I was about 12-14 at the height of their pomp and loved them. I can remember playing pinball in a coffee bar every Saturday under a huge poster of marc and longing for a pair of platforms like his. Swapping TRex posters for Slade with the girl next door was a weekly event
can't beleive i found this so amazing my first ever live gig skived off school to cue to get tickets for odean brum to see t.rex! so many years ago you made old bird happy tonite!
bueno... si es el maximo... habra que poner 5 estrellas.
realmente increible . no sabia que el pavo este llegara a estos niveles de virtuosismo con la guitarra ademas de ser de los mejores swomans que ha habido.
Back in the day i remember my local music shop had a poster of Marc advertising Gibson guitars.."BOLAN PLAYS GIBSON". Someone had replaced "PLAYS" with "HOLDS"!Still angers me to this day...although Marc has definately had the last laugh thanks to people like you. BOOGIE ON!WE ARE THE CHILDREN OF THE REVOLUTION!
It drives you mad when you try and educate people and tell them what a great musician marc was,o yeah, metal guru or ride a white swan they say,the world should be made to sit down and watch tracks like this then the world would know the man was the greatest ever.
he was huge in his day, Bang a Gong on AM radio but, later it's Bowie they think of when they Think.... glam rock. I remember Slider commercials on TV in the New York metro area!!!! nobody had commercials for lps on prime time tv back then, like no body. so... he did have his day. and yes, an amazing guitar stylist as well as amazing singer songwriter. is the cult of Bolan bigger than the cult of say, Syd Barrett? Barrett was in a bad place when Bolan was riding the White Swann of success
you are so right i think exactly that too his hidden songs they never hear he was more then the songs that he was known for if people only knew what we know
This song especially and parts of Zinc Alloy era- T-Rex live showed off Bolan as a superb guitar stylist when he ditched the confines of the three minute pop song format. Marc became too conservative; he should have ventured out and experimented more.
malc out of shawaddywaddy lives near me when i was walkin dog i bummped into him , i asked if he had met marc is reply . ive jammed we hendrix played we lot of world class musicians but im gutted not to have met marc ! hes a fuckin icon . enough said
It is absolutely wicked. Another fantastic performance from the greatest. Marc you will be never forgotten. Thank you for sharing this great video with us.
This is proof that it doesn't matter how hard or easy it is to play the guitar... it matters WHO'S playing the guitar! Sure it's simple, but it's MARC doing it! You're totally right, it's impossible to get tired of him! MARC makes this jam interesting. Put anyone else up there and we get bored with him. But since it's Marc, he has us hanging on every note, wondering what he's going to come up with next. That's called "the IT factor" and he's got it in spades. Star quality.

If Steve Currie was underrated in the band for sure, as was Marc Bolan underrated in the USA, for that matter.

The addition of Steve Currie's bass made that a 100% better version compared with the record, I think.
