I like this. If someone admits that they were wrong and you keep telling them they're wrong or bad as a person, they will lose confidence in themselves and their own judgment - including the judgment they came to that they were wrong. It's hypocritical to say someone is fundamentally a bad person for an act they did which is bad if they already know it was bad. If a person is in this situation, they need to be shown how they can do things differently. The shaming of someone is sadism.
@Gouryella91 I'm not sure -- check Amazon. He wrote so many books in the old days. I think one of them is called Sex Without Guilt, but that might be a bit dated by now.
betzale153, what 86kinky86 is referring to is rationalizing. 86's statement has everything to do with protesting a wrong act by a specific group. I personally do not understand how Israeli's can continue to take Palestinian land, much much less, kill for it. It is not in accordance with Jewish law. Ojala that all people, Israelis included, would follow Jewish law.
86, go hang yourself. get a life. the overwhelming majority of Israelis have a problem with killing of any form, and 9 out of ten palestinians rejoice at the murder of jews. you are a miscreant, and after you take out your dictionary and learn the meaning of this word, your can go back to your anti semitic existence. Thou shall not kill, but you would probably enjoy seeing a few dead jews.
Jewish Theology teaches that there is a difference beween the actor and the action. The action may be wrong in the eyes of God and man, but the person - himself - is not evil because he committed a wrong.
Jews have no problem shooting Palestinians in the head because they see Palestinians as sub human, due to their irrational religious views.
Ellis / REBT is about learning you are always human no matter what, in spite of performance, lovability, behaviour towards others, individual and perhaps conflicting philosophies. If the Jewish forces believed primarily in REBT principles, they would not so easily kill Palestinians.

Thanks for posting this. I've been a fan of Dr. Ellis for over twenty years, and I've never heard this clip before. It's really good.

@lgarvey Thanks for adding the phrase, "would not so easily." Precise just like Albert Ellis!
