Anyhow she is refreshing and i will buy her album :) as I like most of the songs but I do get why allot of people don't like her.

I really like her music tbh. Don't care to much about her past because half the singers out there are manufactured. She isn't the best singer but she has sounded better live than she did on snl so I think it is just nerves plus apparently she was high.

Some of the production on her album is a bit crappy and some of the lyrics of her songs are either cheesy or a bit disturbing but I wouldn't say depressing or boring.

She has a unique vocal which is sometimes better than being brilliant.

I actually agree with you on some aspects. Like the fact that she's in her 20's yet has silicone lips that make her look around 40. But I do think that she does command some attention to her, and her voice was flawless. She moved in way we're not used to seeing - ethereal I'd say, and she really is unique and I personally enjoyed her performance on SNL.

I don't know which category I'd put her in! Probably neither ;D I really agree with most of your opinion on her, she fails at putting emotion into her music, she's annoying and the duck lips are awful. Also I find her music quite boring.

BUT

She is different from most of the other crap that is popular nowadays, so I give her that, and, though I got bored halfway through, I really did enjoy Video Games. Maybe if her songs were more varied in tune, she worked on her expression, and found a style

I really like Lana. Her album was impressive and I've seen other performances of hers where she did well. I honestly just think that she was really nervous at SNL.

Born To Die is a really good song, and I enjoy listening to her voice.

@DanEvVideos I only checked it all out cause you mentioned - like i said below, I think if I'd ONLY HEARD the song, it would've been fine. But the first thing I did, before watching the SNL, was watch the music video thinking that would give me a good idea of what she's about. And I found it painful watching her sitting their pouting and acting up to the camera. Then to see her performance to be the flip reverse. I feel her persona is too fabricated and doesn't seem natural to her.

I like her recorded version and her appearance or background doesn't make me think less of her. I just like her song. However I then watched the SNL performance and throughout the whole thing I was wondering what the hell she was doing! I felt like I had heard her song more times than she had. I'll stick to the recorded version :P

I think if I had JUST heard the song, and not watched her music video for it (where she's pretentiously pouting every 5 seconds) AND THEN if I DIDN'T watch the live performance, I would've just thought it was a nice song with a good singer. Alas... I didn't!

@mrtinoforever Thats fair enough :) Her performance was terrible in my opinion and I wasn't fond of the pouting either. If I had done it your way round then I would feel the same way. I do believe she would be classed as a Hipster. I still like the song but I wouldn't call myself a fan of hers. My usual music taste is very different haha.

@keepsmilinghoney her voice does sound great recorded - but when i watched her on SNL it kind of felt like she's spent so much time watching other singers that she admires and has practiced a way to try and imitate them. A bit like how Jordan/Katie Price sounded when we first heard her sing live... it just sounded fake, and not her natural voice.
