Jeff Dunham is a great comedian, but he's only an above average ventriloquist. Terry Fator, however, is one of the best ventriloquists I've ever seen.
@kingslorenzo I disagree. While there are many ventriloquists that do comedy, name even 1 normal singer, of any sort, that can sing the range of his voices let alone PERFECTLY. Plus he adds a lightness to all the performances that make you so comfortable you melt into his performance and forget hes even doing anything. Truly one of the most amazing humans i've ever seen.

I've met him before and seen a his show a few times in vegas, he really is a great guy and loves his fans! so glad he is finally being able to live his dream!

Amazing talent of the highest caliber! Wish I could meet a ventriloquist like that and engaging in a conversation with him. That would really be fascinating! Talking while your lips are hardly moving is stupendously difficult and to think that Terry Fator could also do some terrific singing is simply awesome! With any of his voices he could have made a world carreer as a singer. For over 20 years he must have strongly believed in his success as a ventriloquist. Unbelievable guy. He definitely deserved to win.

Terry's a fucking boner. In a year, he'll be playing a back street casino in Vegas where he belongs, or attempting to rake in the cash playing kid's birthday parties.
Butterscotch was annoying with her music rhytms, because it was good at first, but then it got BORING with the same sh*t everytime, and that why Butterscotch didn't win the competition.
I liked the duet between Cas and UB40...it was his biggest dream come true, but my ventriloquist had to win :):):)

Julienne has this little voice that made her think she could sing. If you were going to sing on a talent show, you could have gone to American Idol! But it was going to be in vain, because she would get eliminated first HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHH! The final two were just as I wanted...Cas Haley and Terry Fator.
I didnt think Julienne should have made it to the top 20, it should have been that other blonde singer girl, lol. I was really torn between Cas and Terry, i like them both equally, i think :3 way to go terry.
Sorry guys, but there's a little word over there! It's calleds "skill"! If this guy is as good as he looks then he shouldn't have any problems with stress. Imagine a singer looking like he did! If all actors/singers looked like that... Look at Cas Haley! He is in a confort zone! That's the most important thing! If you get this far you are talented, but if you're confortable you win! I really think that actors don't take in consideration their confort But looking good is 25% of the act!!!
This show is a talent show, not a show about who looks comfortable, which is why Terry won. And again, he did look more comfortable in his other videos. Also, a lot of facial expression involves moving the mouth, where he is trying his hardest to keep it perfectly still. If you want to see him look comfortable, look at the video he did after he won. He looks very comfortable and happy in that one.
It is a talent show! Having a talent isn't enough! I might be the best singer in the world, but if I am scared, stressed it equals to 0! This guy is very talented but he needs to keep "upgrading" himself!
You are right singing with out moving your lips is hard, imitating somebody is so much more difficult! But everybody in the "brench", tv, radio...etc may tell you that every actor's goal is perfection, Armstrong was perfect, the world didn't want to change a thing! That's the kind of perfection I'm talking about! This guy is good, but he's not perfect!
He is not supposed to be moving. The idea is that its supposed to look like the puppet is singing and Terry is just sitting there enjoying the show. The fact that he's able to remain rigid and not move while singing a big song like that is amazing.
This will be one hell of a debate. He is suppose to move. If you look very at him you see that he really isn't confortable, I am not saying he should move his lips, but he has to you a bit of body language. I work in television and I should know. looking forward to your answer.
Having watched it again, I can kind of see what your referring to. He doesnt look overly comfortable, but the idea is still to make the puppet look alive and like its really singing, and he excels at this. He's using both hands to control the puppet so cant really have that much body language, but his face doesnt look all that comfortable. Considering what he's doing though, I'd say thats somewhat understandable.
See now we're on the same page! Try searching on Youtube: "Jeff Duhnam Arguing With Myself" He is a wonderfull ventriloquist and you'll see he's using two puppets, his voice, talking to the crowd. He is what I call an amazing ventriloquist. This guy isn't bad eather, but I told you the face tells you he dosn't feel quit comfortable.
Yes but has Jeff Duhnam ever sung a Dean Martin song as a ventriloquist? Or imitated any singer for that matter? I think that this is sooo much more difficult than normal ventriloquism that not looking perfectly comfortable is perfectly understandable. Also, I think he does a better job of this on his last 2 videos.
Also, you may notice that when Terry Fator is talking to the judges with his puppet or doing normal ventriloquism, he does look a lot more comfortable.
It is understandable if Terri does look a bit uncomfortable. Unlike Jeff Duhnam, Terri is competing for 1 million buckaroos....that enough explanation right there.

Butterscotch is talented, but I don't think it's a talent that's viable for commercial success. What she excels at is the ability to beatbox and sing at the

to hear it on a CD? I doubt it.

You after the top 20 round I thought that Butterscotch, Haley, and Fator were pretty much tied at the top. But these last two weeks Fator and Haley have really pulled away from the pack in my mind. While I may want Cas to win the most, if I were to judge based on pure talent, Fator would win in a landslide.
If you would like to see someone whom is a true professional at singing and beatboxing at the same time, look up Rahzel...and his song "Mother". This man is leaps and bounds beyond Butterscotch. Also, look up Joel Turner, whom was a guy who tried out for Australian Idol, and didnt make it past the first audition; however, he was the final performance on the show to get the crowd pumped up.
terry fator prob will win all of it cuz of his song selection, talent, i mean cmon he sings WAY better than cas haley, jason pritchet, and julienne irwin combined plus he has the experience since hes been doing this on stage for a long long time

In Spanish there's a saying that goes something like "among likes there's no fight"... kinda like we all have our opinions... I have never seen anyone sing while they beatbox... I don't know that anyone can beatbox... shoot, I can't! :) Having said that, I was just telling a friend this morning that I hope Terry wins. He is incredible.

Well MY opinion is that HE definitely is the Best contestant. ALL the rest are plain singers/1 beatboxer. Exept for sideswipe. But I dont really think at all that Sideswipe will win. They're pretty cool, but I mean, $1 million dollars for punches and backflips isn't right. Cas Haley is alright. the rest...meh. Terry is an ablosutly amazing singer,incredible impersonator, and a great comedian. And like Piers said, he sings better than most of the other contestants
I don't usually get so involved in these shows but I am over the moon that he's being recognized. He is sooooo talent and I truly hope his Vegas dream comes through he deserves it. I have NEVER seen Piers applaud ANYONE but Terry truly deserves and Yes I agree Butterscotch is "also" incredible... I'm sure she'll get a record deal
Cas and Butterscotch are very talented, but this guy is impersonating the original artists of popular songs and doing it as well as the original artist - all with his mouth closed! I can only imagine what his own voice sounds like and I'm sure if Terry Fator had entered the contest as a singer instead of a ventriloquist, he would have blown all the other contestants out of the water!! I can't wait to see what happens in this contest!!

Butterscotch was annoying with her music rhytms, because it was good at first, but then it got BORING with the same sh*t everytime, and that why Butterscotch didn't win the competition.
I liked the duet between Cas and UB40...it was his biggest dream come true, but my ventriloquist had to win :):):)

Julienne has this little voice that made her think she could sing. If you were going to sing on a talent show, you could have gone to American Idol! But it was going to be in vain, because she would get eliminated first HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHHAHAHAHH! The final two were just as I wanted...Cas Haley and Terry Fator.

I didnt think Julienne should have made it to the top 20, it should have been that other blonde singer girl, lol. I was really torn between Cas and Terry, i like them both equally, i think :3 way to go terry.

Sorry guys, but there's a little word over there! It's calleds "skill"! If this guy is as good as he looks then he shouldn't have any problems with stress. Imagine a singer looking like he did! If all actors/singers looked like that... Look at Cas Haley! He is in a confort zone! That's the most important thing! If you get this far you are talented, but if you're confortable you win! I really think that actors don't take in consideration their confort But looking good is 25% of the act!!!

This show is a talent show, not a show about who looks comfortable, which is why Terry won. And again, he did look more comfortable in his other videos. Also, a lot of facial expression involves moving the mouth, where he is trying his hardest to keep it perfectly still. If you want to see him look comfortable, look at the video he did after he won. He looks very comfortable and happy in that one.

It is a talent show! Having a talent isn't enough! I might be the best singer in the world, but if I am scared, stressed it equals to 0! This guy is very talented but he needs to keep "upgrading" himself!

You are right singing with out moving your lips is hard, imitating somebody is so much more difficult! But everybody in the "brench", tv, radio...etc may tell you that every actor's goal is perfection, Armstrong was perfect, the world didn't want to change a thing! That's the kind of perfection I'm talking about! This guy is good, but he's not perfect!

He is not supposed to be moving. The idea is that its supposed to look like the puppet is singing and Terry is just sitting there enjoying the show. The fact that he's able to remain rigid and not move while singing a big song like that is amazing.

This will be one hell of a debate. He is suppose to move. If you look very at him you see that he really isn't confortable, I am not saying he should move his lips, but he has to you a bit of body language. I work in television and I should know. looking forward to your answer.

Having watched it again, I can kind of see what your referring to. He doesnt look overly comfortable, but the idea is still to make the puppet look alive and like its really singing, and he excels at this. He's using both hands to control the puppet so cant really have that much body language, but his face doesnt look all that comfortable. Considering what he's doing though, I'd say thats somewhat understandable.

See now we're on the same page! Try searching on Youtube: "Jeff Duhnam Arguing With Myself" He is a wonderfull ventriloquist and you'll see he's using two puppets, his voice, talking to the crowd. He is what I call an amazing ventriloquist. This guy isn't bad eather, but I told you the face tells you he dosn't feel quit comfortable.

Yes but has Jeff Duhnam ever sung a Dean Martin song as a ventriloquist? Or imitated any singer for that matter? I think that this is sooo much more difficult than normal ventriloquism that not looking perfectly comfortable is perfectly understandable. Also, I think he does a better job of this on his last 2 videos.

Also, you may notice that when Terry Fator is talking to the judges with his puppet or doing normal ventriloquism, he does look a lot more comfortable.

It is understandable if Terri does look a bit uncomfortable. Unlike Jeff Duhnam, Terri is competing for 1 million buckaroos....that enough explanation right there.

wow, i listened to cas first and thought this guy should win...but saw some comments about terry so took a look here,these guys r awesome.very difficult to pick just 1.i think this is going to be a pick at the last day,if cas comes up with a incredible performance like walking on the moon he will win,but if not terry will take it.

Butterscotch is talented, but I don't think it's a talent that's viable for commercial success. What she excels at is the ability to beatbox and sing at the
same time, which is amazing in and of itself, but
would millions of Americans be willing to pay money
to hear it on a CD? I doubt it.
Cas on the other hand is gonna sell millions of CD's.
And Terry Fator is gonna be headlining in Vegas before
the end of 2008.

I watch him every day im not sick of it im shocked how someone could do this.. i tell you what if theres anyone that thinks he shouldnt win take terry here and the song he does play both at the same time at the same part of the song and you cant tell the difference.. he does it better then the true person that actually sings the song..i even show people this guy while at work, and of all places i work for american express.. i have to see if my work would get him there for some company events

You after the top 20 round I thought that Butterscotch, Haley, and Fator were pretty much tied at the top. But these last two weeks Fator and Haley have really pulled away from the pack in my mind. While I may want Cas to win the most, if I were to judge based on pure talent, Fator would win in a landslide.

If you would like to see someone whom is a true professional at singing and beatboxing at the same time, look up Rahzel...and his song "Mother". This man is leaps and bounds beyond Butterscotch. Also, look up Joel Turner, whom was a guy who tried out for Australian Idol, and didnt make it past the first audition; however, he was the final performance on the show to get the crowd pumped up.

In Spanish there's a saying that goes something like "among likes there's no fight"... kinda like we all have our opinions... I have never seen anyone sing while they beatbox... I don't know that anyone can beatbox... shoot, I can't! :) Having said that, I was just telling a friend this morning that I hope Terry wins. He is incredible.

I admit that it would be hard to choose a winner between Terry Fator, Butterscotch and Cas Haley. But, what I think I'd do, is give Terry the million $ and the title and then sign Butterscotch and Cas a recording contract. I enjoy listening to Butterscotch & Cas, but Terry & his puppets make me smile while I enjoy the singing... Good Luck Terry, you are truely so talented and so much a pleasure to watch perform! I wish you the best and hope to see you fulfill your dream of heading in Vegas...

Well MY opinion is that HE definitely is the Best contestant. ALL the rest are plain singers/1 beatboxer. Exept for sideswipe. But I dont really think at all that Sideswipe will win. They're pretty cool, but I mean, $1 million dollars for punches and backflips isn't right. Cas Haley is alright. the rest...meh. Terry is an ablosutly amazing singer,incredible impersonator, and a great comedian. And like Piers said, he sings better than most of the other contestants

I don't usually get so involved in these shows but I am over the moon that he's being recognized. He is sooooo talent and I truly hope his Vegas dream comes through he deserves it. I have NEVER seen Piers applaud ANYONE but Terry truly deserves and Yes I agree Butterscotch is "also" incredible... I'm sure she'll get a record deal

Cas and Butterscotch are very talented, but this guy is impersonating the original artists of popular songs and doing it as well as the original artist - all with his mouth closed! I can only imagine what his own voice sounds like and I'm sure if Terry Fator had entered the contest as a singer instead of a ventriloquist, he would have blown all the other contestants out of the water!! I can't wait to see what happens in this contest!!
