If someone is teaching other people how to play something, they have to slow down so people can actually see which notes they've hit. If he played it at regular speed people who don't know a piano like the back of their hand, like those of us who've been playing for several years, will not know what the notes actually are. Slowing it down and shifting the hands like that serves the purpose of showing them which notes to hit and when.

Try playing with your hands held like that. It hurts.

I really like it because I have been trying to learn it and it is slow and he doesn't show his fingers that much. If you LEARN TO READ.. You can notice that is says "how to play" that is why it is so slowly, and that is why things seem off.

For people butchering him about wrong notes, it's difficult to play such pieces this slowly when they aren't originated that way, like for the life of me I would never be able to play "Fantasie Impromptu" slowly..

You should be able to play it slowly though. You don't learn pieces by playing them fast. No offense. I have to agree with you that there's no need to criticize him for the way he's playing. Just look at how cramped his hands are to allow the viewer to actually see his fingers. Has to be horrible to play like this.

I have taken the piano for around ten years or so now and have played some of Bach's work. With that apologetic in hand, It is reasonable to expect that the notes should be "right" even when playing the piece slowly for the sake of instruction. Quality is important. That being said, I do feel that videos like this are a good thing.

I play Fantasy Impromptu slowly to teach people that it doesn't take 10 years of piano to learn how to play it, and they learn a lot :D It also sounds really nice when played slowly. Otherwise, yeah, people need to calm down and post a better video if there's that much to complain about!... :-|

This is a good video for getting people started on how they should be learning this piece if they wanna play it, I've recently got some of the piano sheet music but with no finger positions written on it and ive been trying to figure it out but looking at this has made it easier for me, so everyone stop bitchin bout this, grow up obviously we know this isnt the full piece, and its really stuck up when you read really stuck up comments about how they've 'missed a note' etc. get over it
