  • Seeing this commercial on TV was the first exposure to Zelda I ever had.

How different my life would have been without it....

  • I think of this as a commercial to the series in general. No need to overthink it, it's just cool

  • Notice how the gameplay only takes place in Dragon Roost cavern and Forsaken Fortress...

  • Strange, I remember the original being shorter with better music and thus more Epic.

Of course it is Zelda, what else is link's destiny?

Loved this game. IN my top five easily. seems so long ago now.

  • I think that's Zelda. She's talking about the legend and the legend is about him saving Zelda, not his sister.

Also she sounds like a young Emma Watson. Wouldn't that just be wild.

  • was that supposed to be zelda or aryll?

  • What the fuck.....

  • This commercial...would've been better for TP. I mean the live action bits are so dark yet WW is so cartoony and colorful. Plus it seems like she's walking on a landmass, whilst WW is filled with Ocean and Islands.

  • Anyone wondering happen to the Majora's mask? if the toon link series is based in future to the hero of time timeline. should someone have found the mask in the middle of fishing trip or a underwater treasure hunter finding the chest that contain the MM or something?

  • Is that the voice actress of Leliana from Dragon Age???

  • Man people who hate this game because of the cel shaded graphics are missing out on one of the best storys in an video game. This is by far one of the best zeldas. The final battle was so fucking sick

  • @hyrulehero96 And people who hate this game because of the cel shaded graphics are also missing out on some of the most beautiful graphics in video game history. Twilight Princess already looks old (not to mention TP's Link is hollow and expressionless), but Wind Waker's visuals have proven timeless. Wind Waker's visuals have style, personality, and charm. They're vibrant and endearing.

The fact that Twilight Princess followed this up was a joke. Hopefully Skyward Sword is more WW and less TP.

  • @SloganYams Damn right. All the other games form this time look like dirt now, but WW is still a beautiful game. Art lasts when realism fades.

  • yeeah i was more interested in the n64's oot and majora's mask storyline since they pretty much were the same link

  • This my favorite zelda commercial

  • To save her? Who the fuck is she? Not Zelda, that's who.

  • @KingdomheartsII In the wind waker his little sister gets kidnapped. Thats who he saves.

  • @ratchan1

The bitch in the cloak isn't Aryll.

  • This would had actual made more sense as a Twilight Princess; ad.

  • Thumbs up if you think this should get money. gotta love how they did it.

  • Shit this brings back memories

  • I love this commercial. I remember it to this day.

  • Thumbs up if you hate people who ask for thumbs up.

  • thumbs up if when u look at zelda in the black hood you think of twilight princess

  • This wakes me sad I turned away windwaker just because of how it looks....D:

  • @mrman7631 Wow. I enjoy the cartoony effect.

  • @mrman7631 How do u feel about Skyward Sword?

  • I saw this commercial at least once before. I thought it was the most epic commercial ever. It still is, though there are some close runner-ups.

  • one of my favorite games i still have

  • Comment removed

  • fuck all the zeldas this was my favorite

  • @jtrigoura1 I despise you and toon link. Burn in hell both of you.

  • @StormsMusic alright bro its cool that you stick to your opinion

  • @jtrigoura1 I will thank you ಠ_ಠ

  • @StormsMusic if you wouldnt mind how do you make that smiley :D

  • @jtrigoura1 I don't want to tell you, so you can just go ahead and copy paste it.

  • @StormsMusic dude com on

  • God damn it America!!! you may be able to fool the random casual gamer who plays BS shooters all day with this comercial but you can't fool A Zelda Fan with a comercial that really doesn't relate to the game besides show clips!

  • i remember seeing this commercial, i played the game once a long time ago and thought it wasnt anything special...then i replayed it grown up and i thought it was AWESOME!!!!!!

  • NOT YET RATED

  • @sonofJack3 Wind Waker: Unrated Edition

  • Isn't that Aryll? Cause Link was supposed to save Aryll his sister in the game not zelda/tetra?

  • oh i would like to add, im sure i wasnt the first person who thought that Link was Zelda at first lol :) and anyone else notice that the person speaking who is supposed to be Zelda is clothed in similar clothing as she wore in the beginning of Twilight Princess? some how i think they did that on purpose lol.

  • i never heard of the Legend of Zelda until i saw this ad when the game first came out. i saw this and said "i got to get this game!" i got a Game Cube just to play it lol. and i later got a Game Boy Advance just to use the features that Tingle gives :) so yeah its here where my love for TLoZ began. :)

  • This game is totally awesome.

It was fantastic until you had to find the trifforce -.-

I cant see water anymore. xD

  • Um, the person that is Zelda isn't even aware of it until a good bit into the game so this commercial is probably more relavent to another Zelda game like Ocarina of Time....

  • that was a great commercial.

  • um i think that was a trailer at e3 a while ago cause it looks a little different than the actual game

  • @RiuuzakiL2010 Grammar issues?

  • @RiuuzakiL2010 wind waker is better than oot

  • @TheGoldenMarioBro hell no

  • @youknowthatoneguy123 i enjoyed wind waker more, ocarina of time was too slow for me

  • That mysterious girl its zelda williams :D

  • Great job

  • Thumbs up if you think they should use cell shading to return to the Twilight Princess style

  • damn straight to save you! just cause you cant hold your own and fight back -_-

but it's ok zelda, I still love you. because if it werent for your incompetence in fighting back, there'd be no reason for Link saving the world <3

  • ocarina of time got music from conan the barbarian, wind waker got an actor from harry potter...

  • She looks more like Twilight Princess Zelda

  • so.....Princess Zelda got British accent? lol, and if thats Link's sister then Link is British as well? x3

  • @duranls1 I think British accents just make things sound more... I don't know, heroic?

  • @xxkadieexx guess so, almost forgot what accent the gal on the commercial got but now that watching it do sound very British

  • Looks like something out of a tim burton film :P

  • What is the song of the background? I like it so much! T.T

  • To save, may.

  • Thumbs up if you think they should continue from majoras mask story line

  • @Godsux07 there's a split timeline thanks to OOT.

OOT's adult timeline links to wind waker and the child timeline links to twilight princess. so technicly, twilight princess is the continuation of the majora's mask story line, because the last appearance of child link was in majora's mask, and that timeline goes on to twilight princess.

  • @MrCheckersmcgee But it takes place in a whole new place and the story is completely different, how everything started is different, and well..... everything is different. You can tell this isn't a continuation, they re-did it.

  • @Godsux07 they don't do redos. everything i said is confirmed by nintendo and the creators of zelda.

  • @Godsux07 they did its twilite pricess

  • @TheMrpokemonmaniac no that's a continuation of the adult timeline form ocarina of time. they havent done a continuation from majora's mask which is the child timeline.

  • @Godsux07 no, because if they continued from the majora's mask story, then there would be no more ganon or zelda, two critical characters in any zelda game. and if they DID try to include ganon or zelda in a majora's mask sequel, then it would thoroughly destroy the ocarina of time story which was wrapped up at the end of that game.

  • @Godsux07 Well Skyward Sword is gonna be a prequel of OoT so it's kinda continuing the story line... Backwards.

  • @Godsux07 They did. Its called Twilight Princess.

  • @Godsux07 Twighlight Princess (storyline wise) would be after Majora's Mask as it fits in the child link timeline where after beating ganon in Ocarina of Time and goes back in time and has his quest in majora's mask ( in which at the end link goes back to Hyrule after Termina and then skip ahead like 6-7 years and Twighlight Princess happens.)

  • @Godsux07 twilight princess is from the child timeline

  • @Godsux07 on 3ds and WII

  • is his destiny to kill or seal ganondorf

  • I remember this commercial from a long time ago. The first 3D Zelda game I ever played and it was awesome, still is. :)

  • Gotta love how they didn't do the research at all for this ad.

  • @shinobiflare it's sounds more like she was describing ocarina of time lol

  • @shinobiflare I just love how they show you the beta version of the game.

  • @shinobiflare Back then they didn't. But if you think about Spirit Tracks, This is now Valid.

    :D

Take a moment and let it sink in.

  • @shinobiflare How?

  • @shinobiflare this was probably while WW was still in development.

  • this is kinda creepy...

  • best fuckin commercial ever

  • "In the land of Hyrule, there echoes a legend..." I always feel like that sentence should be displayed at the beginning of every Zelda game, just to remind you that you're about to experience something epic. Kinda like Star Wars's "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away..."

  • this remind anyone else of The Neverending Story? "MARTHAAAAA~"

  • a bit precocious aren't we, princess?

  • Thumb up if u love kicking guys asses with their own weapons

  • First home console Zelda I ever had.

Also, this is one of the most well made commercials ever. The timing of the hurricane blade and the girl's last few phrases was perfect.

  • WHAT!?! i thought that the person

with the cloak was the dark wanderer....

  • This mysterious girl is definitely Zelda. First, because saving Aryll was not his ultimate destiny; rather, it was only the first incident which has dragged him to the main quest. Second, such silhouette, manner and knowledge of the legend seen in this commercial could only belong to the Princess of Hyrule herself.

  • @CintiaObscure

I'm under the impression they wanted us to believe that somewhere in the story you'd hear of a trapped Zelda. All so you wouldn't be suspecting the surprise. It's clever marketing to any Zelda fan.

  • oh maaan i remember this!! <3WW

  • isnt that mysterious chick his sister

  • this reminds me of harry potter the voice it sounds like his in the 1st and 2nd episode

  • One of my favorite zeldas

  • This is why Link shoud find some new garb, looks way to much like Peter Pan.

  • @hungryhungrymetroid but then that would break a tradition. But in TP he looks cool in Magic armor

  • @hungryhungrymetroid Dream on, I seriously doubt that will ever happen. The tunic is an icon in the series just as much as the Triforce.

  • @GameMaestro14 I know, I was joking. The narrator sounds like Wendy or some generic peter pan girl.

  • @hungryhungrymetroid Maybe she is. :O haha What if in the next game Link had a sister named Wendy. IRONY!

  • twilight princess zelda in wind waker?

  • That was supposed to be Zelda narrating? O.o "To Save..........me" she's saying she's Zelda? O.o Since when was Zelda really Herminone Granger in disguise?

  • @HunterMSmith i actually think its april, link's sister. because at the beggining of the game she is kidnapped instead of zelda.

  • @caedgola64 True, there's thart two but still, British Accent lol.

  • @caedgola64 You mean Aryll?

  • Respond to this video... Regardless, that's a good point, but it is mostly likely implied to be Zelda. Afterall, fighting for Zelda is basically a staple goal in the series. It just makes more sense to me that they would advertise LInk fighting to save Zelda.

  • @HunterMSmith well she was desguised as Tera xD

  • @HunterMSmith Since she became a pirate with a really bad tan

  • @HunterMSmith

It's Link's sister, Aryll. Haven't you played Wind Waker?

  • @KyleCondie Except she says: "In the land of Hyrule there echoes a LEGEND held dearly by the ROYAL FAMILY...to save me." So mostly likely its Zelda rather than Ayrll, as it's called the Legend of Zelda, and she happens to be a princess ;)

    (spoiler)

Though probably narrating after she is revealed and saved, as she does not know her destiny yet nor is has history been written or recorded

    (/spoiler)

  • @KyleCondie It's a joke. And yes i've destroyed wind waker a million times

  • @HunterMSmith i think its aryll

  • @HunterMSmith

Actually, I think she was meant to be Aryll

  • Hah, I only liked the dungeons, but I didnt like it because Link wasnt a knight anymore, he was a fuckin pirate...and the story is definatilly not the greatest of all. and they Wind Waker style was mega overused in the series. come on Nintendo its time for something new

  • @darkchamberofdark666 Link was never a knight. And actually, yes, the story in The Wind Waker is one of the best of the series because it's the strongest and has the strongest characters. You can actually sense emotion and motive. Twilight Princess lacked this.

As far as a new visual style goes, you're getting one. So stop complaining.

  • @GameMaestro14 the story was very simular to ocarina of time, too simular. I think twilight princess has a lot of emotion like when Midnas sick and all that stuff, but the most emotional Zelda part was Majoras Mask. but ill stick by my means

  • @darkchamberofdark666 Emotional? Eh, I wouldn't call Majora's Mask an emotional story. If anything, I would confidently say that I think Majora's Mask is the darkest story of the series, with it's apocalyptic theme.

I found Wind Waker to have far more emotion than Twilight Princess. Not to say that Twilight Princess was bad in any way, but Wind Waker had far more emotion in the characters, in the scenes, and even in the music. (recalls three scenes with Link and his grandmother)

  • @GameMaestro14 Did you play the whole game, like when the Zora and Goron dies they leave their last words, and in the sidequests you see the darker part like Kafei and Anju and that Skull Kid only was evil because of his lost friendship and not to forget to mention the reunion of Pamela and her cursed father

  • @darkchamberofdark666 Yeah, I guess so. Even so, let's face it, Wind Waker was built around the emotion of the characters. They even advertised the expression of emotion with the characters' faces.

  • @GameMaestro14 well I must say it has more contact with the people in the overworld almost nobody ignores you. But I didnt really felt like that. Wind Waker was probably the 1st Zelda you played? Cuz thatll explain alot I probably feel different of the WindWaker since my first was Ocarina of Time and I just think the games are too similar except that I like Ocarina more

  • @darkchamberofdark666 Nah, my first was Ocarina of Time, even though I played it rather late. I never said I think Ocarina of Time OR Majora's Mask were inferior to The Wind Waker. I only said that The Wind Waker has one of the strongest stories of the series because of the characters. Ocarina of Time is also one of the best stories, but for different reasons. The characters were not nearly as strong, but that's because the older character models limited the expression of feeling in them.

  • @GameMaestro14 maybey I didnt just like how the game was, I just have my opinion I guess its useless making a freakin forum bout somethin you wont convince me to

  • @darkchamberofdark666 Oh don't be so sensitive, I was only making a point for sake of discussion. It's not personal.

  • @GameMaestro14 *sigh, I wasnt sensitive I just wanted to make things clear and its kinda annoying answering all the time when you watch a movie

  • @darkchamberofdark666 Instead, what made Ocarina of Time's Story so great was that, quite simply, the premise was just compelling. It was an epic adventure story with a twist of the time travel element. So, if anything, I'd say Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker are about equal in quality. Both amazing for their own reasons.

  • Last good Zelda commercial if I do remember.

  • this game and OoT is neck-on-neck in terms of loz games

  • i still play it

  • the boy never grew he stayed at same length for the rest of his life "The End XD"

  • Is this the beta version?

  • son of a mother duck THATS AWASOME

  • This is actually my favorite Zelda game. I'm sorry OoT fans, but this game is just better in my opinion. The art style is amazing. Though some people hate it, I love it! It was my first Zelda game and my personnel favorite.

  • @JackChaseStudios yeah, best zelda ever

  • @JackChaseStudios It's more polished, and has a stronger narrative. Ocarina of Time is still a classic, though, so I can't say I think one is better than the other. I will say confidently, though, that I think The Wind Waker was way better than Twilight Princess. I felt overall Twilight Princess was a bit of a step down.

  • i have gotta buy me a gamecube and this game and play again

  • I still remember this commercial, I got so excited for Wind Waker!

  • When I first got to the part with the triforce pieces I got really pissed off and just stopped playing. Then, 5 or 6 years later, I bought another copy and decided to suck it up and finish the damn game. It was definitely worth it.

  • @xxkadieexx Wow d00d you must've sucked lol.

  • @llordkayne Haha... I did. I was only like 8 or 9 though.

  • @xxkadieexx Hehe, I see, Well no wonder when I got windwaker i was 13 lol

  • @xxkadieexx

I played the triforce search with a walkthrough right from the start, it was too annoying =.=

  • @xxkadieexx I quit at the same time for like 4 years then started again and finish the ending was awesome.

  • @xxkadieexx I did the exact same thing! Excepet I held onto my copy because I never get rid of games (and I didn't wait quite that long...more like 3 or 4 years I think). Once I finished i I felt so silly for waiting.

  • If that person's in the the forsaken fortress, it cannot be Zelda, it has to be Arryl

  • ....You missed the scenes with the BOAT. <<

  • now we know wat zelda sounds like

  • @lokai101

it's links sister Arryl not Zelda....

  • @TheFailing1 oh ok but still

  • @TheFailing1 There doesn't seem to be any official answer. It does look like the Forsaken Fortress she's in, but at the same time, it makes more sense to advertise with Zelda in that narrator damsel in distress role.

So, who knows? We may never know.

  • The World in the game is so huge it will take 3 moths (if your'e good) to finish to a 100%

  • omg, the video picture that show's a part in a video when you uploaded it, it looked like Link from Twilight Princess in a black lizard suit o_o

  • favorite commercial of all time for me! :D

  • This game was really good.

  • @metalmilitia89

yet ocarina of time is still the best

  • @papermariodude101 LttP > OoT

  • @SloganYams

not even close. The wolf part was annoying and ocarina of time was basically the start of his adventure. Oot is 10x better Lttp<OoT

  • @papermariodude101 Wolf part? I think you're thinking of Twilight Princess, I was referring to A Link to the Past. Both Wind Waker and Ocarina are way better than Twilight Princess.

  • @SloganYams I don't know what makes me love Twilight Princess so much, I'm sure it's NOT the graphics... but the characters, Midna, Zant, that AWESOME looking Ganondorf was also a reason why I loved it so much. Guess I'm the only one that LOVES it. And that epic final Ganondorf battle, Wind Waker's Ganondorf battle was better, tho.

  • @shadowfan001 Twilight Princess is a great game, I just feel it's weaker than the other 3D Zeldas. But my favorite is still A Link to the Past.

I liked a lot of aspects of Twilight Princess, but I didn't like the dungeon designs and overall atmosphere as much, and I wasn't the biggest fan on a lot of the character designs). But of course it was great nonetheless.

But Wind Waker has my favorite version of Ganon. It was the only time he wasn't just pure evil, but was actually kind of remourceful

  • @SloganYams Made it seem like what he was doing was partialy or possibly born out of the need to help his people and sorta turned into somthing more dark as the years past

  • @MrCheckersmcgee Exactly. In Wind Waker there was more to Ganon. He seemed saddened by the loss of the world he knew, and was doing whatever he could to bring it back. It seemed he grew dark desires from what was originally an honest quest. Definitely the most in-depth version of Ganon to date.

  • I remember this and loved it. But yes it was confusing if you beat the game. Yes he had to save his SISTER who was kidnapped. But his destiny is to save ZELDA/TETRA. So take it with a grain of salt people. I guess marketing had the early script for the game.

  • @tntjperic The character's motive to help Zelda was not only his understanding of the consequences for doing nothing, but also his desire to help her after all she did for him. It was not destiny. That's Twilight Princess' excuse. "Oh, it's just his destiny. So he had to." Yeah, no. Pathetic explanation.

  • I remember this commercial. It's still as great as it was years ago!

  • confused is it zelda/tetra or the sister? :s come to think of it the sister wud make more sense seein as zelda/tetra is kidnapped near the end

  • What's really great about this commercial is that it really hides the true plot to the game.

  • It's probably Tetra that's talking. (Her name is Tetra King of Red Lions illegally changed her name to Zelda)

  • The complete opposite of Ma
