  • I posted a video complete with tabs for this whole song on my page. Check it out if you're in to the whole country picking twang thing :)

  • Writes vapid turdburger songs. Picks the Tele like a firebreathing disciple of Lester Flatt. Guy ain't half bad.

  • I don't even like country and this made my jaw drop. What an amazing guitarist.

  • If this isn't amazing, I just pooped my pants for no reason!!!

  • i think there are 2 kinds of benders. one kind bends from the bottom strap button played with the players right hand and the other bends from the neck strap button and is used by tugging pushing down on the strap. that's what it looks like anyway.

  • lots of these licks are impossible on standard electric. he uses his hipshot bender quite a bit. danny gatton would be so proud.

  • for 340bpm, you think he'd play something faster than eighth-notes

  • i think we can slam dance to this

  • Face melting acoustic solo at :57 .. thats ripping right there

  • BRAD WEAARS HIS GUITART MUCH LOWER THESE DAYS!.... WONDER WHY

  • Uh.... What did I just see? Id say it was a guy playing guitar, but I can't be sure cause I could never see his hands...

  • Amazing guitar player and singer!

  • Hell, I can dig it.

  • i ordinarlily shit on pop country, but this is a diamond in the turd

  • I wish I could play guitar half as good as this guy.

  • makes it look so easy

  • And we thought blast beats are only heard on Thrash Metal. Check this out! This is at 340bpm!

  • OMG Brad is a guitar master!

  • thye guy with the lap steel guitar went out of time once 2:20

  • I'd be lying if I said I care about paisley's singing, but fuck that guy can play.

  • @carswell98 I'm the same way...I don't really care much for his his more popular songs like Celebrity, Online, I'm Gonna Miss Her, etc... but I could listen to him play guitar all day long.

  • @carswell98 I love his lyrics.

  • @bazz991 to each their own

  • this style of playing is so much harder then any heavy metal guitar haha

  • shredders try to play this...

  • This isn't a Black Flag cover.

  • I'm not putting the man down, he's a great talent and an awesome player. It's just that he's top 40 pop country, not hardcore COUNTRY country. Since the Outlaw movement died out in the mid-eighties I haven't heard much that wasn't plastic pop for the masses, other than Hank III of course. Anybody got any idea what he's doing in that one second lick at 1:31? Sounds like harmonics with a B-bender, but I don't think he's using one.

  • @Nyquilcoma Harmonics with a bend, You can't even tell what he's playing and your saying he's not good? I don't give a damn what genre of music you play... Of you can write and play a song such as this you are GREAT!

  • @justinge999 and all Paisley fans: I've never said Paisley was no good. On the contrary if you read my posts you'll see I compliment his talent and his playing several times. I just don't care for much of what he's done with his talent-"Online", e.g., is commercial pseudo-country pop dreck at its most crass. If BP did nothing but instrumentals, I'd probably be a big fan. That lick at 1:31? Harmonics with a Mcvay G-bender, figured that out. Great player.

  • Never been the biggest country fan, but mad respect for the great guitarists like Brad Paisley, Brent Mason, Doyle Dykes, Johnny Hiland, etc.

  • Brad and Nuno, best two shredders out there...

  • Brad and Nuno, best to shredders out there...

  • I'd like to see tommy emmanuel do this. just see what the result would be

  • @bgflorijn I'd bet it'd be as amazing, especially if he played it with his brother who is just as amazing a guitarist :)

  • banjo and kazooie music lol xD

  • I hate this guy. He's part of everything that's been wrong with country music for the past 25 years. But, Jesus Christ, can he pick! Watch the right hand and gasp! He has a legion that follows his amp settings for every show.

  • @Nyquilcoma At this point, I think he's the last hope for anything even REMOTELY close to real country on today's top 40 country radio. Once Strait and Jackson hang it up, there's not much left.

  • @Nyquilcoma Listen to "Whiskey Lullaby" and try saying those 1st two sentences again. And yes, he is one of the greatest guitarists alive in my opinion

  • The cat can play!!

  • Damned if I don't think he's faster than Albert Lee.

  • I was actually hoping that this would be a Black Flag cover as well.

But it still rips. Brad is a sick player.

Also, that NOFX beat for the whole song makes this whole thing defy categorization.

  • THIS IS NOT BLACK FLAG!!!

  • Nice hybrid picking.

  • THE GUY AT 1:53 BLEW MY MIND!

  • I also read about this song in Guitar World too, amazing.... 340bpm?!?!?!?! shit man thats insane. I have played shows with alot of death metal bands over the years, and its vary rare to hear of them going over 210bpm. man you rock!

  • For all of you just wondering I got Brad Paisleys new album "This is country music" and he has a western instrumental called "Eastwood" which is probaly one of the most bad ass songs i've heard in a while. And man can he pick the guitar!!!!

  • i love this!

HOW THE FUCK CAN 18 PPL DISLIKED THIS????

i know how! the beat was too catchy and made them all dance on the dislike.

  • Ugh....don't you hate seeing a lick, hearing it, understanding it, knowing EXACTLY how you'd like to use it.....all the time realizing you can't PHYSICALLY do it (yet).

    Frustrating!

  • @jjkrause84 Similar experiences on the drums. Generally this feeling of inadequacy results in repeated 4-6 hour sit down/practice sessions where I alternately count, listen, air-drum, and then individually learn the limbs. Having little experience on guitar, I can't even imagine how daunting that would be since only 1 of those methods really works. GL.

  • nice? wordclass!

  • Fuckin'-A, bubba!

  • Craziest part= :59. That guy plays a burning solo....

  • Brad Paisley you are simply the BEST!

  • The 17 who didn't like this must not like guitar music. WOW! I've got to get some of his CD's. I knew he was good, but I had only heard his vocal songs on radio. Belongs up there with Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins, etc.

  • @fenderbender534 You should start with his 2008 album PLAY--it's mainly instrumentals and they range in genre from Paisley's usual country stuff to rock, blues and jazz. He even did a surf rock instrumental on that album! The album also features a number of other guitarists including B.B. King, Albert Lee, Steve Wariner, James Burton, etc.

  • D:

  • Let's have another listen to this Redneck Speedmetal Dude.

    Yep, awesome !

  • they tried to put this song on guitar hero but the test participants went insane and used the guitar to sodomize themselves from the frustration of not being awesome enough to play it

  • @sanctuary1221 thanks alot asshole! i took a drink of my soda and spit it out all over my desk! your comment made me laugh so hard...im still laughing ......haha yeah pretty awesome song tho... ;) ..note to self: dont drink anything while im reading comments! lol...

  • @sanctuary1221 thanks for the laugh...;)

  • WOW!!! I did not know Brad Paisley could burn on the six string like that. I''ve always respected the guy as a musician, but he pleasantly surprised me in this video. Awesome stuff!

  • Almost sounds like the skate punk haha

  • I nice dance tune!!!

  • hes great but he overplays for my taste!!!Slow down just a bit!!

  • That pinch harmonic at 1:30 always gets me.

  • @bob1987ify You are absolutely right! I never caught that before... He gets me at 1:07- 1:19.. He's very original I just wish I could play like him!

  • @bob1987ify yea! and in concert it screams!

  • @bob1987ify Those were normal harmonics--not pinch harmonics. However, Paisley did use his G-bender system to bend the harmonic note.

  • DUDE now thats some guitar playin. Made my fingers hurt just watchin it.

  • what is this wizardy?

  • Give this man a high gain amp, and he'll melt the faces of all the wankers out there!

  • Why does Brad pour water behind the violinist? 2:11

  • @ryanjurek cause he was burning that fiddle up metaphorically speaking

  • THATS A FUCKING HO-DOWN!

  • This would have sounded so much better with a Boss Metal Zone.

    bwhahahahahaa

    go get 'em Brad

  • The soundtrack to any proper car chase, bar-brawl, drunken hoedown or ukranian lesbian moonshine-catered wedding.

  • Well .. at last I found someone who could make this kind of guitar-playing sound AWESOME without distortion :)

  • and im a blues fan and i appreciate this because it reminds me of king of the hill, the best show ever made!

  • @ragingstorm33 Speaking of 'King of the Hill,' didn't Paisley do a voice on one episode of that? Well, I've never seen it, but my brother--who loves that show--told me Paisley did. Anyway, you should check out Paisley's song "Time Warp," which starts off in jazz, goes to country, goes back and forth between jazz and country another time or two and ends up in a blue section then goes back to a jazz and country section. Paisley also has a blues tune called "Playing with Fire."

  • this is way toooooooooo fast!

  • I'm supposed to be playing this for a gig. Does anybody know the acoustic chordal backing? Can't to play it. Mental licks!

  • @mollers92 There's a book with the standard notation and tabs for this tune...I believe the name of that book is 'Best of Brad Paisley' and you can find it on Amazon and probably on Musician's Friend by now.

  • @badfinger848 Its alright I worked it out. Gig went great! I will buy that book anyway though haha.

  • what year was this in? fucking amazing

  • @pilotlightdan it was in 2000. Everything he does with that guitar is amazing. You should look up the songs Time Warp and Throttlekneck, or anything off of his instrumental album

  • B.P. Sure can shred..!! I think he could hold his own with most.

  • The tone is just perfect....nevermind the playing!

  • Anyone know who the piano player is or know of any people that can play country piano like him?

  • Just because of this song, i now respect country music entirely.

  • @litterboxplayhouse Check out Jerry Reed's Claw

  • @wildcatter63 thank's for showing me!

  • Nice,clean picking!

  • Country goes amphetamine? Brilliant!

  • THis IS JUST TOO MUCH !! one of the best guitar shreds !!

  • Absolutely incredible!!! The faster you play, the easier it is. But UNTIL you reach that speed...yo gotta excercise a lot - sigh!

  • Amazing!!! He´s a genious!

  • Eddie Van Halen on cornbread :D

  • @tacoburn11 Sorry, I like King Edward, but I've never seen him pick a guitar like this. Maybe he needs to eat cornbread :-P

  • PAISLEY ROCKS!!

  • Even if I COULD play that fast, and that clean, I'd have to stand in one spot and totally concentrate. Brad walks around like he has other things on his mind.

  • Great guitar playing...wow!

  • They would ban Elvis's hips on tv but not tbh mans fingers?... Come on! Lol I bet his wife loves him haha

  • lets see some play this on a plastic guitar with buttons ;P

  • @AkikoTokamo1 I want to see Brad play it on a plastic guitar - THAT would be impressive! lol

  • ive played metal for 2 years and i can barely play this fast, let alone this clean

  • @Littlebesty7 turn the distortion off....If you ever think you play this fast or clean...make a video and we'll comment.

  • just incase anyone wants a tab i found one

    h tt p://w w w.johnhuld t.co m/pages /lesson spage .asp?id=5

    great fun to learn

  • @MAredneck927: Amen to that, chief.

  • I am a metal fan but I can appreciate this because this guy can shred. Thumbs up if you read about this song in Guitar World magazine.

  • @MAredneck927 Definitely thumbs (and horns) up!!! \m/ *horns up* \m/

  • @MAredneck927 look closer is chicken picking, more difficult than shred, you can't appreciate this, you have to love this ;)))

  • @MAredneck927 eddie van halen on cornbread hes been called.. needless to say mr paisley here is a badass with his tele

  • @paintballwillie what the hell is in that cornbread??

  • @ragingstorm33 leetsauce... the secret ingridient is "leetsauce"

  • @MAredneck927 "I am a metal fan but I can appreciate this because this guy can shred." CRINGEEEEE!!!!!

  • @MAredneck927 read the article and had to see this. Damn good guitar playing.

  • @MAredneck927 Yeah i heard about him from guitar world magazine too.

  • @MAredneck927 i didnt but what did it say about it?

  • @MAredneck927 The saddest comment all over the net so far :D

  • @MAredneck927 A metal shredder couldn´t do this cause he would be too busy posing and making faces.

  • @MAredneck927 i did. this song's performed at a whoppin 340bpm. now that's shred. i didnt dig satch's comment that fusion players dont shred they were definitely some of the first shredders

  • 1999

  • At least 12 people need to put up their own video or GTFO

  • anybody got footage of him and Brent Mason! love to see it!

  • I'd kill for a guitar tab. I'd probably even settle for a text tab.

  • @Ghostman7777 try tallstromDOTcom and click on licks and tricks. then it should be at the top. sorry youtube wouldnt let me post a link but i hope it helps

  • GO BRAD GO !

  • Is playing this good even legal?

  • @JustinZChastain With how few guitarists out there nowadays who can barely even play half as well as Paisley, it sure doesn't seem that playing this well is legal--that's for sure!

  • This tab is NOT in this months Guitar World, this SONG is mentioned as one of the top 30 shred tunes, NO TAB

  • if you really need the tab, it was in this months Guitar World magazine. it was the one with Satriani and the 30 greatest shredders.

  • @daking7658 sorry bro but i dont see it in here. :/

  • @daking7658 Ha! I read the same magazine... damn, can this guy play!

  • wow.. awsome

  • Brad has been called "Eddie Van Halen on cornbread." After seeing this, I'm inclined to believe that. Some seriously smokin' shit he pulls off there!

  • brad paisley=eddie van halen on cornbread

  • nice pretty sick for a country man haha

  • As I Metalhead I can get into this. It's like Death Metal, dare I say Death Country? LOL

  • @ozzyshedder23 If you haven't heard of him, check out John 5 as well...but his solo stuff only--not the stuff he did with Marilyn Manson. 5's solo albums are full of metal and country instrumentals. Often, he even combines the two. Also, if you want Paisley's 'guitar album,' it's called PLAY and Paisley plays far more than just country on it.

  • Never heard this guy before. I've heard of him, but never heard him as I am no country fan at all. He was profiled in Guitar World, so I figured I'd give him a listen. I am so glad I did. That was bad ass!
