  • without the screech of a les paul belting out between lyrics, this version is just blowin' nuts....NKKAPLZ!

  • People really need to stop saying she lacks the power of the original. Plant lacked the folkiness of the original "babe I'm gonna leave you", he lacked the bluesyness of the original "you shook me". What's the point? He made those songs their own by putting their own stamp on it just like corinne made this hers by giving it the jazz treatment & it's a fine rendition.

  • Anytime an artist does another artist's hit song, it's all out of respect & admiration for what the original writers had accomplished. She sounds so much better doing her original hit songs in my opinion. She has a very smooth voice as well!

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Awesome job....

  • Corinne Bailey Rae is such a beautiful person! Her music (and covers!) make the world a better place IMO :D

  • So 6/8 and bluesy, where jazz and rock become one again. It's kinda like General Unified Theory when you slow up the tempo of some rock songs, swing the lyrics, and bust a groovy beat.

  • Caught this on PBS, one of my fav songs, one of my favorite covers.

  • She has a good voice, but she lacks power.. shes not singing hard enough at parts, unlike plant. still good, very good considering this is 2006!

  • So sexy

  • @pekalr i think in this live she sang more softly, but i think she has powers to sing this song with impact as much as other singers, she sings with great emotions and passions...

  • her voice timbre doesn't fit in this song

  • Everytime I look at the bass player, I see Randy Jackson O.o

  • Interesting how the piano player turned a minor blues tune into a major sounding composition. I like the arrangement but think the vocalist got lost in it.

  • SHE S MY TYPE~!!!!

  • I am disappointent by this cover. The original has such raw emotion that this just sounds bland in comparison. Rae sings it like some sweet, little song instead of the essence of a betrayed, broken-hearted person's anguish. But I'm not going to be a hater and press the 'dislike' button - she gave it a go and her voice is indeed lovely and the jazzy arrangement is interesting. Maybe when she's experienced more she can sing this like it deserves to be sung.

  • snore

  • Very sexy...very sultry! I love it! LZ's version is great too! <3

  • I like both versions: the heavy, bluesy one and the jazzy, soft one. Either way, they're both good.

  • she killed the most beautifull song ever done.

  • She is my favorite singer

  • Some of you guys miss the point of a cover I feel. There is ZERO point in doing a cover if you are just going to merely copy the original. You may as well put on a CD. Come on people; use ya imagination! :P

  • That bass player is groovin.

  • nice but I missed the power fo the guitar

  • i'm falled in love!

  • I like this version, very jazzy nice job. If you ever need a guitar player to play the part exactly like the original Im your man.

  • shes pretty hot

  • She is beuatiful.

  • ESTRAGOU A MÚSICA

  • it was cool< but not as good!!!

  • and the guitar?

  • Hey Corinne when are you and your band coming to Australia we all need to see yas

  • i was like....no this is not gonna work......but as it went on....i kinda liked it......and i am a big led zeppelin fan.....maby i just liked the girl....

  • her voiceeeeeeeeeee is soooooooooooooo pretty

  • Excellent cover…right up until 2:10 ...

  • respect

  • she makes her own. she puts a more of a jazz emphases.. it doesn't have the same power as the original but its not supposed to.

  • @tMattLZ >Agree and Agree....................but the guitarsit doen not seem to think the same way. he ain't jazzy at all. its screws teh whole mood.

  • I love her sooooo much she makes me smile just listening to her makes me feel warm inside. Also if u haven't check out her cover of daydreaming.

  • Holy shit, the guitar lick at 3:05 made my ears shit themselves at how wrong it sounds. whats he playing at?!

  • She has style, class, poise, and she can sing. Who can ask for anything more? Has this lovely lady made/song anymore songs?

  • I believe that she has a new album coming out in February 2010. I am extremely excited :]

  • dont play with my emotions like that....omg i bought her first album my freshman year and i would be getting her second one my senior year....i absolutely love this lady ...she is my favorite singer.....are you serious???Please tell me this isn't a rumor and that my girl is really backkkl!!!!

  • I'M NOT PLAYING. She has an album called The Sea due to come out in February 2010.

I'm just as excited as you are XD. Just look her up on Wikipedia -- it says it there. :]

  • awesome i'm not close to this level

  • amazing...thats all i can say

  • it was..... nice. Truthfully, I am more into the bluesy rock music than anything. I am more about the music than anything else. but... She has a good voice, but put more guitar into that song & more emotions into it, then you will knock down every man listening...

  • lol it took her forever to hit that high note!

had me on the edge of my seat waiting for it haha

wow, i absolutley love this cover

*checks out the rest of her music*

  • OH my GAH!!!

  • No Zeppelin. Go look at a live version of by them.

  • NO!! I LOVE HER!!!

  • i love her!!

  • Very nice!

  • I always thought that Rae had a somewhat unique way of singing. And admittedly, when I first heard Rae sing, I didn't particularly like the way she sang. But then, I heard a couple of songs that resonated with me, and I've been a fan ever since. The song that she does on the Herbie Hancock CD (River)...oh my goodness - that is indeed the song that won me over. Since then, I've been staying on the look out for new Bailey Rae songs.

  • You betta sing that song girl!

  • unimpressed. She has no tambor in her voice. And besides that, it's like she's not even trying. No emotion in such an emotional powerful song.

  • That's interesting. I thought quite the opposite. To me, she sounds like someone who is singing alone to herself about a man who she really lost. When you feel that way, you don't think about singing perfectly. The only thing that's on your mind is just how heart broken you feel. Forget about impressing an "audience" - just sing from your heart.

  • I don't know, it just seems really lackluster. I'd also disagree on your performance related to your experience. I've usually noticed other performers (and myself) use a lot more emotion when they're singing about something close and really thinking about the lyrics. Not withdrawn. But she doesn't strike me that way anyway. She's semi-smiling the whole time, I just feel like she's gliding right through it. And if you're performing in concert for an audience, you OUGHT to sing as well as you can.

  • Thanks for sharing your perspective. I can appreciate it.

    -OutsideBoxMusic

  • amo esta mujer

  • ugh!

  • it is not the same without JIMMY.If your're

going to do this song, you need to come with IT!

  • I agree, you guys need to appreciate the greatness of that song when preformed right. This is not an example of tht.

  • She is a very bland singer and with no guitar it sounds just as bland as her voice

  • why the thumbs down this guy is actually right. bland is the word.

  • Could you imagine her with jimmy in the background going nuts?

  • it would be alot better for sure !

  • if the gut on the bass could hit a note the song might sound better

  • gut?

  • IT IS just NOT the same without the guitar . Though I love her sultry voice...she puts out the heat of this song and smothered the soul out of it.

  • I disagree. Although I think the drums are missing and it could be lots better with them.

  • smothered the soul? settle down. It is what it is. It is not the Led Zeplin version, simple as that.

  • she turns me on

  • she is such an amazing artist! thnx for uploading this

  • this is probably the best version besides the 1973 Madision Square Garden Led Zeppelin Version. This is amazing, tying blues, soul and r+b. She's great!

  • She's dope man!

  • i luv her cover of this song

  • This is a pretty nice version, i think.

  • fuck shit

  • Very nice!!

  • most people present their opinons like it's a fact or something. "this is out of her range, she should stick to her thing" blah blah. I like it and that's a fact!

  • terrible

  • feelin ya rolliegyrl2 chekc out the fresh tess vid

  • CBR is ok in what she does best but this sure as hell ain't it.

  • you are right

  • Check out Bilal doing this song. He gets it!

  • good interpretation of the song

  • ummm I love CBR with all my heart but she needs to stay in her range and leave this song up to Led Zeppelin...I probably would have liked this if i didn't know the orginial though

  • you do know the song isn't from led zeppelin, they covered it.

  • Zep didn't write a lot of their song but they did write this one.

  • OWNED!

  • ugh!she cant sing this song !

  • What a boring vapid version of this incredible song--no emotional range at all. Sounds like she's reading the words--including "woo woo"--off the page for the first time . I love how she smiles all through a song that is about the pain of a bad relationship and makes those stupid meaningless hand gestures. Comes off like a badly programmed robot.

  • this is brillinat. I love Corinne but...there's another song that sounds similar to this arrangement. It's really annoying me now, that fact that I don't remember. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

  • pretty good

    zep version is better

Led Zeppelin is the best anyway

at least she didnt copy the same arrangement.

but then again she's making more money than i am

  • Working from seven to eleven...So good I love you Thanks for cover!!!

    GuatemALa InMoRtAl

  • maximus cover corinne love

  • She'd get wifed!!!!

  • Very interesting cover of a spectacular song.

  • i love her cover songs.

  • ima marry her this she made this song better the og is ok but she kills it sorry led zep fans n shes super sexy

  • Excellent. However, this kind of sultry arrangement belongs in a smoky nightclub, not in a venue like this.

Oh wait, I forgot - the Nanny state no longer allows smoking in clubs. Welcome to the sterile Brave New World.

  • I want to add to my previous comment. I just fell in love with Corine Bailey Rae.

  • WoW! I love the Zep version but this is totally unexepted perfection.

  • my teacher plays this version all the time in class, so bad ass...

  • as much as i love the Zep version, i really do like this jazzy rendition of it. shes got a really smooth voice.

  • Yeah, pretty good! I like the vibe and so what it's nothing like the zepp version. It was enjoyable to listen to and for an epic song that's a good thing to be able to get all the way thru it.

    Nice work

  • Diehard Zep fan here...this is a respectable cover and I give Corinne Bailey Rae props for paying homage one of the greatest bands in rock history. It does a soul good to hear and see another generation of musicians keepin' the blues alive.

  • i'm not really a fan of this version or style. definitely should have left it to zeppelin ONLY! i mean come on, plant put in some amazing emotion on the live shows. she's just kinda sittin there. this actually fuckin sucks. now that i'm listening to it more while i'm typing. i try not to be ignorant, but seriously leave it to page and plant. please. IMO

here comes the hater replies below...

  • lol wtf ur gay stop hatin!!1

I totally agree. I feel that this is just a lame piece of something close to lounge music. It's just horrific, with none of the real feeling that Plant put in it, and none of the dark blues that Page infused into the original. Very, very bad.

  • Hmmm, because Mattm is clearly interested in dating men. USE appropriate adjectives for insults!! You're, like a total smurf. I mean ur so frickin hetero. I mean a tuna. Dude, ur a tuna. (Makes sense as an insult, doesn't it)

  • I...hope you detected the sarcasm in my reply. If not, then we're doomed as a society.

  • Nice. Consider my reply an open letter to those that use gay as an insult, fer realz.

  • Definitely. Homophobia is not cool, kids. Especially when used to describe something that's got nothing to do with sexuality. Don't be idiots. :)

  • i'm a fan of both zep and corrine but i think corrinne pretty well on this..i think the boys would be proud of this too....no offence!! just my opinion! lol...

  • I wonder why they skipped the end part of the song, it's the best part.

  • Allow me to explain my last comment. It was in response to a user who slandered me with racial slanders and made ignorant remarks about Corinne, whom I am a huge fan of. My comments in no way are directed at Corinne or any fans of hers that have posted on this thread. Fortunately the ugly comments made by the aforementioned user have been removed and hopefully his account has been suspended. Again, I think Corinne is an amazing singer and am a huge fan of her work. Big up CBR! Down with racists

  • Actually no I'm not British unlike the members of your favorite group Led Zeppelin who def. are British. But I bet you didn't even know that huh? And now that you've been exposed as the inbred, backwoods trailer park living, cousin fucking redneck racist that you are, I have nothing further to say to you. It's enough for me to know that people will read your comments and laugh at your inability to string together a coherent sentence. More likely they'll cringe in disgust at your obvious bigotry.

  • lol yeah white people invented the blues right? nice comeback by the way, what are you 10 yrs old? Stop trolling up in here dude, everybody thinks you're an ignorant wanker.

  • Led Zeppelin itself is a rip off of black blues and jazz music so WTF you talking about dude?

  • She is amazing! and just by covering this song she admits to liking led zeppelin too which makes her even more amazing...

  • she sings nice but Led Zeppelins better...way better..Ahuevo

  • She is just wonderful. I'm amazed...

  • Hmm, i was expecting a lil more from the vocals...in terms of range that is.

Kept waiting for it to build up at the key points of the song...that's not her style i guess.

Still gotta love the song though :)

  • woah man, i'm a huge zeppelin fan, and anyone has the right to cover led zeppelin, of course none are going to be as good as the original, (especially with zeppelin), but ya anyone can cover them if they want

  • congratulations asshole, you're an asshole!

damn, she isn't even trying to be better then Zeppelin. its a completely different vibe man, its not all about competition.

  • I agree with you. Just ignore him he's an idiot.

  • Love love love it it is beautiful

  • love this song.

  • amazing song! amazong cover!!
