Im guessing that since they didn't make a add-on to extend gameplay they decided to make a gameplay that can effect the Mojave wasteland like in Fallout 3 with the nuke,the water infected with the FEV virus and deciding to destroy the Citadel.

can you say continuation of new vegas I have a feeling this will be like broken steel and you come back to the mojave and you must chose what factions live or are completely destroyed by those nuclear missiles all I have to say about that is the fort will have a more fallout 3 look to it LOL. But seriously this DLC will probably be one of the best that have ever come to a fallout game does anyone agree with me.

Be disappointed, it won't change the original ending. All the DLC's are doing are telling the sidestories of the Courier's journey. Completing this DLC will however change some aspects of the Mojave.
