To bad it's not the way it is. The two biggest religion that exists in America and not European is the U.S governmental Democratic and Republican war monger religious association as the attack without being attacked and creating inside 911 jobs as if they were attacked the greatest terrorist machine on earth all in the name of "WE WILL HELP YOU"
"Without Religion this World would be Something not fit to be mentioned in polite Company, I mean Hell." ---John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, April 19, 1817
Is this really a problem? If so I would like the reference! I certainly know of schools banning the books of other religions ... This is something I've witnessed first hand.
@psistarpsi80 Its a question of right to expression. In most schools youl find its fine to shout Zieg Heill in the halls but forbidden to shout Jesus is Lord ! Something is terribly wrong here. While political expression is always permisible in any circumstance in American society it seems relegious expresion is limited. My own daughter has been told not to bring relegious litriture to school , even in a private capacity to be read by herself during her lunch. So much for relegious freedom.
Straw man argument. Saying Jesus, God, or whatever is not banned from public schools in the U.S. Prayer is not banned from public schools, only MANDATORY prayer. Big difference. Any student or teacher who wants to pray in a public school can do so, they just can't force it on others, which includes opening a classroom wtih a prayer in the morning or an official prayer at a school function. It is the job of the public school system to educate, not to indoctrinate.
And yet the religious fail to see this basic tenet of their country. Possibly the bedrock the United States, that made the rest of the enlightened people of the world look to Her for guidance. But now...
god, America & the founders rock. The separation of who's church form the state, exactly? The first amendment to our Constitution states clearly that government shall make no law against or in support of religion. The separation of church and state for the preservation of both. This is in line with our natural born rights to liberty.
As a christian myself, I have no problem with God being kept out of schools. My problems lies with any 'resemblance' of God being totaly eradicated from the school.
It would be wrong to say, we should learn what God has to teach within the class room but it should also be wrong to deny the individual the right to wear a cross as an expression of faith in the school corridor. The difference is that one is being endorsed by the state, the other is permitting the freedom of expression of faith.
@mymusicfolder1 I am an atheist myself, but wanted to say that i could not agree with you more. Each individual has the inherent right to believe as they see fit. i believe as i do simply because it is what make s the most sense to me based of the evidence i have been exposed to. This does not mean that I am right, but at least i have the right to discover the truth without fear of persecution. As do you! and every person of every faith. Jefferson, and all of the founding fathers we're great men
It is I and you who are to blame! Fire politicians who don't submit to the will of the people, fire them before they have a chance to explain, fire them and tell them good riddens, do it so quickly and overwhelmingly that it sends a message to other politicians that they had best listen when Americans start talking.... dont do it at the end of a term.... do it the moment your community is underserved, call for their removal, call for and emergency election.
45 minutes in front of the computer with a cold coke can change your life. STOP LISTENING to nightly news, they are selling air time to advertisers, not facts about relevant events. Take the time to ask who's fault it is that our country is in a decline..... dont dare blame the politicians! You can point the finger at me, you can point it at yourself, your brother, your sister, your mother, even your neighboor! WE THE PEOPLE are responsible for holding our ELECTED officials responsible.
Only those who know the past can even hope to glimpse a fraction of the future... I woke up about 5 years ago when I started to learn about history, last century American History is what opened my eyes to be exact. From 1913's Income Tax, to the Tuskegee Project, Operation North Woods, Operation Paper Clip, and numerous quotes from our presidents revealing there is a conspiracy. One must stand near the top of a mountain to see what lies below, and most of our citizens are below sea level.
Absolutely, 100% in agreement, Rob! That's why I steal away to W'burg as often as possible to "restore my soul." I can listen to Thomas Jefferson and Patrick Henry and George Mason, et. al. over and over again. And I carry a copy of the Constitution with me at all times. It saddens me that we have fallen as low as we have.
It is high time that "We the people" turned off televisions and XBOX 360 systems, and in turn pick up our constitution and bill of rights and commit them to memory!
We have replaced eloquent and educated speech with "dude" and "aewsome", and our young people's minds are more focused on texting and american idol than finances and education... let alone politic's and their future. I hope our nation wakes up before it is to late to change it without the sacrifice our founding fathers endured.
Mr.Jefferson, meet Mr.Oswald.

Do you religious zealots not understand that the very reason you have religious freedom is because we have a secular government?
