insomniac is their punkiest album in my opinion. not only are the melodies less poppy but it really has the simplicity of a ramones record: every song features only ONE guitar line, no melodic guitar and no solos.

that way they can perfectly recreate insomniac live, unlike those skate punk dudes like blink-182. every fucking song has at least one overdubbed melodic guitar part and tom can only play one line live! how NOT punk is that!?
