Manic miner takes me right back to me childhood, can remember the loading wait and it usually took the exact time to load as it took me to eat a packet of space raiders... those were the days :D

Two classic speccy games. You need to collect the box of donuts and the horn as Head. This was one of my favourite games after Ultimate done a runner. Great graphics and a massive playing area. This one kept me going for a few weeks. Manic Miner what can you say. Total class! Two great games for the price of one!
Spinny I wasn't a big fan of the isometric games.. manic miner ,well it was the first game my mum ever bought for me when I was 10 (back in 83) .. that and Lunar Jetman.. who'd have thought she'd have such good taste? sadly , both were bought from woolies... Matthew Smith legendary status along with more Jeff MInter etc, Just a pity what the suits in the software industry did to his work
My first speccy game was Atic Atac so I was hooked on Ultimate especially when Knight Lore came out. The Isometric games interested me after that. Mums do have good taste most of the time. Two good solid games with no bugs in sight. In the end it comes down to profits and games suffer as a result. The early speccy days were the best. Bedroom programmers - brilliant!
was it knight Lore and Alien 8 that were basically the same game? if I recall.. obviously the same engine.. but they just changed the graphics. I used to get games from a local shop, errm and the thing is it was amazing how many companies were local to me in London. Krakatoa / all or nothing were made down the road from me. which I didn't realize till years later. The remake of HOH on retrospec is very nice though, but their Lunar Jetman I have more time for =)

Yeah. Basically the same game but with obvious differences and both released at the same time. Some of those remakes are excellent.
