I know I'll catch shit for saying this... but this album would have been such a classic if it had cool lyrics. I know, it's "admirable" that they did an about child abuse, and poverty, and commercialism, and all that, but... come on. This album was always hard for me to fall in love with as a kid. The melodies and riffs were so badass, I listened to it a thousand times TRYING to love it. Couldn't do it. It's just not Blessing, and these damn "be a better parent" lyrics are to blame.
@instereovideos Yeah that's lame. Metal has always been about being aware of real life issues, back to Sab's first album. If that's not your thing then oh well. Too bad. Better than endless phony love songs
@TheEmperorofthevoid yeah, it's not so much what the lyrics are about that even bugs me... they're just not good lyrics. Some people can write a song about ANYTHING and make it sound awesome... others, like Metal Church, write "The Human Factor."
Maybe the most underrated metal band of them all. Once they got Mike Howe, I really figured them to get their due. Great musicians and awesome and powerful vocals.
@brittanykester It is Mike Howe. The guy has a great voice and makes the band in my opinion. I always liked Metal Church but really started to dig them after the addition of Mike Howe. Damn...you are making me pull out old CDs now. I haven't heard Metal Church with David Wayne in about 15 years or so. Wow...I'm old!
