They are a generic indie band, they're a pretty dire sounding band to be perfectly frank, I mean what is it with this kook-esque slur which makes the singer sound like he's got a gobstopper in his mouth?!It's like the middle class indie answer to the grime sound, apart from the fact that the grime sound is genuine and these kids in these "indie" bands are likely to have perfect accents.

I saw these live wen they opened for Bloc Party, and i thought they were really good, i got their album and LPs. they definatly have their own sound which i love, theyre not trying to be anyone else.

it was feb5th 07 lamcq in the city, reading hexagon, the launch on theur new album, they opened then metric then blocparty of course, to me, it seemed that altho elle milano werent as good musicians as metric, i enjoyed their songs more. i guess its just a difference in taste, hav u heard of apartment, theyr album last year was really good, the dreamer evasive

Um. I've loved Elle Milano for a long time, but this video is a disappointment. It's quite poor. I know it's the expected norm for guitar pop bands to have shit unimaginative videos of them playing instruments but Elle Milano are art graduates, we know they're capable of funny interesting creative stuff. The video for "Juliette's Dead" is beautiful, and it's clearly just done with a little cameraphone. So once given the opportunity and money to make a proper video, is this is what we get?

technically, if they want to be successful, which for a fairly generic sounding indie band, is the only way of being successful, a music video such as this is fairly creative and enjoyable to watch. thusly good. the juliette's dead video is painfully flickery to watch to the point where everyone in my room at the time begged me to turn it off. experimental? slightly. good? not for the purpose.

I don't think Elle Milano ARE a generic sounding indie band. I think this song is generic sounding and most of the new album is too (first impressions) but most of my experience of Elle Milano is of them being funny and creative and interesting. Juliette's Dead is just an example that they ARE capable of creativity, it doesn't have to be 'experimental'. Adam sings "why d'you sign to major label?!?!", well, why did you guys sign to a small label and manage to sell out regardless?

the first time I heard their new album I thought it was a bit generic as well but it isnt AT ALL. its my favourite album at the moment its acctually perfect!

yes their old music was amazing but so is their new music, I dont think theyve sold out at all, i know the manager of the label theyre signed to he wouldnt try to change them, all bands change and I think they are just being experimental.
