@bowserluigi446 Its called the crystal flash. I'm not exactly sure how to do it, but you need at least 10 of each item and I think less then 100 energy. Then you press some weird combination of buttons which puts you into that animation, which gives you full health.

1. Have at least 10 M 10SM and 11 SB. (you need 11 super bombs cause you use one to start the trick) and very very low health with no reserve tanks left

2. Go into assumed morph ball position

3. Press the following all together. L R Down and your button you use to fire the bomb.

4. Watch the magic.

hey, i'm kinda new to this game (just got the varia suit, still not very far into the game), what was it samus was doing in the very beginning of this video? how do you get that ability, is it like regeneration?

@summerguy03 It's called 'Crystal Flash' and it's a way to heal yourself in a pinch. You must have 50 units of energy or less, no reserve tank energy, and at least 10 Missiles, 10 Super Missiles, and 11 Power Bombs. Select the Power Bomb, hold L and R, push down twice to get into Morph Ball, and while continuing to hold L, R and down, press your fire button to lay a Power Bomb, and it should work. The only part I always seem to forget is whether you need to keep holding the fire button or not...

In Super Metroid, you can do special attacks by charging a beam, which uses up a powerbomb. You need to have the charge beam and one other beam set, with other beams off. The attack will cause a set of bullets to circle you and damage enemies, depending on the beam type. I don't recall how because it's been so long since I played. It's how the attack at 0:16 is done.

Other things to do with charge beam is to charge and flip into enemies or charge and go into morphball for multi bomb drops.

i agree with daridave, games nowadays are easy and bearly a challenge because video game makers just stopped making games challenging games after the 80's and early 90's. Sorry, don't blame the game because you suck at it. Backtracking is not an excuse. This game is awesome -- control is tight, exploration is exhaustive, action is aplenty and the feeling of over-powering your enemies once you're fully equipped is one of the most satisfying in any game, ever. I never had a hard time finding exits, secrets or learning the tricky moves. Again, if you suck at a game, don't blame it, blame yourself. It's normal though, today's games are too easy, not your fault!

@Twixgtx games are too easy nowadays. i remember going into the Zero Mission Ridley battle about to shit myself in anticipation of how hard i was sure the battle was going to be. i beat Zero Mission Ridley in like twenty seconds and lost like only fifty energy units. in Super Metroid, i go in with five energy tanks and lose them all by the end of the battle.
