@kooldarrin If you've ever wondered how three guys got such a big vocal sound in that part, it's because they used a thing called a vocorder. I'm not sure how it works. It has something to do with the machine adding a couple of harmonies to one of yours. Example: you sing the root and it will sing the 3rd and the 5th. I saw a guy sing flat using one of these once and the harmonies it gave were of course flat as well. It was funny as hell.
@Jay435 I know T-Pain is known for using a vocorder in most of his music and if you go-to "vocorder babies cry", you can also hear the change in harmonies. It's bad ass.
@oicduc .......keep on lovin it bro.................are you still after that bad a s s gossip from their '72 sojourn to the rockies that went so horribly wrong.............go to "enya the memory of trees runner157" you-tube site and press "see all" to find the 3 hidden comments.................regards.
@iamabeliever4life They are an awesome CDN Band. Bill Henderson lives on our island and he is a very nice fellow. He played in concert at our Fall Fair last week. I shot many videos of him performing hit songs. The vids are on my YouTube channel.
I'm taking the 30 Day Music Challenge on Facebook and posted this song in response to the question, "What song do you play when you're feeling happy?" I know, in essence this song is about heartbreak...but my GOD, what an uplifting rock & roll romp it is! Have loved it since day one, and ALWAYS have to hear it at full volume.
Cant believe it's 20 years ago, these guys were the shit in those days. Love the 3 part at 2:45, you can see that they know it's killer. Only Canadian boys could come up with this kind of stuff.
The world revolves in 500 year cycles. The last cycle ended in 1989 and we are in the infacy of another 500 year cycle. Good bye to the great music of the last 500 years, but at least at the end of this 500 year cycle and beyond, we have the medium to enjoy this, infinitely. Long live the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.
I miss this great music. All this super-computer advanced technology of today, yet music is absolute garbage. No soul or human emotion to speak of. Dumbed down into image over substance disposable dog food. We are living in the end times for sure
@noneofyoucanspell Well it's not exactly the height of conscious intelligence, thoughtful music or creativity...that's for damn sure..as once was...Great music used to be mainsteam, everywhere. Now we're fed robotic unfeeling stylized hate corporatized crap from Hollywood collective. There's no love in music anymore. They turned music into a weapon. And it's devolving more abysmal each passing year...Sad part is, people don't resist or demand better. They can't open their wallets fast enough$
@rg2027x Right on, man! Couldn't agree with you more. The only reassuring thing about the whole stinking, shitty situation is that a good number (not enough) of kids today do realize that today's "popular music" is about as exciting as an unflavored rice cake, and are embracing the music of the past...from when it was STILL MUSIC. I feel fortunate to be in my age group, being raised with the music of the 60s and 70s. And the EIGHTIES were a hell of a lot of fun, too.
WOW the first time i ever heard of this band, or heard anything by them. great song actually. music isn't as good as it was baack in the dayz i guesszz
It was so hard for canadian bands to penetrate the extremely protectionist American music industry in those days, short of moving down therel Which most talented Canadians did.
Brian "Too Loud" MacLeod 1952-1992, Gone, Gone, Gone. But lives forever in video and is forever young. He was a great guitarist and was taken too soon.
@glassbrain - not so much anymore....you haven't been out there lately obviously....the nicest community in the whole lower mainland is in "Chilliwack"...Garrison Crossing.
@tenyardrambo - obviously you haven't been out there lately.....Sardis is one of the nicest areas....you obviously haven't been there lately....check out the Garrison....
Although it blasted the charts accross the world, I still find it the most underrated pop song of all time . . . it just disappeared too fast after the hype.
Awsome! Took me 27 years to figure out who did this song off an obsure tape recording I've had all that time. Lyrics never forgot but too lazy to figure out. Redemption!
