hi, i am sorry to hear it was a bad time , i hope you told the bait house why u were leaving as they would address the issues . paylakes want fishermen time enjoyed and catching fish . check out a few other of the lakes you can get links on gofishbaitshop,com and on the river. Monroe is a tight lake to fish,not excusing the guys but alot have been unable to fish due to the weather its been a frustrating rainy season for alot . they were letting it out i say in the wrong way.
We recently moved south of Dayton and was told that Lake Monroe was a nice family oriented lake so we decided to give it a try. The people in the bait house were very. Unfortunately, once we got onto the lake we met the locals. Cussing, yelling, drinking, and to top it all off casting their poles over my kids lines trying to push us out of their self proclaimed spot! I Hope those guys are proud you ran off two kids and a father just trying to have some family fun. never again!
thanks and i do plan to do more fishing soon and i will let you know how it is going good or bad i hope its all good and thank you for all your help and hard work you are doing for us fishermen out here im looking to hit the river by your bait shop if i get one i will bring it in to show it off and i will be in to get stocked up for the year !!!
@TheCatFishGod GO FISH has 15% off rods and reels right now, have clips in the GMR. fishermen tell me from them , they have found so good holes . river should be great to fish by the weekend, up now some, but got guys who love it slightly flooded. GO FISH
i was kick out of my spot i did not know about the spots on tournaments days i went on saturday at 3 a.m. or so and the night shift did not say at 7:45 a.m. i had to pull in my line and some one can come in and make me move my car they payed for my spot so i went to the bait shop and i was told if i did not move i would be kick out the lake so i tell you all out there the hell with this lake and like the other person i will not be back and i will tell my friends not to go there ever again !!!!!
@TheCatFishGod I am sorry you had a problem, The owner said she posts a sign stating a tournament would be starting on sunday morning but will add signs on the counter & instruct staff to point out they would have to move & wait until all spots were assigned, then rejoin the lake for reg. fishing. I know this is a practice at all pay lakes. . NOTE: If you fish a Paylake on a weekend ask about any Doings they may be planning, to prevent this from happening guys! FISH On and GO FISH!
@kitty cat purrs thanks i would not be so upset if some one would have told me before the start of the tournament you may need to move i have been fishing for a long time and i have never seen a pay lake do me like they did me they talked to me like they had my money so go get lost and i know it not you i just want other ppl to know what may happen if they go there and not be upset like i was so thank you for your time !
@TheCatFishGod the owner regreted what happen , but due to u speaking up, and the other complaint she is aware of an issue and working to keep it from happening again. as the fish lady i put up lakes to show one whats out there to try out. i hope you try some of the other lakes. as the fish lady , i can also take complements or problems to the owners too. to try to help the fishermen. just want all to be able to enjoy their fishing trips! i will not go back to this place i went there last saturday and they did not tell us after spending over $60.00 in fees and bait and at 8 a.m. they told us we need to pull in are Ines and at 8:15 am someone and told us we had to move that there payed for are spot so after we moved two more time do to ppl buying are spots we moved to the other side of the lake with no one around us some one comes in late and walks up to us and tells us to move so i got up set and packed up my stuff and left !!!!!
sorry t hear this happen as it was not the lake I dont think but the fishermen who took u, once u claim a spot its urs till u move of ur own free will or leave.
I will tell the owner of this comment for you. have u ever fished wild bills thery are hitting out there and they will not let anyone move u off ur spot., give them a try .
At Lake Monroe no one can "buy" your spot. If you get there first then the spot is yours. Each fisherman has 10 ft of bank space and it's first come first serve. The only exception is on the 2nd and 4th Sundays when we have tournaments. There is a sign posted in the bait house for at least 12 hours prior so that anyone who buys a ticket will be aware that the lake will be cleared from 7:45am - 8:15am while we start the tournament. Not sure where you were but it wasnt here.
