  • 11 dislikes must drive pansy trucks. :p

  • @MrPowertorque i would have to agree... lol

  • A little bit ancient, right...

  • -SIR !!

    they shoot at us !

-shut up and wait for the brakes soldier !!!

  • i used to drive one of those!

  • I like the tac/spedo combo.

  • @24preacherboy they call that a "tachograph" it is like you said, a tach, speedo combo, but it also has a clock and an odometer. Im goin through the formal school on the M1070 HETS right now.

  • @mechanic7916

Thanks keep me informed of your progress. Interested in what you know about rough terrain operation

  • @24preacherboy

as of right now we finished up basic maneuvering (serpantine through k barriers) as far as rough terrain, they try to advise against it, but because of operational security, i cant say too much on its specs. im sure if you went to the oshkosh website it can tell you more

  • @mechanic7916

OK Good Luck and stay safe out there.

I dont envy you if your going to the middle east.

  • The alarm is letting you know that there isn't enough pressure in the air brakes and they won't release.

  • the alarm is to let you know the cylinders are being primed u have to wait a few seconds for them to b primed befor u can crank the motor over

  • low air alarm???

  • @kjs12224 yes. this is the first military vehicle ive seen with a keyed ignition. most ive seen were rocker switch start. i guess so while deployed a soldier wouldnt be in a mad dash to find the keys to drive a vehicle

  • @yamahonkawazuki this is the old het thats no longer being used by the military. Ive actually seen a couple m915 type trucks in iraq that had key ignition

  • @dumaznbum ill be damned. im wondering. say you were on a firebase there. all hell brakes looks elsewhere and that het is needed. and you cant find keys, what would you do?

  • @yamahonkawazuki well i guess id be panicking trying to remember where the keys are. lol the truck that did have keys were TIGHTLY controlled, but yes we did manage to leave the keys back at the tents a couple times. no firefight/mortar attacks but still a fml situation lol

  • @dumaznbum i suppose if worse came to worse yall could hotwire one.

  • Seems like my Fiat Palio.

  • 0:04 dinner is done

  • Yikes That is a monster.. What kinda engine they have??

  • @vanwahlgren It has an 8V92 Detroit.

  • sounds beautiful! can't wait to drive them

  • Yep , spent alot of time in one! 11th Trans co Het, Stuttgart,Germany~~ They were fun! I liked hauling the m88 recovery tank the most~~Spec. Dave Bullock

  • Thank-you for your service, Specialist Bullock.

  • is that an airstart or a starter electric?

  • @dvdprui That would be a electric start - you'd need air to use a airstarter!

  • Nice, the tach is nested in the speedometer

  • 1981-1983 Driver M911C-HET, 377th Trans Co Mannheim Germany. Got lots of miles in one of those. Thanks for the posting.

  • Ahhhhh.......the sweet sound of V8 Detroit. Love those 2 strokes !

  • That's not a HET

  • umm yes it is. Its not the newest HET but it was called a het when the 911 was in service.

  • i ride one of those before

  • whats that noise when u turn the battery on

  • Fuel pump if I had to guess.

  • It's the air system warning buzzer

  • It is the braking system low air pressure warning alarm! Almost all trucks have an alarm of sorts to alert the driver to a air leak somewhere!

  • or jsut low airpressue due to usage of horn/brakes or whatnot. while the engine was off

  • Yes it is and the most annoying sound ever on a long drive I have a m35 wrecker that buzzes the whole time.

  • the low air buzzers/beepers can get annoying sometime

  • Yes and I'm sorry its not a M35 its a M816

  • take them out

  • @schindlerman96

I'll take them old timey buzzers over the new ear splitting beepers or constant squeelers (see Ford Louisville) in some trucks. Almost need hearing protection when building air.

  • well they are ment to be annoying so you dont ignore them

  • @WaffenMitWoIfenstein Why does it buzz? PTO? Surely you can't have low air. Electrical issue?

  • it was the low air buzzer

  • Now thats cool!

  • Cool a lot to look at
