Back in the 70s when the Heritage Singers were first starting, the music they sang was considered to be too modern for a lot of Adventists too. If you notice, a lot of their music from back then sounded like the pop music of that era. While nowadays we look back and view that music is old and "more traditional", back then it was considered too modern and "worldly" for a lot of people.
Music is constantly evolving. You know, way back in the third or fourth century when Christian music was first being written and used, the use of ANY instruments was frowned upon. Also, only perfect 4ths and perfect 5ths were considered sacred and anything else was considered to be of the devil, which would make literally every song you hear nowadays "of the devil", even your "sacred" hymns most of which were only written within the past couple centuries.
With regard to statements such as 'I thought they were SDA - it does not sound like it', once again I am left in a total state of confusion. Firstly, the group is a Christian group and whilst its founders and directors and a large part of its audience are Adventists, it is no secret that over the years many of the singers are God-fearing Christians who love the Lord, but are of other faiths. The message is very much in line with Scripture (which is what the SDA church believes to be paramount,

I absolutely love what the Heritage singers are doing!! I'm glad they get these opportunities. Their music, even their newer style, is bringing me back to listen to the gospel through music instead of just "whatever." I listened to them when I was young with my parents, and now I'm listening all the time for myself.
To me, their older southern gospel style is timeless, and it reaches many international audiences. Then, their younger style reaches young people like me effectively. Praise God!
I've been a HS fan for more then 15 years, since I was a boy and I knew the church. I've brought their music to churches where they were not known at all; it's kind of sad to see they are loosing their identity. They used to be unique, what a pity! God bless Max and the whole group. sounds good. i have about 6 heritage videos. i only have one of them singing though. it was them rehearsing. the rest are the dialouge the older gentelman does.

I grew up SDA now I am oneness apostolic! I am now no longer under the law and condemnation of the law, but now under grace and power of the Holy Ghost. The bible says if you are going to live under the law then follow the whole law. But now in Jesus Christ we are in Grace and no longer under the law. Praise Jesus! Anyoneder have you read Romans Chapter 8? Romans 6:15? Only through the Holy Spirit can one live a holy life. It is in ourselves to be righteous but only through the Holy Ghost. The law of moses states obey the sabbath and the law also states that every first born male must be circumsized. I know for a fact not all SDA males are circumsized. Follow the whole law or not? We are now no longer under the law. Where the Spirit is there is liberty: 2 Cor 3:17.
humhunny, in the time of judgement we will all stand before the 10 commandments written in stone standing before us in bold letters from 1 to 10. it will be shown to us in which law we have transgressed. the law is the fundament in which we are sopose to live. Jesus said hear my voice but if we don´t listen we will not be saved. the law is his voice and his character. if deliberately disobeyed the law then Grace is no effect at all. law and grace work together.

humhunny, the Holy Spirit will not misguide you away from the truth. upon the outpouring of the Holy Spirit the hearers understood what the apostles were preaching about the gospel, probably they understood also the will of God and His laws. the hearers´heart were touched by the Holy Ghost caused them to surrender their life and accepted Jesus Christ as their saviour and when they heard the word of God they were baptized about 3,000 of them. surely they were graced & obeyed the law.
humhunny, being saved by the grace of God doesn´t mean you are free to transgress the law. it means that if we were given pardon and freed from punishment, then we must be more obedient to the law and more carefull not to commit sin again. we can´t deny this truth if we have the true Spirit who give us understanding. if we say we accept grace and yet we dishonor the commandments of God then it is not the Holy Spirit that we have but the enemy´s spirit. if we have false spirit, we´re blind.
humhunny, read again and study carefully Acts chapter 2 prayerfully and you will understand the meaning of Acts 2:1-4. during the filling of the Holy Spirit at pentecost there were also many that did not believed the apostles, verse 13. then Apostle Peter explain the meaning of what they heard(the hearer understood the language but not the meaning. if not then peter doesn´t need to.). this are the message: start from Acts 2:16 to the end of the chapter. the message is not the speaking of tonque

There are4 some exceptions but many SDA preachers use very little bible in their sermons. Also notice how little bible the SDA conference president usues in the Advent magazine in his articles. Too many SDA big shots are of the world and do not value the bible like they ought. Jesus would warn of them to beware of their leaven.
4th commandment/sabbath trashing is about the most obvious religious con job/deception on EARTH. Just compare how 99% of the church use ACTS 20:7 and never teach about ACTS 13:42-4, 16:13, 17:2 and 18:4. The usual text used is Col 2:16,17 and by many who don't have a clue what they are talking about. If PAUL trashed the sabbath, why didn't he warn all of those gentiles in ACTS to stop hanging around the Jews and come worship with him on the SUNday/Lord's day???????? SATAN has the church sinning

I grow up SDA in Peru, Now I'm not anymore 'cause I don't believe Helen White.I remember pastors asking for more money, not only tithe, but that they call pact or agreement with God. My congregation were great but poor people, with not enough source for get money, even for food ... but ASD need more and more for them!!! I saw pastors with good stuff. Im'not a renegade, but I didn't like it. Now, I live in peace and I do everything for people who are in need. God bless me every day of my life.

Most SDA are hooked on the WORLD and want to stay here. This is why they don't spread their religion or gospel. It might hasten the 2nd coming of Jesus. God will purge them from the church and they will go to the lake of fire.

not all sda are properly trained preachers. not all are learned pastors. many don´t have theological background, many are only lay preachers that study bible by themselves, many are no read and no write but the Holy Spirit is using them in spreading the gospel to the world in their atmost capacity because they are just f´wing Gods command to spread His words to d ´hole w´ld. and yet you r creticizing every word of them. only the pharisees during J´sus time were doing that.

I start with bible and finish with bible. I use the Neh 8:8 approach to explain and apply the scripture. The message usually covers more than one topic because the audience is all over the map as far as age, interest, and spiritual maturity.

If Jesus walked into SDA churches, he would tell the pastors...FEED MY SHEEP. Most are serving junk food and appetizers. I spoke with one 2 weeks ago who admitted he actually dumbs down his sermons to the level that he perceives his audience is at. The ministerial directors know that most pastors are incompetent. They just don't do much about it because they don't want to risk their retirement checks.

God would be honored if the preachers would present something of this quality in their sermons instead of cheap innocuous messages aimed at grade school level spiritual mentality. Their oversight ministerial divisions are almost useless and are on the receiving end of religious financial welfare payments from the tithe. Most SDA are dumbed down by dumb ministers.

I grew up SDA now I am oneness apostolic! I am now no longer under the law and condemnation of the law, but now under grace and power of the Holy Ghost. The bible says if you are going to live under the law then follow the whole law. But now in Jesus Christ we are in Grace and no longer under the law. Praise Jesus! Those under law are under death and judgment Praise God I am now in Christ Jesus!

Anyoneder have you read Romans Chapter 8? Romans 6:15? Only through the Holy Spirit can one live a holy life. It is in ourselves to be righteous but only through the Holy Ghost. The law of moses states obey the sabbath and the law also states that every first born male must be circumsized. I know for a fact not all SDA males are circumsized. Follow the whole law or not? We are now no longer under the law. Where the Spirit is there is liberty: 2 Cor 3:17.

humhunny, in the time of judgement we will all stand before the 10 commandments written in stone standing before us in bold letters from 1 to 10. it will be shown to us in which law we have transgressed. the law is the fundament in which we are sopose to live. Jesus said hear my voice but if we don´t listen we will not be saved. the law is his voice and his character. if deliberately disobeyed the law then Grace is no effect at all. law and grace work together.

humhunny, the Holy Spirit will not misguide you away from the truth. upon the outpouring of the Holy Spirit the hearers understood what the apostles were preaching about the gospel, probably they understood also the will of God and His laws. the hearers´heart were touched by the Holy Ghost caused them to surrender their life and accepted Jesus Christ as their saviour and when they heard the word of God they were baptized about 3,000 of them. surely they were graced & obeyed the law.

humhunny, being saved by the grace of God doesn´t mean you are free to transgress the law. it means that if we were given pardon and freed from punishment, then we must be more obedient to the law and more carefull not to commit sin again. we can´t deny this truth if we have the true Spirit who give us understanding. if we say we accept grace and yet we dishonor the commandments of God then it is not the Holy Spirit that we have but the enemy´s spirit. if we have false spirit, we´re blind.

the message at the pentecost was not the speaking of tonques as what your beliefs is but about the comming events that are going to happen prior to the 2nd comming of the LOrd. because the hearer were from diferent countries and varied languages, the Holy Spirit then abled them to understand the language of the apostles. they were amazed of what was happenning. peter explain that in the last day Jesus will pour out the Holy Spirit upon all flesh, read verse 17 to 21.

humhunny, if you really grown up SDA you must have understand that mosaic law is not the same as moral law of God. as a citizen of one government he or she must obey the law of that government or else you will be out lawed. so much more when it comes to God´s gov´t. we have to obey and follow his laws base on 10 com´ments in order to be law abiding children of God. yes we are saved by grace but we must still be obedient to God and still to honor His law. may the Spirit enlightens you.

There are4 some exceptions but many SDA preachers use very little bible in their sermons. Also notice how little bible the SDA conference president usues in the Advent magazine in his articles. Too many SDA big shots are of the world and do not value the bible like they ought. Jesus would warn of them to beware of their leaven.

4th commandment/sabbath trashing is about the most obvious religious con job/deception on EARTH. Just compare how 99% of the church use ACTS 20:7 and never teach about ACTS 13:42-4, 16:13, 17:2 and 18:4. I grow up SDA in Peru, Now I'm not anymore 'cause I don't believe Helen White.I remember pastors asking for more money, not only tithe, but that they call pact or agreement with God. My congregation were great but poor people, with not enough source for get money, even for food ... but ASD need more and more for them!!! I saw pastors with good stuff. Im'not a renegade, but I didn't like it. Now, I live in peace and I do everything for people who are in need. God bless me every day of my life.

If Jesus walked into SDA churches, he would tell the pastors...FEED MY SHEEP. Most are serving junk food and appetizers. I spoke with one 2 weeks ago who admitted he actually dumbs down his sermons to the level that he perceives his audience is at. The ministerial directors know that most pastors are incompetent. They just don't do much about it because they don't want to risk their retirement checks.

God would be honored if the preachers would present something of this quality in their sermons instead of cheap innocuous messages aimed at grade school level spiritual mentality. Their oversight ministerial divisions are almost useless and are on the receiving end of religious financial welfare payments from the tithe. Most SDA are dumbed down by dumb ministers.

Essa música é linda, super alegre e divertida!!! Só porque a música tem ritmo mais acelerado, não quer dizer que é mundana. Se ela faz pensar em Deus e nos faz felizes por estarmos com ele, então ela é perfeita!!!!

Remember no one has written praises to please your notion of what is acceptable...to God for "all our righteousness is as filthy rags before God" and that includes the most Pius music, the angels offer better music than us...
