wheel.
