That's an awesome figure! Cool warpaint too, I wonder if there are any Rancor stories in the Star Wars universe...It would be cool if they were sentient or somewhat sentient, the war paint kind of hints at it.
this version is from the force unleashed. a group of alien species tame them and use them as pets kind of like a dog. I'm sure there are other stories in the expanded universe but I'm not that into the expanded univerese really. some stuff is really cool like the force unleashed game but I think thats considered canon with the movies. you should play the game it's really good.
Yeah the legacy Rancor looks sick. Jabba's palace and the Sarlacc pit were my favorite scenes frm R.O.T.J. . I'm glad that they were showed some love this year.
Yeah, this hasn't been avalible since late June. It went on sale for depending on where you live $20-$28 versus when it first came out being about 40 or 45. People went crazy for them at that cheap price.
Very Cool! I'm probably going to skip on getting The Force Unleashed figures myself, except I traded for the battle-damaged Vader, which is also a cool figure. I've still got the vintage Rancor and had the newer one, with Luke and the bone. You ever seen that one? The Rancor is real detailed in that one, although I sold mine, kinda want to buy one back sometime....
I think that you are referring to the p.o.t.f. 2 Rancor right? Yes that version is detailed but the back is spray painted I think and it makes look really unrealistic. I haven't seen it for a while though. They are coming out with a new one this year or early next year too. I think that they will probably use the same sculpt though. Thanks for watching. Captain Rex review will be next.
I see. I agree, the Rancor looks great in the box.
I open almost all of my star wars stuff, but if i find the packaging interesting, or if i think it can be used for a diorama in the future, i save it.
lol. are you keeping that rancor in it's cage, or did you open him up?
That's a pretty good deal you got on that set. I'll check for one next time i'm at target. I don't go there very often, it's a long drive to the nearest one.
Yeah if a vehicle/figure has a clear plastic cover than I keep it in the box. I have a shadow biker scout which was last year's S.D. comic-con exclusive, t.r.u. exclusive y-wing and a couple of other stuff boxed. I also have about 2 and a hald dozen carded figures. This Rancor box has a nice forest background which gives it a diorama look. Same thing with the Y-wing they have it set up. The back ground has a picture which is the rebels at their base preparing for the battle of yavin.
check out my rancor videos. they display the rancor in this video in different situations.
