What format is best at rendering a video with surround sound? I can see how I can render an audio file with 5.1 surround. When I try to render a video however, I can't find the surround option in most formats. The XDCAM EX (*.mp4) format has the option of 4 channels but when I click on that option in the custom menu, I get a pop-up saying that it's not valid with my current project settings.
Can anyone help? I've made this awesome thing and it makes use of the surround sound and when I play it in vegas it sounds perfect but when I render it as mp3 or wav you can't hear a lot of the background noises and sometimes the sounds are too quiet. I've tried switching it to stereo, mono, joint-stereo, dual channel on mp3 but with no luck. Any formats that will render it exactly as in vegas?!
@scarylegodudes Try to get it to .flac somehow, it might help since aparently .flac is good for surround, .wav should also work, not sure though. Just a pro tip, use Audacity, or some fancy Adobe-software to make multichannel stuff.
Your talking as if your teaching somebody basics of surround sound. People come to this to create tracks for their 5.1 systems, not to listen to some guy tell us his life story on home audio.
Thanks a lot! This tut was so useful! :D All tutorials I saw kept forgeting to mention the step you mentioned at 3:10. Now at last I can make my 5.1 audio track. Thanks again!
hey buddy! is it possible to import a dvd with 5.1 sound in vegas pro 8, then mute all speakers except the center box, and rendering as mpg? I only need the sound of the center in this case! thanks in advice!
I agree, can you show us how to render that bad boy so I can use it for a DVD??? When you render this file, it doesn't render all the sound channels and I'm left with no sound. Something to do with the multichannel functions?
