Hi, I have a question, the people that are now homeless before they go to war were did they live? Also in the news they say that the troops salary is really high. I'm not from USA so i don't really know how it works or more about it sorry. if someone could reply id appreciate, thank you.

Our veterans deserve the best this country has to offer -- it is a crime they come home from combat duty and find themselves homeless, without food, money, jobs, health coverage, etc. It's time to fund the VA properly! Thank you sir, for your service and sacrifice for my freedom.
All citizens deserve the best--it is sad in this nation there is such disparity between the wealthiest 1% and average Americans. The plight of our vets really hurts me; the Pentagon should work to uphold the rights of active duty soldiers by providing all the equipment/armour they need (there are still troops without this!) & when they come "home" many find they are homeless, jobless, & don't receive medical care they badly need. It's so wrong for govt. to lie to them.
Actually, if the wealthiest 1% in this nation paid taxes, it would fund a lot of programs. Why don't people want vets to get their benefits? Right now, there are 200,000 homeless vets in America. Shame on us!

i love hearing opinions of people who have never even been in combat or in the military. i relate to this guy, i cant find a job as I am just an infantryman, but im going back active duty. and to the guy who said its impossible to feel sorry for us, cuz we're volinteers, we dont want your fucking pity, how bout showing some respect and just getting a clue?
Not everyone comes from ware completely the same... the shit they see out there is unhuman... how many people do you know see people getting blown up on a daily bases? or their best friends getting shot? If they came home and aren't able to go back to their old lives, that in itself is reason enough.
Our government fails to give veterans what they needed to get back into civilian life... and thats somebody to help them back... coming home to nothing is much worse then coming home at all.

How come so few of these "vets" never come back to their law practices, their medical clinics, their high-paying businesses, or schools they teach at?
How many times do you publicly admit the career oath you chose was absolutely wrong? I think there's a significant difference between having a strong military and misusing it for purely political means.
I'm playing this guy in a play at school. If it weren't for it, I wouldn't have even known what our veterans went through when they came home.
