@momin8888 Not me, but my father was. He was Jack Van Kessel. He taught Computer Programming. I was 15 years old when we moved to Kitwe. We lived in the "B" Housing part of the ZIT campus. One of my father's colleagues was Peter Arends. We also knew an Indian family whose father taught at ZIT. His name was Mr. Paranjpe. I am still good friends with his daughter, to this day.
@momin8888 Us too!! That big rock was the "centre" of social life for a bunch of bored Canadian teenagers for the two years my family lived there!! Why did I never meet you??? On the left side of our house lived two young Zambian women with their children. Their husbands were studying in Canada. On our right lived the Bookbinder family from Canada.
I think we moved in after you had left. Initially we stayed in the A Blocks. Only last couple of years in the B. But my father must have met your father since they taught there. I can still trace that roundabout and the whole way to school from my computer on Google Earth.
@momin8888 It's funny that I hear from you just now -- I'm just talking to my friends on Facebook about meeting someone on YouTube who lived in the same set of houses as I did 35 years ago! I guess if you lived in B housing after 1976, then we never would've met. I'm trying to see if I can remember the number of the house we lived in.
@momin8888 The first year we lived there, I was a bit bored. We didn't go to school in Zambia, we older kids. We did correspondence courses from home. But the second year, I joined the Kitwe Little Theatre. Is that still there? We put on a production of The Threepenny Opera. I was in the orchestra, and my friend Peter was the conductor. It was so much fun!!

Please make a video of ZIT (Zambia Institute of Technology) in Kitwe. We used to live there from 1974 to 1980
