Hi, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?! What movie is that opening scene from (the motorcyclist driving on the road)? Also, what is the name of the song that acompanies that clip?
what could i say about Doyle? I've dicided to be a cinemaphotografer after i had whatched him movies. 2046 it was the most unforgatable expirience in my life.
ahhaha wow thanks for the comment! Indeed im also planning to become a cinematographer as well no thanks to Chris Doyle (it was ITMFL that started it all) :)
i belive that it's a mix of gadgets. Lights with colour filter, maybe filter at the lens and the most important device: telecine. I don't know if you know, but it's a kind of photoshop for videos. you change the colours in a lot of ways.
can someone explaine to me what exactly does a cinematographer do? My understanding is that they in charge of shooting .But do they choose the angle, the color, the compositions? For example, Michael Bay has his own style. So he would tell the Cinematographer what to shoot? Is the director the one that come up with the shot? or just tell the Ciematographer to just come up with the shot? I'm confused.
The cinematographer works with the director to come up with the visual look for the film. It's not necessarily one or the other that chooses the shots; it's a collaborative process. For example, the director might have an idea for how he/she wants to shoot a particular scene/shot. The cinematographer gives their input on each aspect (lighting, lens choice, composition, etc.) and the director approves or makes changes or whatever. In general, the cinematographer is the "photographer" of the film.
Hey Mbhweee. I don't know who mr doyle is or what type of music this is. However, I do know what I hate and I do not hate this. I like it a lot. Good job man.
Hey philadkins2003, well to give you a rundown: Chris Doyle is a renowned Australian cinematographer who has worked with many great film directors such as Wong Kar Wai, Zhang Zimou (Hero) and Philip Noyce (Rabbit Proof Fence). And the music in this tribute are some songs used WKW's '2046'. And it's great to know you enjoyed it :) THANKS!
Thanks for the comment. The second song used is 'Perfidia' by Xavier Cugat. There's many renditions of this song, so try looking for the one used in 2046.
...ineffable sadness......
