Actually, the English dub is similar in some ways. The "truth and love" bit is there, and the 3rd and 4th lines are kind of similar. But this is much better than 'prepare for trouble and make it double'.
I feel kinda bad for whoever had to translate this to english!! just think-they had to follow the tune and make it sound cool and kinda similar too!! Must've been a pain...
@Shadowfox026 A white hole is something though of as the "other end" of a black whole, where everything sucked in is spat back out, typically as intense radiation, giving it a white color. None of these have ever been discovered and it's not a widely accepted idea, but I think that's the gist of it.
@maybear97 The episodes exist out there, at least for season one but not all of them (especially season one) are subtitled. "PM subs" does a bunch of Japanese Pokemon episodes and is looking to sub the older releases too, so it's worth looking them up.

@Montesama Yeah, it's a little weird. I've come across a lot of translation and they tend to vary around those particular words. Likely because Japanese needs to be read in context and is different when translated word-by-word and different translators taking it different ways, etc. Either way, the two versions are similar but not-so-similar in a confusing way.
@Montesama Do you mean only those words? You have to think of the phrasing of both the official and standard translations. The English dub makes them seem more as people who are looking for a fight "Prepare for trouble!" whereas the Japanese version has them announcing themselves only when asked. Also, while the English duo /denounces/ the evils of truth and love, the Japanese duo perpetuate it - a clear difference there.
They are just like Saturos and Menardi from Golden Sun, except they are not as cool (though with Japanese voices they sound cool): Red/Blue composing a unity. Masonic, I suspect. Red lodge, blue lodge. Red pill, blue pill. Mario, Superman and Spiderman are red and blue.... Many flags have red and blue.... There's much more to say, but you guys are not here for the truth, but for entertainment. Back to it, then!
@tthir15 English version is for 6 year old kid wannabes. Japanese version is badass and for all ages. You don't even need to understand it! Fuck English version though
@tthir15 Anyone can watch Pokemon!! Its like Sailor Moon or Powerpuff Girls (Z)! You think its for little kids at first, but once you start watching it again, you realize why you loved it in the first place!! :) Its for people of all ages.
I hear that's exactly where their names have come from. Also, Jessie's mother was named Miyamoto in a special Pokemon radio drama, so their names have indeed come from those two ancient swordsmen.
@lumlane I kind of like how in the english version, all the team rocket members are named after famous outlaws of the old west, (Jesse and James are Jesse James, and Cassidy and Butch are Butch Cassidy) I always have thought of the old west as America's version of legend.
@lumlane Wow, that's interesting! Thanks for telling us that! And in the English version, Jessie and James I think were related to the criminal, Jesse James. Or something along those lines.
Lol. The initial Pokemon episodes in English had a deep voice close to this, but decided it would be better for the audience if it was changed to something more comical. I supposed it suited the mass cross-dressing scenes going on.
I always thought it was much more funny when his voice was deep and he cross dressed. Now it's just stereotypically dull. I still love them though. They will always be my favorite villains in any show or cartoon.
