nice video bro, im thinkin of doing one of these myself but with brushed stainless laminate and shadow lines running through the end gables aswell, check my vids on custom tank stand builds coming soon :-)
@ProjectAquarium Thanks for replying:) But to hold up a big aquarium? But for how long? Sorry I'm in a little disbelief over how easy this looks... Is this similar to ADA's stand construction too? this is blowing my mind!
@SpearWieldingOctopus If the aquarium got over 75 or so gallons I would probly double up the plywood to create 1.5" walls, but that is probly an overkill. Keep in mind that Wood glue is stronger than the wood itself if there is enough surface area from proper adhesion. The biscuits allow for this. Use quality 3/4" OAK HARDWOOD plywood and it will hold anything you put on it.
best part about the audio of this vid was halo Music

What about the bottom? Clearly you put something under the cabinet, to lift it couple more inches off the ground.

@schtals It is just another piece of plywood.

So no screws or nails were used on the body(except for the hinges)? Just wood glue?

Very clean design. I'll be using it for my 30 gal tall tank. How is the top bar of doubled plywood is attached to the sides???
egw999 7 months ago
@egw999 It is attached using just wood glue.

Btw can i use this method to build the stand to a 120x40x40cm tank?
But with a board in the middle to make it stronger?
lollerpoop 9 months ago
@lollerpoop Yes, that was my first design. It can be seen on my site, under articles.
