My measuring tape has millimeters on it i just measure in 8mm fuck the half and it comes out right everytime. Compasses move.

Using a pair of compasses is a technique that has nothing to do with using an old jig or a modern one.
On the breakfast bar worktop the curve is cut right through for three quarters of the way around and flipped over and finished off.
