  • mouch beautiful song,greats Generation x!

  • It's plain to see why Billy morphed Generation X into this band. Billy lost the short red hair and the raw-noise punk edge, and brought on the mouthsneer and the melodic little additions to the tunes. Still goes off-key at moments, but I'm happy to blame it on the stage monitors (or lack thereof). Star power on vocals, great energy overall, and really fine guitar.

  • I bought the "kiss me deadly" album when i was 13, i had the first two albums as well, i loved Generation x/Gen x's music and it's really funny seeing them on video now because all i had back then was the music and the record sleeves and pics, they really look amazing just how i would have imagined at the time, a brilliant band, brilliant imagery, this reminds me how exciting and colourful the music scene was back then music scene, happy memories.

  • Generation X needs to reunite

  • @jimmygrunts fucking sad but it will never be. or maybe every idol fans must write him letters ?) he will fuck it

  • Pretty damn good for being live!

  • I was on my skateboard back then....

    and still am

  • Have to agree with all the others here that "Kiss Me Deadly" is a VASTLY under-rated album (just look at AMG's one sentence review if you don't believe me). This song, Triumph, Heaven's Inside, and Stars Look Down are AMAZING songs. The group was a veritable punk super-group--Idol and James, McGeoch, Steve Jones, Tory Crimes, Steve New. Gen X went out with a bang with this terrific album, hands down their best.

  • @allendl181 totaly agree.. one of best bands ever!!!!

  • I'm moved to tears by this picture and music. I was 17 when I listend this song first time. This song is one of LP (Valley of the doll) , isn't it? That record was impoted one I bought first. So there was not lyrics and any coment. So I couldn't understand that meaning. It's hard for me to understand it only listening.

I'm happy if somebody put here the words.

  • Steve Jones of the Mighty Sex Pistols on guitar.....Terry chimes(clash before and after Topper) on drums....a VERiTABLE SUPER GROUP OF THE PUNK ERA....why dod all the bands look so "gay" these days? No more diy?

  • One of the best tunes on the album.

  • I love this tune and the album "Kiss Me Deadly". Well, I love all the three Generation X albums, but I think the third one has been underrated.

  • untouchable!! yeay!

  • Great!!!

  • All my LPs are in a chest back home. 1000 miles away. Thank you, YouTube.

  • wow william you gained some weight!

  • Oddly enough, the vocals here are much clearer than they are in the mp3 that is floating around on the internet (you know which one I mean - it's the only copy you can find). Well, probably because Billy doesn't have all those effects on his voice.

By the way, does anyone have a copy of the correct lyrics? I've been looking for them everywhere. Does he say, "Share a drag and a joke" or a "fag and a joke?"

  • Sharing a fag and a joke with only fools to save us...."

  • This is awesome!!! I've never seen any of these Gen-X live clips!!

  • This song had all the qualities of a hit single. 'Kiss Me Deadly' is among the greatest albums never heard.

  • The song is good.

  • yeah I was thinbking the same thing very tubeway army/gary alone..Love it though!

  • cuttee!!

  • spilt our sides at what they told us?

  • umm a littler earlier in the song I mean... he goes: you an me had the power to escape in the days of cold fire, drugs and desire. gas and ice a synchapated sound let us..." what is the lyric following. It sound something like "talk about the love where the skins hung out" but i dont know.

  • I've never read the actual lyrics but I think it goes

"lead us down to Babylon where the skins hung out."

thats how Ive always sung along to it anyway but

  • WOW that's totally it! Thanks! Billy's lyrics aren't all that clear when he sings them and lyric websites are always wrong. Cheers!

  • anyone please tell me what the second part of the first virse is? ".........synchapated sound let us.........."

    HELP APPRECEATED!

  • Yhis is cool!

  • billy is so fuckin cool ;D

  • Billy Idol in a leather jock strap, I've been waiting for this moment for my whole life!

  • his voice was his owns though.. tough guy for sure.. he was already billy idol in this

  • LUV IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sid's sneer + Gary Numan in blonde "Tubeway Army" era guise == Billy Idol

  • werz ma billlyyyyy!!!! xx brill xxx

  • I wrote a novel that was inspired by Billy. This song was a major inspiration and this particular look at that moment in time, gave me my main character. Wow...thanks again for sharing

  • Holy crap...i'm in love all over again. I love this song...thanks for posting

  • when is somebody gonna post the complete song of The Untouchables? You don't necessarily need the original video, just post the original song with the album cover or something like that.

  • Since the credits were rolling over it, this IS technically the "whole video" in terms of what the BBC actually broadcast at the time. I've also seen "Dancin' With Myself" from the same show. Obviously the complete footage exists in a BBC or Chrysalis vault somewhere. Let's hope it sees the light of day soon.

  • hey FORDCOUNTRY

thanks for clearing up the air with the ending of the song, looking at the dancing with myself clip it sort of ends that way too without the credits (i think its from the same show... just in colour)

ive tryed uploading it before but it turned into a bunch of pixles

    keep rockin

    Emma

  • sorry if i had the hole video i would post it but this is all i have... if i ever come across it i will post it.

but for now this is all i have

    keep rockin

    Emma

  • best gen x song

  • yeah

    we need the entire video

  • I second that! We need the whole video or at least a home-made version that includes the whole song.

  • Great!!!
