  • Bat Country solo has a good use of this lick =)

  • good lick

  • what kind of pickups you got there?

  • @eljosh84 DiMarzios, yo! That's a FRED in the bridge and a PAF Pro in the neck.

  • @creakystair Indeed, Hendrix was open-minded. Apparently guitarists, like Clapton, disparaged him when he came out, calling him a flash-in-the-pan. Were they jealous, perhaps? But Jimi admired others' work, including people as varied as Django Reinhardt and country players. He was even listening to classical before he died.

  • Great job, great lessons, and thank you for taking the time to create and post all these videos... PS: ohh what an ugly guitar..

  • i can't make the sound after bending last as long as yours! any help>?

  • @512banana1 add volume and or gain? :) Also a practiced bend-finger will make it last longer. If you can't make a whole-step bend sustain, first try with a half step bend?

  • @RJW14 thank you so much. i'm a beginner. i've got an Ibanez.. I've been playing acoustic so far

  • @512banana1 Ibanez player here as well, if your accoustic guitar has an electric output it shouldn't be a problem:) Just hook it to an amp, shove some gain onto it and you're good ta go.

  • @RJW14 oh no, i mean I've recently got an electric guitar after a long time playing acoustic so i have to learn a lot. Maybe the problem is i have to use Effect pedal so that the sound will last longer, right?

  • @512banana1 you gotta pluck the string with your finger not just touch it, i believe thats you problem. considering your guitar is properly adjusted.

  • I found a trick for this lick, use your index finger to bend the 4th string a little bit so that when you tap, you dont hit the 4th string

  • There is nothing new under the sun. I've seen Chet Atkins tapping before Hendrix and I'm sure some classical guitarist did it before him. Not to say those guys copied anyone (they may have figured it out on their own or, like Eddie who copied a Paige lick, copied someone else and changed it)

  • 1:37 dese notes!

  • Except, Eddie didn't have anything to do with creating this. Jimi Hendrix, like usual, was the innovator.

  • @pangborn25 Yeah, Hendrix was great with bends. But I didn't know he tapped hammer-ons.

  • @gyniest Look up His Woodstock improv or, really, anytime he got to solo without the restraint of that whole "song" thing.

  • @pangborn25 Oh I have, it's great stuff. Very creative, and not easy to play. If anyone says "oh Hendrix is overrated, I can play his stuff easily, and I'm 15" I just direct them to that.

Really, I'm more impressed with his rhythm playing and improv than anything else. And the way he used feedback, wah pedal work, and whammy bar dive-bomb effects. I love his licks too, and his overall sound, but that's not what impresses me most.

  • Awesome melody!

  • Angus Young used this technique on Night Prowler, I reckon before Eddie.

  • That is one awesome guitar!!

  • when i tap, the sound doesnt last. FAIL

  • @rrgert4 u have to pull of on the last one b4 u realease the bend

  • @AndrosJL0

    aaah, ok

  • that guitar sounds actually brilliant, what make is it?

  • Please drop the video intro and play the lick at normal speed first thing in the video- that would be a great improvement. Nice playing!

  • i take it this aint possible on an acoustic guitar?

  • @IANC4EVER It is possible, will ultimately depend on your acoustic though. It may resonate more of the odd-order harmonics when you tap, making it sound out of tune.

  • @IANC4EVER Don't think so :)

  • @IANC4EVER you can do it on an acoustic but it's not very practical and won't sound the same.

  • @IANC4EVER if your fingers are strong enough

  • @IANC4EVER Everything played on electric guitar is possible on acoustic guitar, it's just WAY harder, and you need to make tons of uncomfortable adjustments...

  • @IANC4EVER Oh it -is- possible, you just have to have amazing fingerstrength in your tapping finger. What makes it sound on an electric guitar is the gain thrown over it, but certainly not impossible on an accoustic.

  • @IANC4EVER You would be surprised.

  • he's using Dimarzio super-distortions :)

  • i just made 2 songs out of that technique

  • @thedesiredavenger 2 entire songs out of one lick?! wtf

  • @ctjoao what can i say? i'm almost talented

  • @thedesiredavenger you should post em!

  • @ctjoao i'll try i only have to make them sound right :)

  • @ctjoao dude you are an idiot. One lick?! he said technique

  • @PapaHet91 this whole entire video is based on one lick though..... either way how can you make a whole song out of one technique

  • @thedesiredavenger ha! i made 3 xD

  • @thedesiredavenger How long did it take to make those lol

  • beauty

  • how did u get that tone

  • @delta9LouDog POD XT Live.

  • Why is he using a bass pick?

  • @UKRCyanide is a 1.0 mm pick concreted a bass pick. cause those are what i use..cant do and pinch harmonics with out it

  • @UKRCyanide It's not a bass pick. It's just a little larger than your normal sized pick. Why, you ask? Because! :)

  • in what song dose he use this riff?

  • @MrMijuskovic panama solo !

  • charvel

  • what kind of guitar is that?

  • fuckin awesome,nice tone
