ok my comp is overheating its a lap top so it starts to burn real hot when i play minecraft and when i got on my server but when im on youtube it can last 2 hours max when on minecraft or in general it lasts 30 minutes.. i dont get it..

@nonotmeplz2 hey are playing on a flat surface? its porberly (lol spelling fail)becus not enough air is flowing in the laptop. air flows through the bottem of the laptop to cool it,to stop this,raise the laptop slightly so air can flow beneath the laptop(u can use a book or anything that can hold the laptop)hope this helped!

@helihopter186 same here! but when im also RENDERING video from (camtasia, vegas, cinema 4d) it might overheat and the whole maybe 1-10h process goess waste which is really shitty.

my computer's problem is it will turn off then when i on it again there will be a sound like tee tut tee tut then off again but when i wait for a while when i on it theres still a sound like that but it will open then later on when im playing it will overheat again over and over again :C

k my desktop has been overheating for awhile

i had it check and the tech guy said my motherboard burned out so i had it replaced (128 bucks)

but now it still overheats once in awhile, could it be the power supply?

the fans are fine and theres no dust, i keep my comp on my desk away from wall

droodletyo also remove the CPU fan and make sure that the CPU Heatsink isnt blocked up with dust.

@droodletyo The problem with having a fan blowing into your pc is that the CPU fan is designed to draw heat AWAY from the CPU, so if you have a fan blowing air into your PC those 2 fans are going to counteract each other and heat will not be drawn away from CPU, PC cases are designed to channel air into your PC, past heat prone components then eventually out of your PC so by removing the side casing your are actually causing another problem, get a case fan on the side of your PC :P

I HAVE A SOLUTION TO OVERHEATING LAPTOPS! Get a laptop cooling pad. They are very useful in keeping a laptop cool and are often portable. Just search it in google. Also, you may want to try to look at some 'How to speed up your computer' videos on Youtube.

Another way it can overheat is if the Fan is old! and needs to be Replaced.

The perfect ambient temperature it's around 20 Celcius.So if it's 33-35 inside your house .. Your cpu will overheat with stock fan if you stress it .It's simply common sense.

Also Dust.Dust can cause your cpu fan to slowdown.You can lose 300-400 RPM if you fan full of dust plus it's block the airflow.If you don't have any air compressor .. use a q-tip.That work fine.

Than you can always place a port Fan beside your case blowing inside..But that mean more dust inside you case

my computer overheats when I play games... is it because of my power supply unit, because it's load is 324W... and my graphic card is ati radeon 4890 clocked version... and I taught maybe the graphic card overheats when it's use is required and the PSU can't supply enough power to cool the graphic card... this was just an idea of mine, but can someone pls help me with this... if what I said is true than what am I supposed to do... if not than why does it overheat?? pls help

Btw u missed on thing I have 3 fans but still over heats the problem was I needed a surge protector because the power going in was to much and the campasitors would over heat in 1 hour.

it runs perfect but after 30 mins gameplay of assassins creed 2 my pcs heat increases to 80 Celsius! is that dangereous for the my PCs health? is 80 C normal, should i restore the overclock settings to normal? thanks in advance

@Adredinna Yes this is verry dangerous to your PC, I have the same problem and the PC's heat increases to 90 C. Why? Because my PC sits next to a drapery and a window. And... I have 4 fans and still don't know what to do. I was at a local electronics store and they tell that my PC is normal to overheat. I mean, 90 C this is crazy. I am still searching for a solution, move my PC in a better position, don't know.
