@mrkittycat110 it depends. make shure the circuit you tap into is HOT IN RUN and not HOT ALL TIMES. That way, the amp will only turn on when ur engine is on and the alternator can charge ur battery. unless u wanna install a switch, but only if you know what youre doing.
damm dog this really helped out. but only one question. WHY DONT U HAVE A CAPACITOR? i heard if u dont have one, that it will just drain your battery.
@MrJdog1232 its true.... but most SUV have a great alternator that does a good job. and the fact the battery thats in there is 2X bigger then car batterys. thats why most people who you see that own a SUV or some type of truck dont need it thats if there kicking up to 2000+ then they will. but this should not be any problem.
Nice bids jus hope u have a alarm on that bitch otherwise u can end up like my dumbass n get every thing stolen and have to buy every thing all over again
ive heard that using 10 guage wire for the sub wires actually adds about 20-50 db depending on amp settingsn such but still tis the best to use for that n power n grounds try using 0 guage !!!! but gr8 videos .. enjoyed em much
Need to get a rockford amp or something man, it wants it. I remember I had this cheap amp hooked up to my L5 and thing could barely push it. Got a Rockford with 500 rms (still under powering it by about 100) but it hit so good it'd rattle my sunroof! Best part was that I had the bass boost really low on the amp and at 0 on my radio with the sub volume at -5.
when connecting your speaker wires. you said its positive, neg, positive, neg. Why did you put it both on positive? and How do we hook the wires from the sub woofer to the box from the inside?
@iAppleiTech Dual voice coil means exactly what it sounds like. It has two voice coils. And ohms is the resistance provided by the sub. Depending on how you wire it that "Ohm Load" will change. Look up Ohms law to learn about it
Are you still rolling with the same setup or have you changed it up a bit? Also, do you have a video on how to tune an amplifier? That would be of great help to me along with many other people.
Your videos have been of great help and I would love to see a tuning video, if possible.
this is what i was lookin for man, u know i'm sain, thanks man, thanks 4 real. In italy i didn't fnd any good video talking about how to biuld an amp. Thanks a lot bro, peace. White C.
@chrisbrezzy96 Yes, the ground wire connected to the amp is to be connected to a bolt somewhere on the chassis of your car. HOWEVER, make sure you sand down the screw ALONG WITH the metal around where the screw and ground wire will connect.
Thanks homeboy, this is the best how to vid on how to connect an amp and sub. I watched the pros do it and they dont even compare to you dawg. Thnks to you, now my shit is rockin.
thnx bro! this really helped me being a first timer with a sub and amp. i just wanted a little bump in my 2000 vw passat and what i got helps out! couldnt have done it without this tutorial. KUDOS!!!!!!
i getting distortion from my speakers i dont know what to do i installed amp and 6 x 9 speakers any idea what to do. i did all what it shows in the video. but when i turn my car on i hear a buzzing sound from my speakers. and also 1 of the speaker is playing music and the other speakers doesnt play that loud compare to the other 1. please some 1 response tell me atleast what i am doing wrong. i bought the cheap shit amp from ebay. and cheap headunit but it has rca red and white in the back thx
@XxPICKNTICKxX On your amp you may have some thing saying LPF or HPF Which is High and Low Power Freq. try messing around with those until you get your preferred amount of BASS Or Voice or until the distortion goes away ...Hope it helps..PS. put the volume to the point where you usually hear it put it to high and it may damage your speakers while your tuning your LPF and HPF
@23tomi23 thanks I read up a little and it says you usualy hook the positive to the first positive then the negative to the second negative but can change on diff models
Yo, I got a question. On my deck there is no remote wire, all I see is the antenna wire which is blue n white. Any idea of what should I do about it? Thanks
@chrisbumw That should operate and function as the same, I think. It's often referred to as a remote / antenna. Tapping into that wire should work fine for you. If your amp has a light installed to show the remote switching on and off with the ignition, just check it comes on with the ignition, but more importantly, goes off with the ignition. Otherwise you'll end up with a flat battery. Hope this helped.
@Dantedijon ,great that was my problem but i never got it to turn on at all even when i connected that remote wire.its as if the amp isnt working at all. thanks but i guess i need a new amp
@samewoody try this, unhook your negative first on the battery, then take a small peice of copper wire (probably 2inches) and plug one end in the remote socket and the other in the 12 volt socket. then go hook the negative back on the battery and the amp should automatically turn on because its recieving power from the battery if it dont work, then try turning the car on to see if it cuts on, if that dont work then you probably need a new amp, hope your amp works
@samewoody no the remote cable that was connected to the amp you take that out, and you get a little copper wire, and plug it from the remote socket to the 12v socket on the amp, it wont damage anything at all, just unplug the negative so you wont get socked, then when you done pluggin those two things in then plug the negative back on, the amp should automatically cut on, if it still dont work make sure your fuse on your amp didnt go out
@samewoody not a good idea, if you want to keep unplugging the remote from the 12v everytime you not using it, if you leave it like that it will stay on 24/7, But if it do work that means you plugged the remote cable on your deck in the wrong place, see what color the remote wire is on your deck in the manual you can look up on google, whatever brand deck you have, so when you turn your car on and it turns the deck on it would also turn the amp on
@Dantedijon , well, i did what u said and it turned on but when i checked on google the manual to find out the remote wire color it said it was white and blue which is the one i was using all the time. the only way it will turn on is if i keep the remote and 12v connected cause the remote wire from the stereo wont do. i guess i can live with it, u helped alot thanks
@samewoody Damn maybe the remote wire on your stereo is damaged or something, or the wire running from it isnt good idk, well at least your amp work but when you get out the car you gotta remember to unplug the rremote from 12v i would keep the remote socket loose u can pull it out when you done using your amp
@Dantedijon, having it lose isnt a good idea, imma take the fuse out everytime i turn off the car...easiest way i found. the wire is fine. it must be the stereos wire not making contact inside maybe.
Hey, lambo4real. I appreciate you taking the time to make these vids. My son and I are going to install his new system in his car today. Would have had a very difficult time without this. BTW you are hilarious to listen too. Not sure if you intended to be so funny, but I was cracking up through all 4 of your vids. Nice job.
quick question i had a 400 watt system in my car bridged to a 400watt amp with no problem....but for some reason i hear a small engine grumble in my car when its running do u kno what that may be??? I have replaced the all the wires and everything....but its just a small grumble.
@Bigroberto2008 yes that might be why, i think the remote cable has to be the opposite too. in this video it shows the RCA and remote on one side, and the power the other. try it, see what happens
@supersanchez1991 its so that the amp knows when to turn on, when you turn the ignition and the deck turns on, it sends a signal through the remote turn on wire to turn on the amp
@Jctorange alright my boy i got you. hey last night i install my amp and sub in my truck it was a pain on the ass lol it was my first time messing with audio. i am going to make a video hopefully you can see it and tell me what you think

Nice Video. Pay no attention to negativity because you did not have to take your time to do this. You just saved me money so I am grateful, because I had an appointment to have my stereo and amp installed. Another video help me realize I could do that and this video encouraged me to install my amp. Thanks man!
it was a little bit boring at first, you know how it feels when you have just bought the kit and you want first hand installation intruction, but well done homie, like i said, a little bit borring at the begining, a little bit annoying with your talking, but got the great idea at last.
Great video!!! My amp wiring kit obly came with 2 pira of terminals( 1 for ground and 1 for the battery) do i need a terminal for the remote wire or juat screw down the terminal on the amp like the speaker wire? Someone please helpp! Thanks
-This is real helpful dude, way better then most i've seen. but im stuck on one spot, i already did the power cable. I need to put in the RCA cable, but i don't know which wire is the remote wire,
