To this day I've yet to see anything better than the stuff the sheepherders were involved in during there time in Texas and the like in the 80's, mind you Bruiser Brody, Abdullah, and Joe Le Duc amongst others all chipped in. The Commonwealth Army that rum riot in Sothwest was superb. Great memories.
I don't begrudge the change in the team when they hit the WWF. By that time they were older and I think deserving of making some serious money after all their years of hard work. On the other hand, younger fans need to dip into their history and see how they were a real prototypical "hardcore" act. Just look at their foreheads and hear their stories about dodging all the insane Puerto Rican fans who would have legitimately murdered them. We won't see days like that again.
@DavidFullam The Sheepherders did a shoot interview several years ago. They said that they did prefer the hardcore act but that their careers would have been shorter if they didn't do the Bushwackers gimmick. They didn't really dish any dirt (actually refreshing for once) and came across as having truly enjoyed what they did.
@thenoblegeek That goes to show you how good they were. They successfully handled the switch from hardcore to sports entertainment. Other men could be given similar watered down characters, and you could see how they hated it deep down. But Luke and Butch never stopped doing what needed to be done. They certainly have my respect for all they did.
WOW they're brutal this goes to show how much Vince wants cartoony wrestlers and not the real deal. Sheepherders > Bushwackers

@jordom5 They were in some really wild brawls in Southwest and the WWC, two territories that were sort of proto hardcore. Lots of blood was shed.

@APaulA222 It would of been interesting if they did.

A far cry from there days in the WWF as the Bushwackers. I think people forget how wild and bloody these guys could be in there hayday.
