@captinrapter It looks better (smoother) on a PS2 with added texture filtering. But this video here only shows the intro video which is pre-rendered anyway. So it looks the same on PS1 or PS2 (or PS3) ;)

people can dis alien ressurection all they want and insist that alien is meant to be a trilogy. but i just watch ressurection and enjoy it as a great art film made by an amazing director who made an alien film with some damn good atmospher and visuals and the vibe of the whole film is just amazing. i actually watch ressurection more the the other films. i know i know but i love the very dark vibe of it. the ending is intense. the baby alien geting his booty sucked out the window still moves me.

it's not lava it's fire from the giant furance in alien 3 the chestburster died with ripley. Because of the intense heat the chest burster poped out and died with her because of cloning she is a hybrid

It doesn't make sence. In alien 3 she fell into the lava with the alien half out of her stomach. So how come her tummy was all normal again. I haven't seen the movie of this so correct me if im wrong.

@Tehweirdkat In the Director's Cut of Alien 3, the Alien doesn't burst out of her stomach. She still falls into the lava, though but in Alien 4 she is cloned from old blood samples they took on the prisoner's planet. The Ripley in Alien 4 is cloned with her own and some alien dna, so she also has like acid blood and stuff. There's a scene in Alien 4 where the other (failed) attempts of cloning her are shown. But in the end it still doesn't make sense she had an alien inside her after cloning ;-)

@cenorexia Alien Resurrection was a movie that should never have existed. The Alien series was meant to be a trilogy. Ridley Scott (Alien), James Cameron (Aliens) and David Fincher (Alien 3) all agreed to this fact and all say that Alien Resurrection was a horrible movie.

@cenorexia Well, if Ripley had been cloned through blood samples taken on the prison planet, as you say, then yeah, she was carrying the alien at the time. It's entirely possible and even likely that, because the alien grows in a host, thus leaching off blood and nutrients of the victim, it also sheds a bit of it's own residue which circulates within the bloodstream of the host. This could feasibly have been the cause behind both the embryo's cloning and Ripley's hybrid nature.

@DanteFingers I think the blood was taken when she arrived at the prison. She got her head shaved and had to stay in quarantine, so I'm pretty sure they also took some blood during all these medical tests to see if she has some kind of disease, etc. Maybe that's even mentioned in the director's cut of Alien: Resurrection (but I'm not sure - it's been a while since I last saw it).

@Tehweirdkat She was cloned with samples of her blood, which had slight samples of alien DNA in it. When she was finally cloned perfectly after 7 previous attempts at cloning her. The Queen was still inside her because her original blood sample housed it's DNA in that spot.

In alien 4 we can understand , that 200 years after her sucide, the scientist cloned her tons of times, and the number 8 was the perfect creature. He is a hybrid, human, but her inside is alien, and also has super-strong and stamina etc...

It's a shame they didn't stick to the original design of the Resurrection game. When I first read about it in the old ps1 mags some of the screenshots of the in game footage with the third person view and everything I was excited about it.

A few month down the line though seems they ditched it all and went for the first person shooter instead :/ although still a good and somewhat scary game if you don't know what to expect.

The in-game graphics were amazing as well, considering the hardware it ran on (PS1). It still looks and plays very nice on a PS2 with added texture filtering and faster loading times. Definitely worth a look! :)

Yes. It smoothens the otherwise rather blocky textures. It's quite a noticeable difference. But you have to explicitly enable texture filtering and faster loading times each time you boot up your PS2.

Das Game ist echt ziemlich schwer, hat aber auch eine super Atmosphäre! Und mit eingeschalteter Texturglättung und kürzeren Ladezeiten auf der PS2 sieht's auch heute noch gar nicht mal so schlecht aus (für 'nen PS1 Titel) ;)
