If every player were at their best, Ronnie would be no.1. However a true champion wins when not on their A game and this is why hendry is superior, because ronnie isn't as mentally tough.
Honestly I am amazed at how many arguments there are about this on YouTube and elsewhere. In terms of being capable of playing good (or amazing) snooker, you'd have to say Ronnie is number 1. He's made the most 147's ever, and although he hasn't made the most 100's, he has the highest average 100s per season, and Hendry has played 7 more seasons than Ronnie.
But if you wanna talk about greatness and success, its about titles, and Hendry has him beat.
I don't think he tried to do that. I think he wanted to get behind the yellow to make the long pot and just ended up being a bit lucky. But you need the proper skills to get the chance to be lucky in the right moment.

@diasspeed Higgins has only won two ranking tournaments more. Concerning the overall titles (ranking and non ranking) Ronnie has won by far more titles than Higgins,including 4 times Masters and 10 times Premier League. So your argument with the titles doesn't fit in the case with Higgins.

@diasspeed Basically he is known as the best for raw skill, the commentators say it time and time again, he would have a better tournament record if he had more motivation so phychologically there are better players than him. But when Ronnie is "On" he is by far the best, and many of the other players recognise that.

@diasspeed Its not about titles. Ronnie is the most naturally gifted (best) player to ever play the game. Hendry has won the most titles. They are two separate things entirely. I guess you could say hendry is the greatest player of snooker tournaments ever, but ronnie is the best player ever.

I distinctly remember him playing stephen hendry in the world semi final when hendry was on form. He lost the session either 7-1 or 8-0. @diasspeed Higgins has only won two ranking tournaments more. Concerning the overall titles (ranking and non ranking) Ronnie has won by far more titles than Higgins,including 4 times Masters and 10 times Premier League. So your argument with the titles doesn't fit in the case with Higgins.
