  • Dx I just bougth this game cause of ur videos^^ looks awesome

  • @Jokken111 Thanks for taking the time to let us know that. We really hoped we would be able to help people decide of the game was right for them, from watching the series. Have fun with the game!

  • thank you so much for making these videos, you made the choice to buy this game a very easy one, it's ordered and on the way...

  • @Cocktailz001 Thanks for the very nice feedback :) Hope you have lots of fun chasing down cultists (or sending them after poor investigators)

  • Amazing video series. Keep it up!

  • @kentarokaos Thank you, we will as long as we can!

  • And again we have here different points of view when it comes to the Keeper's card "Darkness". Is it everytime when investigators must do the will check after entering the room with a token of darkness located by the Keeper in it?OR just at the moment of adding the token to the room where ARE(IS)(an) investigator(s)?

our Polish cards are probably a little less understandably written than yours..

    sorry for bothering once again:(

  • @river13ish No problem. The Darkness token does not force a will check, it just means that in order to explore a room in darkness you must use a Move and an Action to explore. Also, any skill checks you are asked to do while in darkness require you -2 from the attribute test. Hope that helps.

  • @WatchItPlayed well not exactly, unfortunately ;( could you please look at the Keeper's card called "the Darkness"? it should be written in it that 'every player seized by the darkness must do the will check' or sth like that. maybe you've got different effect written in this card? anyway! what is written in your card and how does it work during the game :):) ? I'm asking cause we've got doubts how it should work. :)

  • @river13ish AH sorry, I see what you mean, I was going off memory. The card states ACTION: Place a darkness token in any room. Each investigator affected by drkness must text Willpower".

This Willpower test ONLY happens when the Darkness card is played, and it say you must test ALL investigators currently afftected by darkness. So that could even be investigators in another room that is already in darkness.

That's my understanding of it. Hope that helps!

  • @WatchItPlayed yeah, that clears everything :):) thanks a lot! however thit is a completely different understanding that i expected to be ;)

  • Really cool.

  • @Vondur Glad you enjoyed it :)

  • Its ironic that in video 21 you make note of not using many Mythos and Trauma cards, favoring monster attacks instead. I think this is why you, playing as the Keeper, lost. I think a Keeper who uses all weapons of malevolence at his' or her's disposal will be more successful in keeping those pesky Investigators subjugated! ;)

  • @turquoiseknight Absolutely true. You have to keep at them non-stop. I missed a few good opportunities there!

  • this series is great, thanks for posting them all up. lol it looks like your not too bothered with your daughter going upstairs to call her special someone. cool dad points go to you sir.

  • @boostcesar She put a lot of time in, in the basement with Dad, I can't complain! :)

  • Thanks for video it helped me as a keeper to understand game rules better. We did 3 sets in this week end. Keeper wined 2 of it. Third time all lose. When we play this scenario Shoggor scare all the investigator and run out. For the other side your video helped me to choose game for buying. Thank to you and Andria she`s charming one))

  • @BazKha Yes she is :) I'm glad our series helped you understand the rules better, there is a lot to remember!

  • Just ordered this on the strength of these videos. I would have been turned away from the complexity but all three of you ( and the frightened exchange student!!!! ) made me feel happier. Thanks guys and happy new year!!!! Keep videoing and making our board game lives easy......

  • @TheGnomeDenial I love hearing that. It's a shame that some great games have a difficult barier to entry because of their rules. If we helped lower that barrier for you, then we're really pleased!

  • i got this game today for christmas, and i was incredibly distresded about returing it or playing it, but this realy helped me to decide to keep it and im going to go and play it about 20 mins after posting this and eating sloppy joes!

  • @dragom130 Don't splash any of that sloppy joe on Harvey. He wouldn't like that!

  • I found those videos yesterday and I'm after a D&D and MoM marathon. It's great. Great job! It's really fun, entertaining and gives quite a lot knowledge about the games. As I understand you are doing it with kind of daily effort... must be tough job.

  • @TheFlymar It is a big job, but the viewers and their support really make it worth it. And the games are fun to play :)

  • This has been great fun to watch! I originally watched it to check some rules, but I got stuck and watched the whole series. I think that says something about the game but even more about how nice and entertaining you guys are. Thanks for taking the time to do this!

  • @MartinWikner A pleasure. Thakns for sharing your enjoyment of it with us. Glad you stuck around. Join us on our new channel if you want more at "watchitplayed"

  • Great videos!!! I enjoy it a lot!! and definitive this is a game I want to buy, maybe for Xmas!!

  • @MarioelKamui Sounds like a great gift to me!

  • Played my first game of MoM last night. Went really well despite the pesky investigators winning :) This video series really helped, Thank you loads.

  • @MattXang They truly are a nuisance aren't they! Well, there's always next time!! Glad the series helped, thanks for taking the time to let us know :)

  • Many thanks for the whole series, i enjoyed it very much! I already bought the game, now I just need to convince some friends to give it a try. They aren't very experienced in this type of game, but thanks to your videos, i can tell them to take a look at the first episodes to get a good idea about what it is all about. I'll definitely switch to your new channel, to check out more of these videos!

  • @Eye426 Really hope it helps! It can be an intimidating game at first glance, but with some help, they'll be off investigating in no time!

  • Dont worry, your eldritch wouldn't be able to use the ladder anyway. Only humanoids can.

  • 04:01 --> priceless look. :)

  • Thanks so much for this series! I've already bought the game before I found the series, but this would definatly have convinced me if I had any doubts.. :) I thought this layout was way better than any other sort of review, and it's a lot easier to make a decision about a game when you actually see the mechanics in detail like this.. :) I hope you continue to do a lot more and I will of course subscribe to the WIP channel! Oh, and I hope you do a series of Fortune and Glory!

  • @Subletter I have been asked about that game a few times... it's certainly one I'll consider!

  • Defiantly gonna buy this game and all the expansions (4 now). But, can't get it till Christmas so it'll be a while till i get it but i may review the game and expansions as a whole.

  • @Miniwargaming101 Glad you enjoyed this series. Hope you get some MoM gifts at Christmas :)

  • To the FFG people, yes based on this video I will be BUYING this game and all the expansions. If possible make a pre-painted set of monsters. I see the adventures already can be bought that way. 4 bucks a guy seems fine, try and keep the human-sized monsters at the same cost, and the large mobs perhaps 5-8 dollars each depending on the size.

  • Rodney there isn't many videos on Runewars (other than some German videos, great if you speak German), and also a good play of Age of Conan (there is a video for that but not a good play video). Your good at making these play videos and they are enjoyable too. Its like we get to see set up, play, and the mistakes you make allow us to learn with you which is not a bad thing

  • @Foreshadow44 Thanks for the kind words. I'll check into Runewars.

  • Very nice series! I enjoyed it a lot and will watch your future gameplays videos. Also, you seem to be a very cool and nice family :)

  • Aww and I was rooting for you keeper xD. I wanted to see how strong that bug was. Also, its too bad no investigator got insane, we never got to know how it would affect the game. Either way it was an entertaining series, You did your best not to sound monotonous, and explained the concepts very well. It served me well and i'm now ready to play it with my friends as soon as we get it. Thanks ^.^

  • @Valem0r Yes, there are still quite a few surprises left for players who watch our series. Have fun driving your friends INSANE!!

  • I watched all the 23 videos. Great work, I'll buy Mansions of Madness ASAP and start playing with my family. Greetings from Costa Rica and thank you.

  • @teseocr Thanks for sticking around for the whole series! I hope you join us over on the new channel for the next 2 video series! Hello in Costa Rica, from your friends in Canada!

  • Wooot great job guys!

  • The best lets play board game i have ever watched !

I'm waiting for another (maby arkham horror? :D )

going to "Watch It Played" and looking for another ones, great party of your family you realy put smile on my face.. Simply epic and all thanks to your sense of humor people,

in my country you can tell "dobra robota" what means: good job. Thanx for a grat time !!

  • @444POles In my country it is "I am very humbled by your kindness". I am so glad you enjoyed it. I will pass this on to my daughter as well!

I suspect we will do Arkham Horror someday!

  • Great videos, well done!!!

  • yeah!!!! i am @Pacman28Mexico´s brother, and we enjoyed watching your videos and playing MoM. thanx and we´ll keep watching your viodeos... and of course, i would love to play with you online too. Greetings

  • Thanx for answering so quick! I went over the Mannual and you´re right, it says that the Keeper will continue collecting the threats that he started the game, but notthing says about gaining one if one more adds to the game (if an investigator is killed). I really enjoy watching the series and would love to participate in future games (specially if it is MoM), but i´ll follow for sure the next series you post!! Greetings from Mexico City

  • @Pacman28Mexico My next series is already on the go over at my other channel: watchitplayed - be sure to go over there!

  • Hey Rodney, nice job man, that was awesome, me and my family play this game in Mexico city thanks to your help; although, you said that nobody helped the keeper (guess i got here prety late), but you passed some really important things. You started the game collecting 3 keeper tokens for the 4 investigators (you explained the handicap), but you forgot that you killed one investigator and miss Barnes came in play, so you had to collect 4 tokens instead of 3: this changed the outcome of the game.

  • @Pacman28Mexico Glad you enjoyed the series :)

My understanding of drawing threat is that it is fixed as the number of "original" players. So if 4 people start the game with an investigator each, then the Keeper draws 4 threat for the whole game. If an investigator is killed and a new one brought out, the threat level doesn't change. Hope this helps in your future games!

  • Thanks for an entertaining few days following your game. I've played Mansions of Madness once and it was fun to see how a different group tackled the same scenario.

In our game we had four turns to kill the Cthonian and surprised ourselves (and the keeper) by succeeding with a last-minute desperate axe-attack - though the killing blow would not have worked if Harvey (me) hadn't thrown aside his cultic disguise and valiantly inflicted one damage with his bare hands in the penultimate action.

  • Arkham Horror or elder sign when it comes out would be cool to see played

  • Hi,

Great job, I look forward to your next endeavour. Are you only going to do the Cthulu style games or will you expand to fantasy and sci fi etc...

Also I was wondering don't the characters have special abilities they could use once per game? Diod they not ever pertain to any of the moments they encountered? Was just a question that hit me the other night.

  • Congrats on completing the first series.

Like I said on a previous video, this series convinced me to buy the game, and I've had a blast the few times I've played it already.

Looking forward to the next one!

And, if you can get your hands on Elder Sign, I'd love to see a series dedicated to that game.

  • Excellent video series. I can't wait to see what game you guys play next. I wish you all the success in your future projects.

  • I loved watching you guys play.

  • so wait, the cultists killed the keeper or the investigators?

  • @MutantMike90 The Investigators won because they found the last clue and prevented the Cultists from summoning a Cthonian!

  • @dungeon666666 I know I know, but storyline wise, when Rodney says that they come in, circle you and tear you apart, who are they killing?

  • Enjoyed the series, looking forward to the next series. So, how do we sign up to be a player :)

  • The funny thing is i was going to post that this game can not go more than 20 turns and here you were an 23. Congratz to everyone involved and remember when you do Arkham Horror, i know the rules very well and own all the expansions. Wish you were going to Arkham Nights :( Thx for vids...CYA!!!

  • Well done to all involved. It's been a very well done series. So out of curiosity how do you pick the players for next time? I'd certainly be interested depending on the game.

  • Bought this game the day before discovering the videos. I watched through twice when you were up to about video 9 so that I could make sure I had a better understanding of the game. It was a great help. We made some of the same play mistakes, we made different ones. Some of them were game bending. But my wife and I had a blast with this game. I've yet to get a really good game with my group of friends, but I'm already considering developing a custom three act story for this game. Thank u.

  • Congratulations to the investigators! Thanks for a great series, Rodney. This will definitely help me play the game. (gonna be keeper on this scenario tomorrow) I can't wait for the new series and find out which game will be played and learned next. By the way, why was the shoggoth moving towards the ladder in that last turn? I don't believe eldrich creatures can climb ladders, but I might be mistaking. Best wishes for your new series! Cheers, Rodger.

  • I'm so disapointed, Rodney... How could you let them live? I really hope you don't go easy on them again.

So, thank you a lot for those videos Rodney. I ordered my MoM like 1 month ago and a few days before it arrive at my home I found your channel by accident (searching for MoM you youtube). It really helped me to learn the game, to understend how it would feel. When I'm buying a computer game, I look for 'gameplay' videos on youtube, and that's what your channel is about, but for boardgames!

  • Another video so soon! Subscribed the new channel and checked to mail me each video uploaded!

  • Subscribed! Whoo-hoo!
