The movie was ok but the race at the finish line was to crazy for me, lazer cuts engine in half and still runs, the halves of the car forgot about gravity,the right half of the car won with no steering or brakes.I know its all fake but damn.

see i think it has to be a requirment that one of herbie's old owners comes back or is mentioned in new herbie movies. that's why this one works so well. jim bridges the connection between new and old.

All in all great movie. Better than Herbie Goes Bananas. I'm sad it's on DVD O.o When is Disney gonna make a Blu-Ray Platinum Release of the entire Herbie movies? Or at least put this one on DVD.

One note though, Tennessee was the one who gave Herbie his name, so why is it on the plate? Well sense the Doc and Jim apparently already knew each other in this movie, I assumed the Doc made and put the plate there when he 1st meat Jim. They probably meat right after the 1st Love Bug Movie.

Man when Jim Douglas entered Herbie and started him, nostalgia hit me real hard. *Awesome Moment* I like ow this movie is remake of the original love bug and stays true to it, but at the same time be an original move in continuity with the Herbie Franchise. I like how Jim mentioned his ex wife Carole.

@Herbiemario I have a Tv Reel To reel Videotape 3 quarter inch version if it from a Tv Station i was working at, its very clear and resolution is high on the Broadcast tape, at work they were going to erase it..i just grabbed it and paid work for it, i was selling it on ebay as a Transfer to DVD but shmucks would claim illegal copyright and get refunded and obtain the Video for free and my time to transfer it. so not offering it anymore through ebay, contact me at panavision@bigpond.com for it

@cobragirl1123 in the original Love Bug in 1969 Herbies Horn was done with a voltage regulator attenuator to give the impression of sighing and herbies emotional effects, in this film Herbie Love bug 97 it is done with a sound grabber and played through a keyboard synthesizer...it was also done in the Herbie TV series This way.

@TEONI2104 it was never released on dvd it was a made video production that aired on The wonderful World of Disney and the aspect ratio is in 4:3 Tv Screen format some people have transferred good copies of thier VHS release and duplicating them on DVD on Ebay but it is a bootleg copy however if you don't have a VHS Player this could be your only option

May not be the best Herbie film, but still pretty epic. Especially because of Horace, who I think is possibly the best Herbie villain ever. It was also epic cause they brought back Herbie's old owner, Jim Douglas. There is one thing I feel that this movie should have had during the race sequences.... The original Herbie theme music from the original Love Bug film.
