  • That background music is annoying as hell. I can't focus on what you're trying to say because of it being too loud. Smh.

  • Where is the council people or senators of these districts or Habitat fro Humanity?

  • Why there are many cars. Lol

  • I appreciate what you're trying to do, but I think you're missing the mark a bit.

This video would be a lot better if it had substantive interviews with people in poverty, or experts or community leaders. Going around and pointing a camera at poor people and telling everyone how sorry they should feel for them is an insult to their dignity.

  • @stantparker -- okay... I take that back. You had some good interviews in some of your other videos.

  • And when you live out in a rural area like this how are you expected to get around without a car? There aint no grocery stores, no markets.. you won't find poverty like this in a place that isn't car dependent and seperated from any sort of urban settlement. Shame on these people for having vehicles so they can purchase food and clothes with the little money they have?

More like shame on you for being ignorant.

  • I agree with what she is saying but wondering where they got all the cars from in Canada if someone was this poor they wouldn't have a car!

  • Reminds me of my experience living in the Delta. In 1999 my parents came up with this genius idea of moving to the Delta to be with family. Well it was a huge culture shock being from Central NY and to find people living in conditions just like you are presenting. We were even forced to live in horrible conditions because my parents had "bad" credit and could not afford to buy or build a home. It's a complicated mess down there with the laws but it can be fixed with help from the outside.

  • You say F*** the USA I say F*** you. IF you dont like it get the hell out of here aint nobody gonna miss ya!

  • There is no true help but self-help!

  • curious funny attitude.

Of course they have vehicles. If they can't drive they will not get to the grocery store. But why all the energy spent into a car and not fixing the house - they are escaping. At least when at the supermarket they have image. They have no hope of changing their dwelling but at least towards the outside world they have the illusion of not being that poor. Why 2 cars - often more than one family lives inside these little places. Obviously depression is common.

  • did u notice also the nice lovely cars they have, 2 of them, we work our asses off and only have 1 car, must be nice to have 2, guess they decided the cars were more important than putting a window in the house, they allll have cars in the driveways, and we are supposed to help them, sell ur cars, not like u need them to go to work

  • @66dutchy One nice car on the block and it's a big deal? If you actually watch the video through all of the other cars are incredibly typical of impoverished families. If you drive down a street in any of the worst neighborhoods in Detroit, **where I live**, you will find at least two houses with a brand new car on any given block. It's just how it is. Not to mention that the Scion, brand new, is **dirt cheap anyway** for being brand new.

  • did u notice also the nice lovely cars they have, 2 of them, we work our asses off and only have 1 car, must be nice to have 2, guess they decided the cars were more important than putting a window in the house

  • There are whtie, black, hispanic, asian people spread out across the USA living in 3rd world poverty. I am sick of the lies of this country, god doesn't bless america, fuck the USA

  • where the crack houses at?

  • I know that if she was living in Michigan and we have poverty here in Detroit, Michigan lost of jobs. But I have never seen nothing like this it brought tears to my eyes. I am a mother of 3 and I know that social services would of been involved quickly.

  • This is my main concern. What about the welfare system if they see poor conditions like this what are they doing about this. My biggest concern is the children. If they were living in Detroit, Michigan and the homes in worse conditions like I see in this video they would of got some help. Those home are not fix for children to be living in them at all.

  • @nicole6271 Welfare in Mississippi is a joke. The State prides itself on having one of the smallest budgets because they only provide the minimum amount of cash assistance which is $110 a month for the first person and $36 for the second and $24 for each additional person. And you are required to report for "work" 5 days a week at a state agency like the closest Health Department for your $110 a month. Very few waste their time with welfare. They want to work.

  • It's no big news that folks in rural areas are hit differently by poverty, but most these folks have a home. That means they have a roof over their head. What about the poor, particularly in cities, without a home? They're on the street. And are you saying because they live in the South and have a barrel of cotton around that they're slaves? What or to whom are they slaves?

  • American suburbia was built around the car. You don't have a car, you don't live. It's the first and best con ever. As anyone who has ever owned a car knows, it's an open cheque and you've got to keep it going or you're finished.

  • How can I get involved?

  • What about those cars parked in front of each of those houses!?Let's put all your minds and hearts together and build yourself a future. The government it's useless,it's time for a new world where the people can govern themselves without the intermediaries of some selfish bureaucrats.Universal Love be upon us.Life is a daily miracle.

  • Habitat For Humanity needs to go down there and give these people decent homes. The ones they do have need to be condemned.

  • No offense to the poster. I really respect what you are doing. Most people who are poor are not poor by choice. Keep doing what you do.

  • I just have an attenna on my tv. In the USA people sometimes expect too much but no one deserves to live like this. Someone should get the landlords to fix the places up.

I got caught up in the acesses of the USA at one point and it really made me poor. I had cable tv yet I lived in a drug infested area now I gave up those exceesses and I live on $1200 per month.

  • I would rather take that extra 800 or so and spend it on a nicer place to live.

Then again I don't these people's stories and how they ended up like this. I feel bad for people who live like this but I don't know why they need such nice cars. I saw another video where someone lived in an old dilapadated house yet had satellite tv.

  • I don't make a lot of money either but it always puzzles how people live in houses like these yet have much nicer cars than me. I live in a luxery apartment yet I drive a Kia Rio. I know fincancing helps people buy cars but I think people could live nicer if they pay more money on their homes than cars. I know a guy who has a mustang and pays $1,000 per month on his car and insurance.

  • this lady is doing Gods work by raising awarness!Anybody can get on here and argue right and wrong, but no one knows how this life is UNTIL YOU LIVE IT! Iam from New Orleans ,but have family in the delta IVE SEEN THIS FIRST HAND.How can you expect people to survive when THERE ARE NO JOBS! Yea working in a cotton field?its 2010 and we still have "BLACK PEOPLE" picking cotton. I bet as soon as White Becky or Suzy gets put on display everybody wants toget a plan together

  • The race card has worked throughout our nations history to obtain freedom, civil rights, and aid as a minority. I must inform you that it will not get you a nice home, you have to have a job to do that. These people have vehicles and can speak English, they have no excuses. Why is it everyone you portray as poor and mistreated in your uplifting religious ministry videos black? Please travel outside your color barricaded mindset and travel to different cultures, where you can see true poverty

  • Did anyone notice two houses down there was a brand new modular home? lol Propaganda at its finest. There are shacks all throughout the rural south its part of the culture if you will. They should be thankfull they have a home, there a true people in need who are homeless because of the economy. If he wanted help he get could aid from the government, its 2010 my friend.

Playing religious songs slaves used to sing and looking sad isn't going to make that 2008 Scion in the background vanish.

  • ToyotaCountryBoy,

Do you think that two brand new homes represent all those who live in poverty? We aren't going to go back and forth. You are entitled to your own opinion. I am going to keep doing what I do.

  • No, but Ive done volunteer work in South America and in parts of West Virginia and although the people you showed in the video aren't wealthy or living in "nice" homes, they are not in a state of true poverty. You are playing the poor me race card tactic and it humors me. Seeing people living in the woods in the shell of an old car and stealing corn to survive is poverty, not being a poor person in a shack with a VEHICLE and the ability to commute to a job. This video is a joke.

  • @ToyotaCountryBoy ...agree with you...enough of this bullshit already..half those properties are neglected ..they need a lick of paint and some tidying up...we all had/have problems but we have to get on with things..this just encourages apathy .

  • @ToyotaCountryBoy There is no such thing as aid from the government you dumbass, the maximum someone could get is $250 per month and you need at least 1 child. You are a stupid fucking american, this country deserves to be attacked again over and over because of all the lies this country has.

  • sell your rich cars and fix up your houses!

  • what! was that a new car?

  • Now, I love my black people and I will kill a brick over them, but you cannot tell me that they are living like that because they don't want to. They need to take what they want from the white man because EVERYTHING that the white man have belongs to us, even his ass. There is NO such thing as stealing when you taqke from thite people because It is yours anyway. do you want us to come down there and FUCKAthose red necks up????

  • lol idiot.

  • Obama aint trying to hear that shit. He's a white mans bitch.

  • My Goodness!!! You call that Poverty???

    How about those parked cars???

Well, I'm south american, so I've got another idea about what is poverty.

For sure, it might be a deplorable situation for american standards.

  • america makes me sick!
