You're right about the SSBM version of Pollyanna sounding like an instrumental version of the song. Not only does it have the phrasing of the vocal version, it borrows the structure, doing 2 'verses' before going to the 'chorus'.

NESS AND NINTEN AREN'T THE SAME PERSON OR RELATED!!!! IF NESS WAS NINTEN, THEN NESS WOULD BE ABOUT 20 BY THE TIME EARTHBOUND WAS RELEASED. However, there is to some speculation that Ninten might be Ness' dad, but then Ness' dad would have been 18 when he and his wife had Ness.

Don't trash something before it even exists for reasons like that. Sakurai made Brawl and it still turned out to be, well... I'd give it a 7/10 or 8/10. Stage Builder was VERY limited, online brawls didn't give you a lot of options that you could choose by playing normally and characters who could have been original ended up as clones due to laziness (for example: Ness and Lucas).

mother was announced in a 1990 issue of nintendo power (in america!) that it would be released as earthbound, but the release was postponed, possibly because of the snes. then, in 2007, the actual prototype nes cartridge was sold on eBay for $1000, and a lucky man bought it.
