I managed the Rustler Steak Houses in Pleasantivlle NJ at the Cardiff Circle and also the one on Delsea Drive in Vineland. The Pleasantville location was one of the hghest volume steak houses in the country. We still have crew reunions 4 decades later. Imagine that when the crew were mostly teenagers and part time and you get an idea of the camaraderie we had. 41-007 introduced corn on the cob cooked in the potatoe ovens & routinely had "$1000 hrs" even after the self serve salad bar.
@kkoca1 Hi - Thanks for asking about the Facebook group for the Rustler. The name of the group is "The Rustler Steakhouse Alumni Association". There are a few KOP folks in the group and it would be great if more would join. That place was a ton of fun. I was on of the few gals that was allowed to close the pit! LOL Heidi and Cheryl were the other two! Hope you will join us out there! Cya on Facebook.
I used to eat at the one in Perth Amboy ALL the time. There was a Gino's next door. They also had a Rustler's in Menlo Park and I think one in Woodbridge Shopping Center for a short time. Ahh the memories - the good old days
I remember going to Rustler in 1978 in Burlington, NJ when I was 6. They had the cafeteria type slide for the tray. I discovered that they put beets on my plate, which I did not request. I freaked out and never went back there again!
Just wondering, how did that $2.99 steak taste?

Anyone recognize the music cue here? I've a hunch it's from the APM catalogs.

There was a Rustler Steakhouse at the Elm Plaza in Waterville ME. I'm not sure if it was part of the chain. The building looked like a Bonanza.
